Successful Treatment of a Neonate with Idiopathic Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension with Inhaled Nitric Oxide via Nasal Cannula without Mechanical Ventilation.
We report a case study of a term neonate presenting with oxygen desaturation without respiratory distress or acidosis, despite receiving 100% oxygen through a nasal cannula. Echocardiogram showed evidence of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). She was successfully treated with inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) via nasal cannula without requiring mechanical ventilation. In a term neonate with idiopathic PPHN with adequate respiratory drive without any parenchymal lung disease, noninvasive methods of iNO delivery may treat the condition without the complications associated with mechanical ventilation
Rotor performance characteristics from an aeroacoustic helicopter wind-tunnel test program
An investigation of helicopter rotor noise at model scale was conducted in the Langley 4 by 7 meter tunnel. The program described was the first of a planned three-phase project whose purpose was to examine the characteristic noise mechanism involved in main rotor/tail rotor interaction noise. This first phase was conducted with a main rotor only, in order to identify the characteristic noise generated by only the main rotor. The aerodynamic operating conditions of the rotor system were defined during the test. The acoustic data were properly referenced
Report to the Women's Fund of Central Ohio: Economic Self-Sufficiency for Women in Central Ohio - Key Data and Concepts
To inform the work of The Women's Fund, a need was identified for data specific to the economic status of women in central Ohio. Beginning in the fall of 2013, to obtain this information The Women's Fund commissioned Illuminology to conduct research on this topic. By applying a gender lens to the issue of economic security, the financial status of women becomes clear. With this knowledge, together we can begin to create solutions as well as build on existing successes to address these issues as a community
How Will Energy Demand Develop in the Developing World?
Most of the medium-run growth in energy demand is forecast to come from the developing world, which consumed more total units of energy than the developed world in 2007. We argue that the main driver of the growth is likely to be increased incomes among the poor and near-poor. We document that as households come out of poverty and join the middle class, they acquire appliances, such as refrigerators, and vehicles for the first time. These new goods require energy to use and energy to manufacture. The current forecasts for energy demand in the developing world may be understated because they do not accurately capture the dramatic increase in demand associated with poverty reduction.

Strengthening Nutrition Sector Governance: Lessons from the WINNN Programme
Northern Nigeria has a high prevalence of child malnutrition, with around 10% of children (aged 6–59 months) acutely malnourished, one-third underweight, and over 50% stunted. This brief summarises learning about strengthening nutrition sector governance from the Working to Improve Nutrition in Northern Nigeria (WINNN) programme, which was implemented in five states in northern Nigeria (Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara and Yobe) and at the federal level.UK Department for International Developmen
