Real-time imaging and tracking of microrobots in tissues using ultrasound phase analysis
Ultrasound B-mode imaging has been employed to monitor single agents and collective swarms of microrobots in vitro and ex vivo in controlled experimental conditions. However, low contrast and spatial resolution still limit the effective employment of such a method in a medical microrobotic scenario. Doppler-based ultrasound appears as a promising tool for tracking microrobots in echogenic and dynamic environments as biological tissues. In this Letter, we demonstrate that microrobot displacements can be used as a special signature for their visualization within echogenic media, where B-mode fails. To this aim, we induced vibrations of a magnetic soft microrobot through alternated magnetic fields and used ultrasound phase analysis to derive microrobot features such as size and position over time. By exploiting vibrations, we were able to perform imaging and tracking of a low contrast microrobot both in tissue-mimicking phantom and in chicken breast. The axial resolution was 38 μm, which is four times smaller than the B-mode resolution with the employed equipment. We also performed real-time tracking of the microrobot's positions along linear trajectories with a linear velocity up to 1 mm/s. Overall, the reported results pave the way for the application of the proposed approach for the robust monitoring of medical microrobots in tissue
Efektivitas Kunyit (Curcuma Domestica) sebagai Pereduksi Formalin pada Tahu
The use of formalin increasingly widely circulated among sellers tahu, because nature tahu easily broken then the sellers know much use out using formalin. Turmeric has active compounds that issaponin. It can be used to minimize the presence of formaldehyde in tahu This study used tahu immersed in 5% formalin solution added a solution of turmeric. The research carried on in the Laboratory of the Polytechnic Palembang Health Nutrition Department. Determination of formaldehyde using a spectrophotometer test. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a model of Factorial three factors, namely soaking treatment (60 minutes, 75 minutes, 90 minutes) giving a solution of Turmeric (0 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %) and storage factor (0, 24, 48, 72 hours). The parameters used are formaldehyde levels and organoleptic test. These results indicate that treatment of soaking time did not significantly affect the levels of formaldehyde in tahu that F count -0.022 smaller than F table 6.94. Treatment addition of turmeric solution concentration does not significantly affect the levels of formaldehyde at 0.864 tahu that F count is smaller than F table 3.16. The storage time treatment also did not significantly affect the levels of formaldehyde in tahu that F count -11.16 smaller than 2.73. However, the interaction between the immersion treatment, turmeric solution concentration and storage time significantly affect the levels of formaldehyde in the tahu, namely 282.16 F count larger than F table 1.75. And the results of organoleptic able to change the texture of aroma and color in tahu with decreasing levels of formaldehyde in tahu. In this study, formaldehyde levels lowest in 90 minutes soaking treatment, the concentration of 20 % deposit 72 hours
Description of Knowledge, Attitude, and Act Girls Teenager on Breast Self Examination (BSE) at Budi Murni 1 Chatolic Senior High School Medan in 2014
Breast self examination (BSE) is a way to do a woman to detect early abnormalities in the breast. Generally can be done by girls from the age of productive and has experienced changes the physical characteristics of primary and secondary. BSE goal is to determine whether there is abnormality such as breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the internal factors, external factors, knowledge, attitudes and actions girls about breast self-examination (BSE). Type of research is descriptive research. In this study the number of population is all students of class XII SMA Katolik Budi Murni 1Medan as many as 200 people and sampled as many as 62 people. Sampling techniques using simple random sampling technique. Data collected by using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the analysis of the study found adolescent knowledge about BSE were in the category of less than 61.3%. Student attitudes regarding BSE is in good enough category of 54.8%. And student action against BSE no middle category (74.2%). From these results it is expected that the school, parents, and caregivers around can play an active role in providing information about methods of early detection of breast self-examination and breast cancer in the students
Long Non Coding RNA in Triple Negative Breast Cancer: A Promising Biomarker in Tumorigenesis
