RFID Synchronization for Ambient Services in PROSIS Holonic Control

    No full text
International audienceProduct traceability is now an obligation in terms of observability and flexibility of manufacturing systems and logistics chains. RFID technologies are due to be more and more integrated into existing communication networks. New infotronic technologies will enlarge the capabilities to interact, to react and to customize control systems with innovative possibilities. New control approaches should be proposed based on the use of emerging technologies that would allow their operability in manufacturing sites. A model for ambient control production systems is proposed, based on a set of holonic entities interacting through set of entities that offer ambient services. After describing the PROSIS model, some of the ambient services that can be provided and the way these services could be provided are presented. Then, the impact of the proposed approach in terms of performance evaluation is studied

May 25 - May 27International audienceAmbient intelligence applied to manufacturing systems will deeply transform approaches to production organization and control. Infotronics technologies will enlarge the capabilities to interact, to react and to customize control systems with innovative possibilities that should already be envisaged and thoroughly studied. Indeed, beyond identification, traceability and security applications that are generally considered, these technologies offer the possibility to associate to each entity, constituting a production system, a decisional intelligence. Autonomy properties are thus associated to the entity. Under these new advances, a control system based on the holonic paradigm and an isoarchic architecture, named PROSIS (Product, Resource, Order, Simulation Isoarchical System), was proposed. This approach provides a range of ambient services to the holonic entities. The aim of this paper is to present the service oriented architecture in the PROSIS control system. After presenting the holonic control system (PROSIS) model, the ambient services that can be provided are described and the way these services could be delivered are presented
