The study of mechanical and statistical properties of nitrogen ion-implanted Tantalum bulk
In the present study, structural and mechanical properties of Tantalum samples which affected by nitrogen ion implantation have been investigated. The monofractal analysis of the samples has been carried out. These samples have been implanted with ions at different doses of 5 × 1017 and 7 × 1017 at energy 30 keV. For characterizing the samples, atomic force microscopy (AFM), EDX images analysis, and corrosion measurements, have been used. By varying the ion energy, the statistical characteristics will vary. In order to analyse the morphology of produced rough samples, the correlation function of samples have been studied and their correlation length is evaluated. Based on the statistical concept the power spectral density the height distribution, and the higher-order moments (skewness and kurtosis) of the surface height have been measured. These charactristics are the important criterions for the the monofractal evaluation. Our numerical calculations based on experimental data show the deviation from gaussian distribution. Also, the fractal dimension of the films has been calculated based on rougness exponent results. Indeed, irradiating the surfaces with energetic ions results in producing the self-affine fractal surfaces. This process via an erosion process affects the statistical characteristics which have been calculated for different samples. Because of variation in the morphology of rough samples, the corrosion of samples shows a non-uniform behavior.https://www.elsevier.com/locate/ijleohj2022Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineerin

Transport Properties through Double Barrier Structure in Graphene
The mode-dependent transmission of relativistic ballistic massless Dirac
fermion through a graphene based double barrier structure is being investigated
for various barrier parameters. We compare our results with already published
work and point out the relevance of these findings to a systematic study of the
transport properties in double barrier structures. An interesting situation
arises when we set the potential in the leads to zero, then our 2D problem
reduces effectively to a 1D massive Dirac equation with an effective mass
proportional to the quantized wave number along the transverse direction.
Furthermore we have shown that the minimal conductivity and maximal Fano factor
remain insensitive to the ratio between the two potentials V_2/V_1=\alpha.Comment: 18 pages, 12 figures, clarifications and reference added, misprints

Vaccination with human amniotic epithelial cells confer effective protection in a murine model of Colon adenocarcinoma
As a prophylactic cancer vaccine, human amniotic membrane epithelial cells (hAECs) conferred effective protection in a murine model of colon cancer. The immunized mice mounted strong cross-protective CTL and antibody responses. Tumor burden was significantly reduced in tumor-bearing mice after immunization with hAECs. Placental cancer immunotherapy could be a promising approach for primary prevention of cancer. In spite of being the star of therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment, the results of immunotherapeutic approaches are still far from expectations. In this regard, primary prevention of cancer using prophylactic cancer vaccines has gained considerable attention. The immunologic similarities between cancer development and placentation have helped researchers to unravel molecular mechanisms responsible for carcinogenesis and to take advantage of stem cells from reproductive organs to elicit robust anti-cancer immune responses. Here, we showed that vaccination of mice with human amniotic membrane epithelial cells (hAECs) conferred effective protection against colon cancer and led to expansion of systemic and splenic cytotoxic T cell population and induction of cross-protective cytotoxic responses against tumor cells. Vaccinated mice mounted tumor-specific Th1 responses and produced cross-reactive antibodies against cell surface markers of cancer cells. Tumor burden was also significantly reduced in tumor-bearing mice immunized with hAECs. Our findings pave the way for potential future application of hAECs as an effective prophylactic cancer vaccine. © 2017 UIC

Evaluate the impact of dietary herbal appetizer on the growth performance of growth out common carp (Cyprinus carpio)
The main goal of the current study is to evaluate the impact of dietary herbal appetizer on the growth performance of growth out common carp. This project was conducted at Caspian sea research institute of ecology from 2013 to 2014. Totally 186 common carps with an average weight of 126.3 g were randomly distributed to 9 fiberglass tanks with area and depth of 16m2 and of 0.6 m. The experiment lasted for eight weeks and the fish were fed by three different diets as follows: 1. Commercial pellet contained no herbal additive (control diet) 2. Commercial pellet contained 1% herbal appetizer and 3. Commercial pellet contained 2% herbal appetizer. The results showed that common carp weight gains for diet 1 , 2 and 3 were 51.6, 49.3 and 57.6g respectively. The estimated growth rate was 39.03g for control diet, 40.03g for 1% inclusion of the additive and 48.65g for 2% inclusion of the additive. Results also showed that inclusion of the additive did not change statistically average final weight (p>0.05). A larger weight gain was observed at 2% additive inclusion although this was not statistically different with other treatments. In conclusion, with regard to the observed results, herbal appetizer administration cannot improve growth, feed conversion rate and weight gain in common carps
Microstructural and Energy-Dispersive X-ray Analyses on Argon Ion Implantations in Tantalum Thin Films for Microelectronic Substrates
In the present study, the microstructural and statistical properties of unimplanted in comparison to argon ion-implanted tantalum-based thin film surface structures are investigated for potential application in microelectronic thin film substrates. In the study, the argon ions were implanted at the energy of 30 keV and the doses of 1 × 1017, 3 × 1017, and 7 × 1017 (ion/cm2) at an ambient temperature. Two primary goals have been pursued in this study. First, by using atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis, the roughness of samples, before and after implantation, has been studied. The corrosion apparatus wear has been used to compare resistance against tantalum corrosion for all samples. The results show an increase in resistance against tantalum corrosion after the argon ion implantation process. After the corrosion test, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis was applied to study the sample morphology. The elemental composition of the samples was characterized by using energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. Second, the statistical characteristics of both unimplanted and implanted samples, using the monofractal analysis with correlation function and correlation length of samples, were studied. The results show, however, that all samples are correlated and that the variation of ion doses has a negligible impact on the values of correlation lengths. Moreover, the study of height distribution and higher-order moments show the deviation from Gaussian distribution. The calculations of the roughness exponent and fractal dimension indicates that the implanted samples are the self-affine fractal surfaces
