Economic issues in disease control and eradication
This paper examines some of the methodological and measurement issues in assessing benefits and costs of vertical disease control and /or eradication projects. The paper also discusses the impact of improved health on rural output and employment first in a simplified model and then in connection with the target group, or group at risk, approach to disease control. The paper concludes with some general discussion of the interaction between health and development.
