Consistency Conditions for AdS/CFT Embeddings
The group embeddings used in orbifolding the AdS/CFT correspondence to arrive
at quiver gauge field theories are studied for both supersymmetric and
non-supersymmetric cases. For an orbifold the
conditions for embeddings of the finite group in the
isotropy of are stated in the form of consistency rules, both for Abelian

An Explicit SU(12) Family and Flavor Unification Model
An explicit SUSY SU(12) unification model with three light chiral families is
presented which avoids any external flavor symmetries. The hierarchy of quark
and lepton masses and mixings is explained by higher dimensional Yukawa
interactions involving Higgs bosons containing SU(5) singlet fields with VEVs
appearing at or below the SUSY GUT scale of 2 \times 10^{16} GeV, approximately
50 times smaller than the SU(12) unification scale. The model has been found to
be in good agreement with the observed quark and lepton masses and mixings,
with nearly all prefactors of O(1) in the four Dirac and one Majorana fermion

Extra dimensions and Strong Neutrino-Nucleon interactions above eV : Breaking the GZK Barrier
Cosmic ray events above eV are on the verge of confronting
fundamental particle physics. The neutrino is the only candidate primary among
established particles capable of crossing 100 Mpc intergalactic distances
unimpeded. The magnitude of cross sections indicated by events, plus
consistency with the Standard Model at low-energy, point to new physics of
massive spin-2 exchange. In models based on extra dimensions, we find that the
cross section rises to typical hadronic values of between 1 and 100 mb
at energies above eV. Our calculations take into account constraints
of unitarity. We conclude that air-showers observed with energies above
eV are consistent with neutrino primaries and extra-dimension models.
An {\it upper bound} of 1-10 TeV on the mass scale at which graviton exchange

Classification of SUSY and non-SUSY Chiral Models from Abelian Orbifolds AdS/CFT
We classify compactifications of the type IIB superstring on AdS_{5} x
S^{5}/\Gamma, where \Gamma is an abelian group of order n<= 12. Appropriate
embedding of \Gamma in the isometry of S^5 yields both SUSY and non-SUSY chiral
models that can contain the minimal SUSY standard model or the standard model.
New non-SUSY three family models with \Gamma=Z_8 are introduced, which lead to

A Classification and Analysis of Higgs-flavor Models
A classification is given of Higgs-flavor models. In these models, there are
several Higgs doublets in an irreducible multiplet R_{Phi} of a non-abelian
symmetry G_{Phi}, under which the quarks and leptons do not transform (thus
giving minimal flavor-changing for the fermions). It is found that different
G_{Phi} and R_{Phi} lead to very distinctive spectra of the extra Higgs
doublets, including different numbers of "sequential Higgs" and of "inert
Higgs" that could play the role of dark matter, different mass relations, and
different patterns of SU(2)_L-breaking splittings within the Higgs doublets.Comment: 35 page
Representing Structural Information of Helical Charge Distributions in Cylindrical Coordinates
Structural information in the local electric field produced by helical charge
distributions, such as dissolved DNA, is revealed in a straightforward manner
employing cylindrical coordinates. Comparison of structure factors derived in
terms of cylindrical and helical coordinates is made. A simple coordinate
transformation serves to relate the Green function in cylindrical and helical
coordinates. We also compare the electric field on the central axis of a single

Visualizations for an Explainable Planning Agent
In this paper, we report on the visualization capabilities of an Explainable
AI Planning (XAIP) agent that can support human in the loop decision making.
Imposing transparency and explainability requirements on such agents is
especially important in order to establish trust and common ground with the
end-to-end automated planning system. Visualizing the agent's internal
decision-making processes is a crucial step towards achieving this. This may
include externalizing the "brain" of the agent -- starting from its sensory
inputs, to progressively higher order decisions made by it in order to drive
its planning components. We also show how the planner can bootstrap on the
latest techniques in explainable planning to cast plan visualization as a plan
explanation problem, and thus provide concise model-based visualization of its
plans. We demonstrate these functionalities in the context of the automated
