Evliyâ Çelebi‟nin seyahatnâme'sinde görsel sanat eserlerinin tasviri: ekfrastik bir yaklaşım

basically means the verbalisation of a visual object, and it has become a literary tool
in time. Since the description of Achilles‘ shield in Homer‘s İlliad, ekphrasis has
been a frequently used literary practice which writers, historians, art critics apply.
Ekphrasis can be applied as the description of visual art objects through the fictional
forms such as poetry and novel as well as it occurs in the prose concerning history,
art criticism and travelogues; it is studied in order to analyse writer's handling with
the description of the object. Ekphrasis studies enable to capture the writer's
relationship between objectivity and subjectivity, the elements of his/her expressed
subjectivity, through literary tools. This study will examine Evliyâ Çelebi's
"ekphrastic" approach in describing mosques, churches and monasteries, paintings
and sculptures in Seyahatnâme (The Book of Travels), especially focusing on how
the subjective factors determining the writer‘s aesthetic appreciation occur in his
literary practice. What kind of a fictive language does ekphrasis, which is essentially
the act of making the silent image talk, show in Evliyâ Çelebi's representation? What
are the characters of the new images created by this language, which is independent
from the original objects, in other sense the images which Evliyâ created on his own
way? How does the reflection of personal taste and cultural positioning affect
aesthetic view of Evliyâ Çelebi‘s "ekphrastic" narrative? This questioning aims to
observe how the aesthetic view of Seyahatnâme's author takes shape and to be a
model of an approach to put forth the new literary qualities of Seyahatnâme's in the
light of ekphrasis study. The problem of "ekphrasis" enables Seyahatnâme which has
been already a study topic for various social sciences, to be evaluated in the
discipline of fiction more widely. As the issue concerns basically the relationship
between visuality and writing, it would bring a new interdisciplinary approach to

AIDS Related Stigma in Social Relations: A Qualitative Study in Turkey
The actual number of HIV/AIDS cases in Turkey is higher than the number of cases reported, and People Living with HIV (PLWHIV) may refrain from acknowledging their sickness or seeking help because of the stigma associated with HIV and fear of discrimination from their close friends, workmates, and even their families. In this paper we aim to explore HIV-positive people\u27s relationships with significant others such as family members, friends, sexual partners, employers and health professionals in order to present the patients\u27 perceptions about stigma and attitudes that lead to pro-social or anti-social behavior towards them. We carried out a qualitative study based on in-depth interviews with 16 PLWHIV in order to understand the conditions of people living with HIV/AIDS in Turkey. Our results revealed that except for family relations, the fear of contagion is the main obstacle for HIV-positive people\u27s relations with others. HIV-positive people are severely afflicted with discrimination due to the overlapping instrumental and symbolic stigmas that directly affect their relations. The attribute of responsibility is related to gender and socio-economic status of PLWHIV living in Turkey
Experiences of the Mothers to Cope with the Problem Behaviors of the Children with Special Needs during Coronavirus (COVID-19) Process
Babies are born into different families, cultures, environments; their first interaction environment is the family. This study investigates the opinions of the mothers who have children with special needs based on the experiences to cope with the children's problem behaviors in the Coronavirus pandemic process. This study was designed in the qualitative research method. Eleven mothers whose children continue to special education rehabilitation centers in a provincial center in the Southeastern Anatolia Region constitute the participant group of the study.The data obtained using the semi-structured interviews were analyzed with the content analysis method; the findings were described under eight main themes. While observing that the mothers were responsible for in-house communication during the staying home process, their feelings were loneliness, not usually receiving support from partners and relatives. Mothers stated that their children showed self-harm, aggressiveness, and nonrestraint; suggested that the special education institutions' managers and teachers' professional competiencies should be strengthened regarding distance education process; family-based effective intervention programs should be developed
Risperidone-Induced Renal Damage and Metabolic Side Effects: The Protective Effect of Resveratrol
Objective. The aim of the study was to investigate the possible protective qualities of resveratrol (RSV) against the side effects of risperidone (RIS) in an experimental model in rat kidneys with histologic and biochemical assessments. Materials and Methods. Experimental procedures were performed on 35 female Sprague Dawley rats. Rats were randomly divided into five groups: control, untreated rats (n=7) were in group 1; group 2 was given 2 mg/kg/day RIS (n=7); group 3 was treated with 2 mg/kg/day RIS and 20 mg/kg/day RSV (n=7); group 4 was treated with 2 mg/kg/day RIS and 40 mg/kg/day RSV (n=7); and group 5 was treated with 2 mg/kg/day RIS and 80 mg/kg/day RSV (n=7). All treatments were administered for two weeks by gavage. On treatment day 15, kidney tissues were removed for analysis. Results. The results showed that RSV treatment reduced weight gain induced by RIS. In addition, RSV increased the total antioxidant status (TAS) and decreased serum creatinine (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), oxidative stress index (OSI), and total oxidant status (TOS) levels significantly (p<0.05). Conclusion. This study revealed that treatment with RSV might protect kidney tissues against the side effects of RIS. RSV could be an effective course of therapy to enhance therapeutic efficacy

