Fault Detection and Isolation of Nonlinear Systems with Generalized Hamiltonian Representation
The problem of fault diagnosis in a class of nonlinear system is considered. Systems that can be written in the so‐called Generalized Hamiltonian Representation (which is equivalent to an Euler‐Lagrange representation) are studied, and a model‐based observer approach for this class of systems is developed. The main advantage of the proposed approach is the facility to design the required observers, which take advantage of the system structure given by the Hamitonian representation. In order to show the proposed schema, a model of a permanent magnet synchronous machine is revised and the fault diagnosis schema presented. Simulation results confirm the effectivity of the proposed schema

The Respiratory Exchange Ratio is Associated with Fitness Indicators Both in Trained and Untrained Men: A Possible Application for People with Reduced Exercise Tolerance
Background The respiratory exchange ratio (RER) indirectly shows the muscle's oxidative capacity to get energy. Sedentarism, exercise and physically active lifestyles modify it. For that reason, this study evaluates the associations between RER during sub-maximum exercise and other well established fitness indicators (body fat, maximum heart rate, maximum O 2 uptake, workload, and lactate threshold), in physically active trained and untrained men. Methods The RER, O 2 uptake and blood lactate were measured in eight endurance trained and eight untrained men (age, 22.9 ± 4.5 vs. 21.9 ± 2.8 years; body mass, 67.1 ± 5.4 vs. 72.2 ± 7.7 kg; body fat, 10.6 ± 2.4% vs. 16.6 ± 3.8% and maximum O2 uptake, 68.9 ± 6.3 vs. 51.6 ± 5.8 ml · kg −1 · min −1 ), during maximum exercise test and during three different sub-maximum exercises at fixed workload: below, within or above the lactate threshold. Results Endurance trained men presented higher O 2 uptake, lower blood lactate concentrations and lower RER values than those in untrained men at the three similar relative workloads. Even though with these differences in RER, a strong association (p < 0.05) of RER during sub-maximum exercise with the other well established fitness indicators was observed, and both maximum O 2 uptake and lactate threshold determined more than 57% of its variance (p < 0.05). Conclusions These data demonstrate that RER measurement under sub-maximum exercise conditions was well correlated with other established physical fitness indicators, despite training condition. Furthermore, the results suggest that RER could help obtain an easy approach of fitness status under low exercise intensity and could be utilized in subjects with reduced exercise tolerance
Neutral high-generation phosphorus dendrimers inhibit macrophage-mediated inflammatory response in vitro and in vivo
Inflammation is part of the physiological response of the organism
to infectious diseases caused by organisms such as bacteria,
viruses, fungi, or parasites. Innate immunity, mediated by mono nuclear phagocytes, including monocytes and macrophages, is a
first line of defense against infectious diseases and plays a key role
triggering the delayed adaptive response that ensures an efficient
defense against pathogens. Monocytes and macrophages stimu lation by pathogen antigens results in activation of different
signaling pathways leading to the release of proinflammatory cyto kines. However, inflammation can also participate in the pathogenesis
of several diseases, the autoimmune diseases that represent a relevant
burden for human health. Dendrimers are branched, multivalent
nanoparticles with a well-defined structure that have a high potential
for biomedical applications. To explore new approaches to fight
against the negative aspects of inflammation, we have used neutral
high-generation phosphorus dendrimers bearing 48 (G3) or 96 (G4)
bisphosphonate groups on their surface. These dendrimers show no
toxicity and have good solubility and chemical stability in aqueous
solutions. Here, we present data indicating that neutral phosphorus
dendrimers show impressive antiinflammatory activities both in
vitro and in vivo. In vitro, these dendrimers reduced the secretion
of proinflammatory cytokines from mice and human monocyte derived macrophages. In addition, these molecules present efficient
antiinflammatory activity in vivo in a mouse model of subchronic
inflammation. Taken together, these data suggest that neutral G3-
G4 phosphorus dendrimers have strong potential applications in the
therapy of inflammation and, likely, of autoimmune diseases.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Impact of N2 plasma power discharge on AlGaN/GaN HEMT performance
