    IDENTIFICATIOS OF NEMATODE EGGS IN PIG’S FAECES IN KALASEY SATU MANDOLANG, DISTRICT OF MINAHASA OF SULAWESI UTARA PROVINCE. This study aims to determine and identify parasitic nematode worms through examination of worm eggs in pig feces. The number of worm eggs indicates the level of parasitic attack. Therefore, this study uses samples of pig manure collected from pigs in the Kalasey Satu Village, Mandolang District, Minahasa Regency. Samples will be tested using the floating method to see worm eggs. Worm egg identification was carried out in the laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UNSRAT and analyzed descriptively and the number of worm eggs was calculated to see the level of attack on pigs. The results of this study found that from 23 pigs that had taken their faecal samples, 8 faecal samples were identified as being infected with Ascaris sp. and 1 of them was infested with Oesophagustomum sp. Three faecal samples from 3 month old pigs infected by Ascaris sp 2 samples containing Ascaris sp. and 1 sample containing Oesophagustomum sp.); 5 fecal samples of sows containing Ascaris sp. The conclusion of this study, that pigs that are in the area of Kalasey Satu Village have been infected by Ascaris sp. and Oesophagustomum sp. with a preavalence of 30,4% and 4,3%.  Livestock conditions, feeding patterns and the environment around the cage are verry supportive of the growth and propagation of the intermediate host of endoparasites. Keywords: Egg, nematode, feces, pi

    REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE BEEF CATTLE OF ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IN THE DISTRICT OF NORTH TOMBATU AND SUB DISTRICT OF RATAHAN.   The porpose of this study to know appearance of reproduction beef cattle artificial insemination in the northern Tombatu District and the Sub District of Ratahan in the Southeast Minahasa Regency.  Research the everage valve standard deviation and coefficient of diversity.  Based on research results that service preconception 1.25-1.30, conception rate 70-75%, calving interval 366.4-377.55 and length of pregnancy 279.25-281.1 day.     Teknologi Inseminasi Buatan adalah suatu teknologi yang berkembang saat ini dalam rangka meningkatkan produktivitas ternak sapi. Teknologi telah dikenal oleh masyarakat bahkan beberapa petani telah mengadopsi teknologi tersebut. Permasalahannya belum semua petani dapat memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengkaji sejauhmana kebijakan pemerintah dalam menerapkan teknologi Inseminasi Buatan. Metode penelitian adalah metode survei dengan teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah metode PRA. Lokasi sampel ditentukan secara purposive yaitu kecamatan yang telah memanfaatkan teknologi Inseminasi Buatan. Responden adalah peternak yang telah memanfaatkan teknologi Inseminasi Buatan. Responden kunci adalah pejabat Dinas Pertanian Peternakan dan Inseminator. Analisis data adalah deskriptif. Ternak sapi di wilayah penelitian menjadi unggulan masyarakat sebagai sumber pendapatan mereka. Pengembangan ternak sapi ditunjang oleh ketersediaan sumberdaya lokal. Strategi dan kebijakan pemerintah dalam mendorong peningkatan populasi ternak sapi adalah dicanangkan kebijakan optimalisasi inseminasi buatan. Pemerintah juga membuat kebijakan penyediaan sarana prasaran diantaranya tersedianya pos Inseminasi Buatan yang layak untuk tiap satu kecamatan. Kebijakan yang lain adalah mengadakan pelatihan inseminator. Kebijakan ini direspon baik oleh petani sapi potong. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebijakan introduksi Inseminasi Buatan membantu petani dalam meningkatkan produktivitas ternak sapi potong. Petani yang telah mengikuti program Inseminasi Buatan 100 persen menghasilkan anak. Saran perlu sosialisasi kebijakan yang telah dicanangkan pemerintah. Kata kunci : Kebijakan, introduksi, teknologi, inseminasi buatanARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION TECHNOLOGY  INTRODUCTION POLICY Artificial Insemination Technology was a technology that was developing in order to increase the productivity of cattle. Technology was known to the public and even some farmers had adopted this technology. The problem was that not all farmers can take advantage of this technology. This research was conducted with the aim of examining the extent of government policies in implementing Artificial Insemination technology. The research method was a survey method with the data collection technique used was the PRA method. The location of the sample was determined purposively, namely the districts that had used Artificial Insemination technology. Respondents were farmers who had used Artificial Insemination technology. Key respondents were officials from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Inseminators. The data analysis was descriptive. Cattle in the research area were the community's leading sources of income. Cattle development was supported by the availability of local resources. The government's strategy and policy in encouraging an increase in the population of cattle was the implementation of an artificial insemination optimization policy. The government had also made a policy for providing infrastructure, including the availability of appropriate Artificial Insemination posts for each district. Another policy was to hold inseminator training. This policy had been responded well by cattle farmers. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the introduction of Artificial Insemination policy helps farmers in increasing the productivity of cattle. Farmers who had followed the Artificial Insemination program 100 percent produce calves.     IDENTIFICATION OF ALPHA MALE BLACK MONKEY (Macaca nigra) BEHAVIOR IN THE NATURE RESERVE TANGKOKO. This study aims to get the latest specific data regarding behavior Alpha male / Rambo dominant male in the group 1 in the nature reserve Tangkoko. Materials used 1 Monkey Black Male Dominant (Alpha Male) in group 1 residing Rambo in Tangkoko Nature Reserve Batuangus Bitung, North Sulawesi. The data obtained are analyzed and presented descriptively in the form of graphs or histograms. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded as follows: (1) The most long-standing activity Alpha Male / Male Dominance in the morning is locomotion and foraging and agonistic. During the day are: foraging, locomotion, grooming, and inactive. (2) Activities are at least done either in the morning or during the day is the mating activity (coitus).     Weight gain, feed consumption and the efficiency of growing pigs to slaughter with palm sugar in drinking water. The production performances by looking at weight gain, consumption and feed efficiency is part of the requirements to see pig production capabilities. The study lasted 10 weeks consisting of 8-week data collection period and 2 weeks of data collecting preliminary aims to determine the effect of the use of palm sugar in the drinking water to the performances of  grower to finisher productivities of pigs. The study used 16 mix male and female pigs period grower 12-14 week-old offspring of type cross-bred Yorkshire and Landrace. The experimental design used in this research was Block Randomized Experimental Design with four levels of treatment as follows 0, 2%, 4%, 6% palm sugar in drinking water in four different weight groups as replication. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the use of palm sugar in drinking water on weight gain (0,57- 0,65 kg) significantly effect (P <0.05), while the amount of consumption (2,56- 2,64 kg)  and feed efficiency (0,22-0,25) were not significantly different (P> 0.05), however the amount of water consumption drink (6,57-8,91 litre) indicates the effect of significantly (P <0.05). The use of palm sugar in drinking water in pigs grower phase until finisher can deliver good growth despite the amount of consumption and the efficiency of feed use remains the same.   Key words ; Grower, finisher, palm suga

    PENAMPILAN REPRODUKSI TERNAK SAPI POTONG DI KECAMATAN BINTAUNA KABUPATEN BOLAANG MONGONDOW UTARA

    REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF BEEF CATTLE IN BINTAUNA DISTRICT OF NORTH BOLAANG MONGONDOW REGENCY. This study was conducted to evaluate the reproduction performance of beef cattle in Bintauna district of North Bolaang Mongondow regency. Reproductive performance was studied to determine the productivity of livestock especially in population increase and availability of meat. This research used samples of farmer as breeder of beef cattle. The selections of village samples were determined purposively by consideration of the villages with the largest population of livestock including the villages of Pimpi, Kopi, and Bintauna. Selection of respondents using random sampling method involved 10 farmers for each selected village, with the total of 30 farmers as respondents. Data of the variables were analyzed using descriptive analysis model. The results showed that the age of puberty animal was 12.03 ± 4.81 months, service per conception was 1.19, conception rate was 73%, pregnancy period was 276 ± 2.53 days, and calving interval was 366 ± 3.21 days. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the reproduction of beef cattle in Bintauna district of North Bolaang Mongondow regency was categorized into good performance. Keyword: Reproduction performance, beef cattle, Bintauna distric