Globally, Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an unsurpassed variant of breast cancer (BC) with a very high fatality rate, and disease burden. Nevertheless, the deficit of diagnostic markers and focused treatment are major hurdles for potent therapeutics. They are also the reason for bad outcomes and causes of a worse prognosis and a high rate of flare up in patients with TNBC diagnosis. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA) are a new class of molecules that have recently gained interest in healthcare management due to their potential as biomarkers for human diseases especially cancers. The growing interest in lncRNA in clinical practice has created an unmet need for developing assays to test lncRNA quickly and accurately for early diagnostics. These lncRNA modulate multiple stages of tumor development, including growth, proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and metastases, by controlling several genes and changing metabolic networks. Highly invasive phenotype and chemo resistance are prominent characteristics of TNBC subtypes that require accurate diagnostic and prognostic instruments involving lncRNA. This review focusses on the evolving purpose and coalition of lncRNAs in TNBC and accentuates their capable effects in diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Moreover, the extensive literature analysis of our review creates an opportunity in the translational application concerning the TNBC lncRNAs described until now. The depiction of lncRNAs enrolled in TNBC is comprehensive, and sufficient substantiation studies are the need of the hour to authenticate the current outcomes and create imminent upcoming of elemental research setting into clinical practice
Knowledge, empathy, and willingness to counsel patients with HIV among Indonesian pharmacists:a national survey of stigma
This study aimed to assess the level of HIV treatment knowledge, empathy, and HIV stigma of pharmacy students and pharmacists working with patients as well as potential factors associated with stigma. This survey included 250 hospital pharmacists within 33 provinces and 1013 final-year pharmacy students from Java, the most populated island in Indonesia. The data were collected via Qualtrics® and distributed by WhatsApp. The mean age of the participants was (Mean ± SD) 24.68 ± 5.30 years, and 80.0% were female. The mean knowledge score of students and pharmacists were 14.14 ± 2.01 and 15.39 ± 1.87, respectively, out of the maximum score of 21. The mean empathy score of students and pharmacists was 72.06 ± 5.39 and 77.40 ± 1.35, respectively out of the maximum score of 105. The mean stigma score of students and pharmacists was 21.02 ± 4.65 and 20.66 ± 4.41, respectively, out of a maximum score of 48. Regression analysis showed that knowledge, empathy, and willingness to counsel patients were negatively associated with stigma. Working with patients was positively associated with stigma. A multi-level intervention including education may reduce stigma and strengthen the role of pharmacists in caring for patients
Health-related quality of life and functional changes in DMD:A 12-month longitudinal cohort study
Family caregivers of people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) live stressful lives in which they spend most of their time caring for their loved ones and managing difficult situations, thereby reducing the time spent in taking care of themselves. This situation may last several years. Previous literature has widely highlighted that this situation reduces caregivers' quality of life and increases their psychological distress and risk of health problems, but there is a lack of studies that focus on psychological interventions for these situations. This qualitative study examined a pilot experience of two mutual support groups for family caregivers of people with ALS. The aim was to identify caregivers' needs, the prominent aspects of their experience, and to understand whether and how this intervention strategy might help them. Six partners (four men and two women) and six adult children (five women and one man) participated in the groups, which were conducted in northern Italy. After the support groups finished, participants underwent semi-structured interviews. The authors conducted a content analysis of the transcripts of the interviews and the 20 group sessions. The thematic areas identified were "caregiving," "being the son/daughter of a person with ALS," "being the partner of a person with ALS," "group experience" and "group evaluation." The caregiving experience was profoundly different depending on whether the caregiver was a son/daughter or a partner of a patient with ALS. Moreover, comparison with peers and mutual support helped participants to better cope with ALS and its consequences, to improve their care for their relatives and to overcome typical caregiver isolation. These results suggest the usefulness of involving communities in caregiver support in order to create new networks and activate personal and social resources for well-being