The effects of power and time conditions of in situ N2 plasma treatment, prior to silicon nitride (SiN) passivation, were investigated on an AlGaN/GaN high-electron mobility transistor (HEMT). These studies reveal that N2 plasma power is a critical parameter to control the SiN/AlGaN interface quality, which directly affects the 2-D electron gas density. Significant enhancement in the HEMT characteristics was observed by using a low power N2 plasma pretreatment. In contrast, a marked gradual reduction in the maximum drain-source current density (IDS max) and maximum transconductance (gm max), as well as in fT and fmax, was observed as the N2 plasma power increases (up to 40% decrease for 210 W). Different mechanisms were proposed to be dominant as a function of the discharge power range. A good correlation was observed between the device electrical characteristics and the surface assessment by atomic force microscopy and Kelvin force microscopy techniques
Continuity of Nursing Care in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Systematic Review
Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death worldwide and patient continuity
of care is essential. Health professionals can help in the transition stage by providing resources to
achieve pharmacological treatment adherence, as well as social and emotional support. The objective
was to analyse the effects of nursing interventions based on continuity of care in patients with
coronary artery disease after hospital discharge. A systematic review of randomised controlled trials
and quasi-experimental studies was carried out. Cochrane, CINAHL, Health & medical collection,
Medline, and Scopus databases were consulted in January 2022. PRISMA guidelines were followed
with no time limits. In total, 16 articles were included with a total of 2950 patients. Nurse-led
continuity of care programs improved the monitoring and control of the disease. Positive effects
were found in the quality of life of patients, and in mental health, self-efficacy, and self-care capacity
dimensions. Clinical parameters such as blood pressure and lipid levels decreased. The continuity
of care provided by nurses had a positive influence on the quality of life of patients with coronary
artery disease. Nurse-led care focused on the needs and resources, including continuity of care, plays
a key role
MRE11A Polymorphisms Are Associated With Subclinical Atherosclerosis and Cardiovascular Risk Factors. A Case-Control Study of the GEA Mexican Project
DNA damage and subsequent repair pathways have been involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Meiotic recombination 11 homolog A (MRE11A) gene polymorphisms have been associated with the presence of myocardial infarction. We analyzed five MRE11A gene polymorphisms in 386 individuals with subclinical atherosclerosis and 1093 healthy controls. Under different models, the rs13447720 (Odds ratio = 0.646, Padditive = 0.009; Odds ratio = 0.636, Pdominant = 0.012; Odds ratio = 0.664, Pover–dominant = 0.025; Odds ratio = 0.655, Pcodominant1 = 0.021) and rs499952 (Odds ratio = 0.807, Padditive = 0.032; Odds ratio = 0.643, Pcodominant2 = 0.034) polymorphisms were associated with a lower risk of subclinical atherosclerosis. On the other hand, the rs2155209 polymorphism was associated with a reduced risk of having a coronary artery calcification score ≥ 100 Agatston units. The rs13447720, rs499952, and rs2155209 polymorphisms, as well as the haplotypes that included the five studied polymorphisms were associated with some clinical and metabolic parameters in both subclinical atherosclerosis and healthy individuals. Our results suggest that the rs13447720 and rs499952 polymorphisms are associated with a decreased risk of developing subclinical atherosclerosis, whereas the rs2155209 is associated with a lower subclinical atherosclerosis severity (coronary artery calcification < 100 Agatston units). MRE11A polymorphisms and haplotypes were associated with clinical and metabolic parameters
This study aims to identify and assess a socioformative-based intervention model applied by psychopedagogical teams at public, basic education schools. An evaluative, descriptive study was carried out using a survey of closed-ended questions administered to a group of professionals who work in the field of inclusion. The results showed that a large percentage of professionals are applying the clinical approach; a model that has been criticized in the scientific literature due to its low impact, poor performance and scarce relevance in today's knowledge society. We conclude that the regulations concerning psychopedagogical practice and the training of these professionals should be revised and updated within the framework of the socioformative approach
