Adopting Product Modularity in House Building to Support Mass Customisation
Product modularity is a concept that can contribute to the improvement of product quality and production efficiency in house-building. However, there is a lack of consensus in the literature on the concepts that define product modularity. Furthermore, little attention has been given to the differences between building construction and manufacturing, for which product modularity was originally developed. This research aims to address that gap by adapting the conceptualization of product modularity so that it can effectively be used in the house-building industry. The methodological approach adopted in this study was Design Science Research, and two empirical studies were carried out on construction companies based in Brazil and in the U.K. Those studies are used to illustrate the applicability and utility of the proposed concepts and tools. Research findings indicate that the adoption of product modularity concepts results in benefits to both traditional construction technologies and prefabricated

Second and third class particles in TASEP
We consider the nearest neighbors one-dimensional totally asymmetric simple
exclusion process starting with ones to the left of the origin, a second class
particle at the origin, a third class particle at site 1 and no particles to
the right of site 1. We show that the probability that the third class
particle is to the right of the second class particle at time converges to
as . We also consider the asymmetric exclusion
process with transition rates having a positive mean and show that if the
system starts with a product measure with densities to the left
and right of the origin, respectively, then the position of the second class
particle at time divided by converges in distribution to a uniform
random variable in the interval , extending a

Assessment of antimicrobial activity of textiles for wound dressing: methodology optimization
Normally, the skin is capable of restore the tissue integrity, after wound injury. However, the deposition of bacteria on the wound site results on infection causing pain and healing delay. To control bacteria proliferation, antimicrobial textiles have been developed, and the assessment of their activity is a required step. Although, several standard methods were published to assess textiles antimicrobial activity, they are time and material consuming and have some shortcomings with regard to the real conditions of use. Therefore, the aim of this work was to optimize the method described on JIS L 1902:2008-Testing for antibacterial activity and efficacy on textile products, the most commonly used standard.
Two textile samples were used: A-cotton without treatment (control) and B-cotton with 10% of the recommend concentration of Ruco-bac AGP. The microorganism used was Staphylococcus aureus-ATCC 6538.
The first improvement was sample size. On the qualitative method, square samples with 1x1cm2 were used instead 2.5x2.5cm2 (suggested by the standard). For sample A no antimicrobial activity was observed and for sample B the halo size was similar for both sizes used. For the quantitative method, the samples used had 0.4g (standard suggestion) and 0.1g. Sample A had the same bacterial growth before and after contact with the fabric and sample B had no bacterial growth. With this improvement, the amount of sample and solutions need for the test was reduced four times.
To reduce the use of disposable material, instead of 50mL falcons, 6 well plates were used. In this case, no bacteria were recovered from the sample A after incubation period on 6 well plates. These means, that the centrifugation is a crucial step to detach all bacteria from the fabric.
The effect of the bacterial inoculum volume was also assessed. Three inoculum volumes (250, 100 and 50µL) were added to 0,1g samples. No significant differences were observed for both samples.
A healthy skin has 105bacteria/cm2 and up to this value it is considered that the skin is infected. Therefore, 3 inoculum concentrations were tested-3x105, 3x106, 3x107cell/mL. The results showed that the inoculum concentration had no significant changes for both samples after the incubation period.
In conclusion, it is possible to use samples 4 times smaller than the standard suggestion, use higher inoculum volume to simulate wound exudate and higher concentration, to accurately predict the sample behaviour on an infected skin
Binational immigration entrepreneurs : an historical discussion
In general these are poor immigrants with little knowledge of local language, laws and customs, who spend their savings paying intermediaries to help them get established in the country, to which they are attracted by promises of employment. The reality of this process, however, is different from the promises. This kind of relationship already existed in the 19th and early 20th centuries, when immigration entrepreneurs participated in the colonization process, attracting immigrants and regularizing settlements. This article discusses the intermediary role of such agents in historical perspective, focusing on the activities of a 19th century immigration entrepreneur in Rio Grande do Sul and his relations with settlers in the colony he established
The present work sought to analyze within the scope of Museology two representations of museums in cinema, from the movies Black Panther (USA, 2018) and Bacurau (BRA,2019) contemporary productions that are part of what is defined as pop culture. Initially, it is presented the concept of pop culture and representation in constant dialogue with the cinematographic world. In a second moment, the monograph is dedicated to presenting and analyzing the two works, highlighting the relevance of each one in their respective niches, in addition to their awards, synopsis and particularities. Then, the research reaches its main objective, and observes the different museums represented by the feature films, one attributed to the Colonial Place, and the other to the Decolonial Place. The research ends by reflecting on the cultural aesthetics of Afrofuturism, present in both films, as well as problematizing certain aspects in the field of museums in dialogue with the decolonial reflections present in the New Museology. Through a filmic and conceptual reflection, the goal is to contribute to the debate on the importance of representing the different faces and phases of museums in the contemporary world
Pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm associated colloid carcinoma
Funding Information: Acknowledgments: Special thanks to Celso Matos, MD/PhD, for assistance with manuscrip preparation. The authors received no financial support for the publication of this article. Publisher Copyright: © 2021Colloid carcinomas are rare pancreatic tumors characterized by the presence of mucin pools with scarce malignant cells. Most of these neoplasms arise from intestinal-type intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs). We report a case of a 77-year-old male patient who presented with weight loss, asthenia, lumbar pain and diabetes. Imaging studies revealed a mixed-type IPMN with high-risk features and a possible invasive component. The patient underwent surgical resection and the histology confirmed an invasive colloid carcinoma of the pancreas associated with an intestinal-type IPMN. Although invasive ductal and colloid carcinomas may look similar on imaging studies, its distinction is important because the latter have a better prognosis.publishersversionpublishe
