Effect of Wiggler Magnetic Field on Second Harmonic Generation in Quantum Plasma

Get PDF
Second harmonic generation due to linearly polarized laser pulse propagating through quantum plasma immersed in a transverse wiggler magnetic field is studied using the quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model. The effects associated with the Fermi pressure, the Bohm potential and the electron spin have been taken into account. Wiggler magnetic field plays both a dynamic role in producing the traverse harmonic current as well as kinematical role in ensuring phase-matching. The quantum dispersive effects also contribute to the intensity of second harmonics. Keywords: Quantum plasma, Harmonic generation, Phase matchin

Kishwar Naheed has been a courageous and sovereign expression in sustenance of the talents in Pakistan and has functioned firm to resuscitate vanishing crafts in remote areas, for the past 45 years, Kishwar Naheed was born into a conventional household that educated its sons well and daughters always at receiving ends. Kishwar asserted on advanced learning, she did her masters, and also wrote poetry. She had gone for choice marriage and had to leave her family. She became a civil servant, a career which she followed for 38 years. She was referred on leave for five years when the country was under martial law, she went to court to protest her suspension, and was reinstated. She was briefly in prison in February 1983, along with other women protesters, for protesting against the proposed Law of Evidence that was discriminatory to women. Kishwar used her leave to promote home-based free enterprise among rural women and recover dying crafts in Pakistan’s remote areas. As a writer, too, Kishwar was in distress under martial law. Two of her books were banned, and she was also briefly arrested on charges of spreading antisocial elements. In 1998, Kishwar, then employed as manager general of philosophy, resigned from the service when the minister of philosophy protested to a traditional dance commemoration in the country. This innovator in feminist and confronting literature has produced nine volumes of poetry, Kishwar, who lives in Islamabad, also works as consultant with Action Aid and the Asian Development Bank. My paper aims to focus upon Kishwar’s concept of People and their relation to Society. Through the structural construct the repression and ultimately the emancipation of women. INTRODUCTION: While online learning has the ability to bring students and teachers together in the Distance Education (DE) mode, it is not feasible in the healthcare based professions. AIM: To analyze healthcare students’ perceptions towards online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MATERIALS AND METHOD: This qualitative, focus group-based study was done on the three focus groups consisting of 15 students each: medical, dental and allied sciences. Data were collected using observations from the recordings of the scheduled online interview which was approximately 30-minutes in length and the investigator asked questions from the pre-validated interview guide consisting of seven questions. Data was analyzed using the constant comparative method, which was then consequently categorized into two major areas: positive experiences and negative experiences. Positive experiences included: time flexibility, convenience, ease of connection and ease of learning; while negative experiences included instructor’s inexperience and a lack of interaction, self-motivation, isolation and missing out on practical learning. RESULTS: While responses of the positive experience ranged from “I have the flexibility to wake up few minutes before the lecture and directly log on for the lecture” to “Even during the closure of schools/ classes, I need not worry about lagging behind in my studies”; the negative experiences included statements like “the inexperience of the instructor in handling the teaching software led to difficulties and interruption in learning” and “I am a great loss due to missing patient work!! How am I going to become a good doctor if I don’t practise on patients under supervision of my staff”. CONCLUSION: While students are slowly adapting themselves to online based learning, those belonging to the healthcare sector are missing out on their practical classes which has the potential to hamper the quality of care being provided by them as future professionals

In India, male out-migration from rural to urban areas has increased in recent years, especially in the Indo- Gangetic regions of the country. This indicates that most of the developed regions of India are utilizing labour force of backward areas. The paper has investigated on labour out-migration from the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to find its determinants and its impacts on farm economy. The analysis of determinants shown that the number of members in a family and their educational status have a positive impact on migration. As a result of male out-migration, the women left behind in the villages assume a major role in various farm activities resulting in the so-called ‘feminization of agriculture’. It has also empowered the female members of the migrant households in terms of enhancing their decision-making role in various activities. The study has observed some policy implications in terms of formation of self-help groups or labour societies to help out-migrants, organization of training programmes for capacity building of women, more thrust on education a girl-child and development of infrastructure in the rural areas.Labour migration, Feminization of agriculture, Farm-women empowerment, Impact on farm socio-economy, Agricultural and Food Policy, J61, J23, J31,

