Adecuación de senderos reutilizando caucho sintético en el Geositio Piedra Jabón

Caring for the environment requires actions to dispose of waste correctly, so you must have a management that encourages reuse and recycling; considering the disproportionate increase in solid waste in Panama, it seeks to lead a network of solutions applicable in the country contributing to SDG 11. The objective is to design and build a prototype of stairs with 2301 discarded neoprene meshes in the Penonome Municipal Landfill, which allows improving access and displacement for both geotourism and the inhabitants of the Piedra Jabón Geosite. For the designs, the construction of a staircase in variable ground conditions is considered, considering intense rains, undermining, landslides, existing trees to be preserved and spaces used by the community. For the design, laboratory tests were carried out on the soil, verifications of the material to be used and geotechnical calculations. It is concluded that, due to the hardness of the material, its resistance to climate and time presents the necessary characteristics to be used as stairs, the geotechnical conditions, anchors and details required for construction are defined; In addition, the community showed a high interest, therefore, at the end of the validation of the prototype, the execution of the project has been planned in the sites indicated by the inhabitants of the sector, generating social service places that contribute to the integral development of future professionals and benefiting about 70 families of artisans who use the trails every day.Cuidar el medio ambiente requiere acciones para disponer de manera correcta de los residuos, por ello se debe tener una gestión que incentive la reutilización y reciclaje; considerando el incremento desmesurado de desechos sólidos en Panamá, se busca liderar una red de soluciones aplicables en el país contribuyendo al ODS 11. El objetivo es diseñar y construir un prototipo de escaleras con 2301 mallas de neopreno desechadas en el Vertedero Municipal de Penonomé, que permita mejorar los accesos y el desplazamiento tanto para el geoturismo como para los moradores del Geositio Piedra Jabón. Para los diseños se tomó en cuenta la construcción de una escalera en condiciones variables de terreno considerando lluvias intensas, socavación, deslizamientos de terreno, arboles existentes a preservar y espacios empleados por la comunidad. Para el diseño se realizaron ensayos de laboratorio al suelo, verificaciones del material a emplear y cálculos geotécnicos. Se concluye que, debido a la dureza del material, su resistencia al clima y al tiempo presenta las características necesarias para ser usado como escaleras, se definen las condiciones geotécnicas, anclajes y detalles requeridos para la construcción; además, la comunidad demostró un alto interés, por tanto, al finalizar la validación del prototipo, se ha planificado la ejecución del proyecto en los sitios indicados por los moradores del sector, generando plazas de servicio social que contribuyen al desarrollo integral de los futuros profesionales y beneficiando a unas 70 familias de artesanos que cada día utilizan los senderos
