Non-Specific Indication of Microorganisms in Environmental Samples
The review presents an analysis of modern methods and instruments for performing nonspecific detection of pathogenic biological agents in environmental objects. Discussed are technological characteristics of application of these methods for the detection of biological substances of protein nature in samples. The spectrum of means for non-specific PBA detection includes home-produced and foreign field devices based on protein contamination indication using various colorimetry variants. Technologies for remote and direct monitoring of environment for the presence of aerosols of biological nature are represented by hybrid lidar systems (biolidars) and biodetectors. For PBA nucleic acids tracing, the complexes based on DNA molecule binding with fluorophore with further fluorescence detection are described. Given are the examples of chemiluminescent analysis application in the developed automatic impurity detectors, as well as systems using bioluminescence. Based on the literature data analysis, put forward is a possible algorithm for indication of pathogenic biological agents when carrying out monitoring of the environment in zones of possible emergency situation occurrence and mass events holding
Key Stages in the Development of SAET Laboratory Facilities
Considered are the stages of the SAET laboratory facilities development. Initially main area of activities was assumed to be specific indication of bacterial threats and laboratory control over the ambient environment objects for the presence of particularly dangerous infectious disease agents. Significant increment in the workload occurred during the period of localization and elimination of epidemic cholera manifestations in the 1970s, when primary tasks of bacteriological unit consisted in carrying out mass bacteriological investigations of samples from humans, environment objects, and food items. Assignment of new functions to the laboratory facilities, such as performance of sanitary-microbiological investigations, monitoring over ambient environment objects for the presence of vibrio-flora and natural-focal infectious disease agents, clinical material assays - is associated with SAETs participation in liquidation of medical-sanitary consequences of natural disasters and human cost relief as aftermaths of military conflicts, as well as participation in management of mass events with international representation. Most important issues in the development of SAET laboratory facilities are implementation of advanced diagnostic technologies, automatization of various stages in the process of analysis performing, standardization of diagnostic investigations, and ensuring compliance of the facilities with national and international requirements
К вопросу о современном подходе к диагностике и лечению травм селезенки у детей
Today, the problem of spleen injury in children still appears relevant. The choice of diagnostics and treatment tactics at the present stage is far from being unified. The priority direction is the organ-preserving approach, which is possible and justified in children, which significantly reduces surgical aggression and prevents the likelihood of negative consequences of splenectomy. The choice of the optimal diagnostic method and determination of safe treatment tactics was the purpose of our study. Thirty-nine injured children were treated in 2007–2019. The predominant cause of spleen injury was fall from height (64.1%). Echography was the main diagnostic method, which was performed around the clock. Splenectomy was performed in 7 patients (17.9%), in 32 children (82.1%) the organ was preserved. One case (2.6%) was fatal. The analysis of our own results showed that the widespread use of echography, particularly by surgeons, is necessary in the emergency service and greatly simplifies the work. The developed local protocol for diagnosis and treatment is simple and accessible, since it is based on the interpretation of the main criteria, such as systemic hemodynamics and hemoperitoneum. Continued bleeding reasons diagnostic laparoscopy. With unstable hemodynamics, large hemoperitoneum, laparotomy is indicated.
MALDI-TOF Mass-Spectrometry Analysis of Plague Agent Strains
Objective of the study was to demonstrate practicability of data base creation, containing reference mass-spectra of agents of particularly dangerous infections, using MALDI-TOF mass-spectrometry, by the example of plague agent strains. Materials and methods. MALDI-TOF mass-spectrometry was deployed for the obtainment of mass-spectra of ribosomal proteins from the microorganisms under investigation with the help of mass-spectrometers - Microflex LT. Results and conclusions. Carried out was comparative analysis of the obtained mass-spectra of 10 Y. pestis strains and reference spectra of Y. tuberculosis , contained in commercial data base of MALDI Biotyper 3.1 (Bruker Daltonics, Germany). Developed data base was validated in the process of identification of plague microbe strains, isolated in the territory of natural plague foci of the Russian Federation. That data base provided for correct identification of Y. pestis strains up to a species
Management of Diagnostic Investigations at the Premises of Specialized Anti-Epidemic Team Mobile Complex at the Time of Running Mass Events
Laboratory support of epidemiological surveillance plays a significant role in the provision of sanitary-epidemiological welfare of the population at the time of preparations to and carrying out public events. Generalized diffusion processes
Diffusion processes serve as a mathematical model for the physical phenomenon of diffusion. One of the most important problems in the theory of diffusion processes is the development of methods for constructing these processes from a given diffusion matrix and a given drift vector. Focusing on the investigation of this problem, this book is intended for specialists in the theory of random processes and its applications. A generalized diffusion process (that is, a continuous Markov process for which the Kolmogorov local characteristics exist in the generalized sense) can serve as a model for diffusion in a medium moving in a nonregular way. The author constructs generalized diffusion processes under two assumptions: first, that the diffusion matrix is sufficiently regular; and second, that the drift vector is a function integrable to some power, or is a generalized function of the type of the derivative of a measure