Aristotle’s Poetics: Revisiting the Legends of Research

Research from the time of Plato to this day has passed through several phases and stages, which are interconnected in various subtle and complex ways. The present article aims to revisit these phases at a glance from sixteenth century to the present age. The starting point in this historical survey is naturally a brief reference to its fountain head, namely the literary criticism in antiquity. It basically falls into three heads- 1. Hellenic Period, 2. Hellenistic Period, and 3. Graeco Roman period. Among these, Hellenic period is most significant both intrinsically and historically. In this crucial phase Athens is the most important centre and Plato and Aristotle are the most distinguished and outstanding exponents. Friends the problem of literature and Art is- i. What literature ought to be? ii. What it really is

Ethical Uncertainty in Jonathan Franzen’s The Corrections

Get PDF
Contemporary fiction describes the incident and stories placed in present scenario, which is not at all attractive and interesting, because it reveals the realistic structure of the society of which we are the parts. We can address it as a realistic fiction. Contemporary fiction normally focuses on providing people a way into some corner of everyday experience and making us realize others pain. With a famous wording of Michel Foucault, the modern prison system is like “a rather disciplined barracks, a strict school, a dark workshop, but not qualitatively different". According to Foucault, in modern society, the techniques of power imply a disciplinary supplement that causes a certain rational continuity in society – a continuity that fully encircles and subjectifies the modern individual. Jonathan Franzen’s novel The Corrections is in many ways an exemplary literary manifestation of Foucault’s thesis. The paper aims to explore Ethical Uncertainty in Jonathan Franzen’s novel The Corrections. &nbsp

An extension to the neoclassical growth modelto Estimate Growth and Level Effects

Get PDF
The neoclassical growth model was extended by Mankiw, Romer and Weil (1992) to estimate the level effects of additional factors like human capital. We suggest a further extension to capture their permanent growth effects. Time series data from Fiji are used to show that the growth effect of human capital, although small, is significant. Furthermore, in our sample the specifications with a permanent growth effect performed better than specifications with only level effects. The Solow Growth Model; Production Function; Shift Variables; Human Capital Level and Growth Effects

The Effect of Nano Bio Fusion Gel as an Adjunct to Conventional Therapy in Gingivitis Patients

Get PDF
INTRODUCTION: Gingival and periodontal diseases are still the most common prevalent oral diseases affecting a community/individual people and can lead to irreversible consequences, both local (bone loss, tooth mobility etc. ) and systemic (Cardiac Disease etc.)AIM: To compare the efficacy of NBF gingival gel alone and as an adjunct to conventional therapy in patients with gingivitisMATERIALS AND METHOD: This randomized study design (parallel arm study design) consisted of 7 patients with 21 quadrants and having a score 2 (moderate gingivitis) & 3 (severe gingivitis) based upon the gingival score given by Loe & Silness (1964). All the subjects were evaluated by two parameters i.e. gingival index [Loe & Silness (1964)] and Papillary Bleeding Index [Muhleman (1977)] at baseline and after one month of rendering treatment. Following random allocation (flip of coin), the first Group was given conventional therapy [Scaling and Root Planing(SRP)] followed by NBF gingival gel application, while the 2nd Group was given NBF gel application alone and the 3rd Group was given conventional therapy (SRP) alone. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS version 19.0 using paired t‑test as well as the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test.RESULTS: After follow up, the highest percentage of mean scores of gingival index decreased among all the groups was seen in group 1 (38.15±5.46), followed by group 3(32.54±7.58) and group 2(18.91±7.62). Similarly, in the Papillary Bleeding Index, the highest percentage reduction was seen in group 1 (82.30±2.39), followed by group 3(53.54±6.02) and group 2(31.71±4.34). All observed values were significant with p≀05.CONCLUSION: NBF gel seems to provide to boost the immunity of the gingiva and periodontium, and when used as an adjunct to conventional therapy (SRP) can benefit the patient immensely
