The old library background from the University of Seville

El artículo se inicia con una historia de la formación del patrimonio bibliográfico de la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Sevilla desde la creación de la biblioteca por Rodrigo Fernández de Santaella, a principios del siglo XVI, hasta la actualidad. Un segundo apartado analiza los fondos, y por último se describen los procesos de gestión de la colección que afectan al acceso –catalogación e información bibliográfica y referencia--, la política de conservación, y los proyectos de difusión a través de las redes sociales, la digitalización y las exposiciones.This article begins with a history of the bibliographical heritage of the Library of the University of Seville, from the first steps of the library, created by Rodrigo Fernández de Santaella, in the beginnings of the XVIth Century, until today. A second part of the article analizes the rare book and manuscript collection and describes several processes related with management of the library: access –mainly reference services and cataloging--, preservation police, use of social networks, digitalisation proyect and virtual exhibitions

Este artículo tiene como objetivo la edición del manuscrito inédito de la relación del auto de fe celebrado en Granada en 1615, e incluye un texto introductorio que busca contextualizar el auto en el marco de la historia de la Inquisición, especialmente del Tribunal de Granada, y la transcripción del manuscrito. El manuscrito forma parte de un facticio custodiado en la Biblioteca de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Sevilla y responde, en líneas generales, al modelo más generalizado de estas cronicas, que contiene la descripción de la arquitectura efímera levantada, la calidad y los nombres de los participantes en las diferentes procesiones, la lectura de las sentencias y la descripción del último suplicio, en este caso, de una única relajada al brazo secular.The objetc of this article is the edition of the unpublished manuscript of the relacion of the Auto de fe” celebrated in Granada in 1615, and includes an introductory text contextualizing the Auto in the mark of the history of the Spanish Inquisition, 336 Eduardo Peñalver Gómez JANUS 11 (2022) especially of the inquisitorial court of Granada, including la transcription of the manuscript. The manuscript is parti of a volume hold in the Biblioteca de la Facultad de Derecho de la University of Seville and it responds, in general lines, to the model more generalized of these chronicles, which contains the description of the ephemeral architecture (podiums, stands, decoration of the streets and squares), quality, composition and number of the participants in the different processions, the public reading of the sentences and the description of the execution, in this case, of a single woman delivered to the secular arm

La imprenta en Sevilla en el siglo XVII

La Imprenta en Sevilla en el siglo XVII es una investigación sobre el la tipografía sevillana entre 1601 y 1700, consistente por una parte en un estudio de la actividad de impresores y editores sevillanos, y por otra en el inventariado de toda la producción tipográfica sevillana conocida en ese periodo, dando cuenta tanto de las ediciones y, dentro de éstas, de las variantes, como del mayor número posible de ejemplares. De resultas de las búsquedas realizadas se han identificado aproximadamente 4.300 ediciones, haciéndose las descripciones, cuando ha sido posible, consultando los ejemplares físicos, sucedáneos digitales, o reproducciones de portadas y preliminares. Las descripciones y el plan de trabajo sigue básicamente las líneas propuestas en anteriores tipobibliografías españolas, y se enmarca dentro del programa Tipobibliografía Española. La tesis se inicia con una primera parte introductoria que aborda aspectos metodológicos y desarrolla algunos epígrafes dedicados a la historia de la imprenta sevillana, como son: la descripción del contexto general y local en que se desarrolla la actividad impresora y editorial, el papel de las dedicatorias, el análisis de la producción (que trata de forma individualizada algunos géneros editoriales) y la presencia y el significado de las ilustraciones. Esta primera parte se cierra con un breve estudio de cada uno de los impresores activos en Sevilla en el periodo estudiado. La segunda parte contiene el repertorio de noticias recogidas, ordenado cronológicamente y, dentro de cada año, alfabéticamente. Las noticias incluyen una descripción sumaria de la edición, transcripciones semi paleográficas de las portadas y los colofones, consignación de los preliminares e índices, posibles variantes, bibliografía y fuentes. Finalmente se facilita información de la localización de los ejemplares identificados. La última parte de la tesis contiene los índices de autores y títulos de obras anónimas, autores secundarios, impresores, mecenas y dedicatarios, autores de poesías preliminares y primeros versos, e ilustradores

Ratones knock-out del receptor lpa1 de ácido lisofosfatídico presentan un acusado déficit de la isoenzima glutaminasa KGA (GLS) y una morfología alterada en las espinas dendríticas de hipocampo y corteza

Objectives: The objective of the present study was to utilize mice with knocked-down lysophosphatidic acid 1 (LPA1) receptor to ascertain changes in glutamatergic transmission that may help to explain part of the cognitive and memory deficits shown by these KO-LPA1 mice. Material & methods: A well characterized KO-LPA1 mouse strain was used as animal model and compared with wild-type (WT) and heterozygous animals. Expression studies were implemented by immunohistochemistry and Western analysis of mouse brain regions, real-time quantitative RT-PCR of GA isoforms, enzymatic analysis of regional GA activity and Golgi staining to assess dendritic spine morphology and density. Results: A strong reduction of KGA immunoreactivity was mostly revealed in cerebral cortex and hippocampus of KO-LPA1 mice versus WT and heterozygous animals. In contrast, neither mRNA levels nor enzyme activity were significantly altered in KO mice suggesting compensatory mechanisms for neurotransmitter Glu synthesis. Interestingly, Golgi staining of hippocampal and cortical neurons revealed a clear morphology change toward a less-mature undifferentiated spine phenotype, without changes in the total number of spines. Conclusions: The molecular mechanisms underlying KGA downregulation in null LPA1 mutant mice are unknown. However, LPA increases neuronal differentiation, arborization and neurite outgrowth of developing neurons, while Gln-derived Glu, through GA reaction, has been also involved in neuronal growth and differentiation. It is tempting to speculate that downregulation of KGA protein in KO-LPA1 mice induce morphological changes in dendritic spines of cortical and hippocampal neurons which, in turn, may account for memory and cognitive deficits shown by KO-LPA1 mice.Universidad de Málaga. Genomic mutation profile in progressive chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients prior to first-line chemoimmunotherapy with FCR and rituximab maintenance (REM)

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is the most prevalent leukemia in Western countries and is notable for its variable clinical course. This variability is partly reflected by the mutational status of IGHV genes. Many CLL samples have been studied in recent years by next-generation sequencing. These studies have identified recurrent somatic mutations in NOTCH1, SF3B1, ATM, TP53, BIRC3 and others genes that play roles in cell cycle, DNA repair, RNA metabolism and splicing. In this study, we have taken a deep-targeted massive sequencing approach to analyze the impact of mutations in the most frequently mutated genes in patients with CLL enrolled in the REM (rituximab en mantenimiento) clinical trial. The mutational status of our patients with CLL, except for the TP53 gene, does not seem to affect the good results obtained with maintenance therapy with rituximab after front-line FCR treatment
