    No full text
The paper presents an approach to assessing structural states of space vehicles (complex organizational and technical objects) with support of taking decisions on their life cycle control. The analysis of the subject area showed the need to apply the new intellectual information technology presented in the article to the design of both the information system of a complex organizational and technical object, and the related systems for monitoring structural states and decision support as part of such an information system. We consider a version of a generalized computational model as a theoretical basis of this technology. The version discussed is a unified knowledge representation model that integrates a number of methods and approaches of the Artificial Intelligence theory and makes it possible to construct imitation-analytical polymodel complexes for monitoring states and controlling complex organizational and technical objects. The article shows that applying this technology allows comprehensive assessment of the technical state and reliability of the monitored object. The article also provides a brief overview of the software complex that solves the problems of estimating the structural states of space vehicles. The software complex is implemented on the basis of the examined intellectual information technology

Multi-model Description of Monitoring and Control Systems of Natural and Technological Objects

    No full text
The paper discusses theoretical foundations of a formal description of monitoring and control systems (MTSs) that are used for the monitoring and control of various natural and technological systems (NTSs). The performed state-of-the- art analysis has demonstrated that the theory, methods and techniques related to the application of various types of models, such as mathematical, logical-algebraic, logical-linguistic, simulation and combined ones, for describing NTO MCS are widely used. On that basis, a conceptual description of NTO monitoring and control systems is proposed. It is based on a concept of NTO MCS multi-model description. The proposed general model includes particular dynamic models that describe motion control, channel control, operation control, flow control, resource control, operation parameter control, structure dynamic control, and auxiliary operation control of the considered monitoring and control system. The proposed interpretation of NTO MCS structure dynamics control processes provides advantages of applying the modern optimal control theory to NTO MCS analysis and synthesis

The comprehensive monitoring technology for complex natural-technical objects inducing high risk of technogenic accidents in the case of malfunction is considered. Nuclear power stations, hydroelectric power stations, chemical production, etc. are the afford examples of such objects. The new intelligent monitoring technology (IMT) developed is based on interdisciplinary methodology of creation and application of any information technology. Unlike existing systems, the IMT is universal, it includes the combined methods and algorithms of decision making in various classes of monitoring problems, forecasting and safety control of complex objects regardless to their appointment. The paper presents the basic setup and expected results of joint work St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia) and Riga Technical University (Latvia)

Monitoring the Precession of Gas Turbine Engines Rotor Systems and Evaluating the State of Inter-Rotor Bearings

. Evaluation of the technical condition of gas turbine units, widely used in power engineering, oil and gas industry and aviation, is an important and complex scientific and technical problem. One of the most important elements that has a significant impact on the quality and reliability of the gas turbine unit is its rotor system. Dynamic mechanical interaction between the rotors and inter-shaft bearing caused by counterphase motion of the mass centers of the rotors or the precession axes can lead to a sudden failures causing bearing breakage in the two-loop gas turbine engines. It has been assumed in the paper that sudden failures are caused by accumulated, total fatigue of the bearing material arising because of shock cyclic bearing loads due to the precession of the rotors. It has been shown that the technical condition could be evaluated using vibration monitoring the precessional motion of the rotors and constructing its trajectory in the normalized, using the fatigue curve of the material, phase plane. Using the new intellectual technology of automated estimation of control object state with use of concepts “programming without programming” and the level intersection theory, vibration curves and phase trajectories were analyzed to determine the characteristics of load cycles. This makes it possible to estimate the residual resource value of the inter-rotor bearing assembly. The proposed approach possesses essential scientific novelty to the estimation of the effect of vibrations on individual units and mechanisms of gas turbine systems and can be used for creating compact field-level devices