Mortality from gastrointestinal congenital anomalies at 264 hospitals in 74 low-income, middle-income, and high-income countries: a multicentre, international, prospective cohort study
Summary
Background Congenital anomalies are the fifth leading cause of mortality in children younger than 5 years globally.
Many gastrointestinal congenital anomalies are fatal without timely access to neonatal surgical care, but few studies
have been done on these conditions in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). We compared outcomes of
the seven most common gastrointestinal congenital anomalies in low-income, middle-income, and high-income
countries globally, and identified factors associated with mortality.
Methods We did a multicentre, international prospective cohort study of patients younger than 16 years, presenting to
hospital for the first time with oesophageal atresia, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, intestinal atresia, gastroschisis,
exomphalos, anorectal malformation, and Hirschsprung’s disease. Recruitment was of consecutive patients for a
minimum of 1 month between October, 2018, and April, 2019. We collected data on patient demographics, clinical
status, interventions, and outcomes using the REDCap platform. Patients were followed up for 30 days after primary
intervention, or 30 days after admission if they did not receive an intervention. The primary outcome was all-cause,
in-hospital mortality for all conditions combined and each condition individually, stratified by country income status.
We did a complete case analysis.
Findings We included 3849 patients with 3975 study conditions (560 with oesophageal atresia, 448 with congenital
diaphragmatic hernia, 681 with intestinal atresia, 453 with gastroschisis, 325 with exomphalos, 991 with anorectal
malformation, and 517 with Hirschsprung’s disease) from 264 hospitals (89 in high-income countries, 166 in middleincome
countries, and nine in low-income countries) in 74 countries. Of the 3849 patients, 2231 (58·0%) were male.
Median gestational age at birth was 38 weeks (IQR 36–39) and median bodyweight at presentation was 2·8 kg (2·3–3·3).
Mortality among all patients was 37 (39·8%) of 93 in low-income countries, 583 (20·4%) of 2860 in middle-income
countries, and 50 (5·6%) of 896 in high-income countries (p<0·0001 between all country income groups).
Gastroschisis had the greatest difference in mortality between country income strata (nine [90·0%] of ten in lowincome
countries, 97 [31·9%] of 304 in middle-income countries, and two [1·4%] of 139 in high-income countries;
p≤0·0001 between all country income groups). Factors significantly associated with higher mortality for all patients
combined included country income status (low-income vs high-income countries, risk ratio 2·78 [95% CI 1·88–4·11],
p<0·0001; middle-income vs high-income countries, 2·11 [1·59–2·79], p<0·0001), sepsis at presentation (1·20
[1·04–1·40], p=0·016), higher American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score at primary intervention
(ASA 4–5 vs ASA 1–2, 1·82 [1·40–2·35], p<0·0001; ASA 3 vs ASA 1–2, 1·58, [1·30–1·92], p<0·0001]), surgical safety
checklist not used (1·39 [1·02–1·90], p=0·035), and ventilation or parenteral nutrition unavailable when needed
(ventilation 1·96, [1·41–2·71], p=0·0001; parenteral nutrition 1·35, [1·05–1·74], p=0·018). Administration of
parenteral nutrition (0·61, [0·47–0·79], p=0·0002) and use of a peripherally inserted central catheter (0·65
[0·50–0·86], p=0·0024) or percutaneous central line (0·69 [0·48–1·00], p=0·049) were associated with lower mortality.
Interpretation Unacceptable differences in mortality exist for gastrointestinal congenital anomalies between lowincome,
middle-income, and high-income countries. Improving access to quality neonatal surgical care in LMICs will
be vital to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3.2 of ending preventable deaths in neonates and children younger
than 5 years by 2030

Transilvanya’dan İstanbul’a: Bir Global Gotik Örneği Olarak Ali Rıza Seyfi’nin Kazıklı Voyvoda’sı
Türk folkloru alanında yapılan son çalışmalar, vampir figürünün çeşitli arkaik Türkçe isimlerle İslam öncesinden Osmanlı İmparatorluğu dönemine, Anadolu topraklarından Orta Asya’ya kadar geniş bir coğrafyaya yayıldığını göstermektedir. Türk edebiyatındaki ilk yazılı vampir anlatısı, on yedinci yüzyıl Osmanlı seyyahı Evliyâ Çelebi’nin Seyahatnâme’sinin yedinci cildinde yer alır. Evliyâ Çelebi, bir grup Abaza “cadı”nın ve Çerkes “obur”unun Kafkasya semalarındaki savaşını birinci elden bir deneyim olarak aktarır. Bunun yanı sıra, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu döneminde çeşitli vampir avı vakalarına ilişkin fetvaların bildirildiği tarihî belgeler, gazete haberleri ve masârif defterleri olmasına rağmen, vampirler, Batılı vampir modeli olan Dracula dünya edebiyatında sahneye çıkana kadar Türk edebiyatında kendilerine bir yer bulamamışlardır. İrlandalı yazar Bram Stoker’ın Dracula’sı (1897) Türk romancı Ali Rıza Seyfi tarafından 1928’de Kazıklı Voyvoda adıyla serbest bir şekilde uyarlanmıştır ve Türk edebiyatının ilk vampir romanı sayılır. Stoker’ın vampir figürü ve genellikle vampirler dünya edebiyatında çoklu metaforlar olarak kullanıldığı gibi, Ali Rıza Seyfi’nin “Kont Drakola” figürü, Türk milletine yönelik olası bir tehdidin yol açtığı karmaşık ve kolektif bir korku metaforudur. Stoker’ın Transilvanyalı vampir hikâyesinin bu yeniden anlatımı, hem imparatorluk merkezi ile çevredeki Balkan uluslar arasındaki tarihî çatışmayı hem de, Kazıklı Voyvoda’nın Cumhuriyet’in çok erken döneminde yazıldığı göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, yeni cumhuriyet olgusunun ruhunun kalıcılığını korumayı sorun edinir.Bu makalede, Ali Rıza Seyfi’nin Batı dünyasının sömürge sonrası korkusu olarak çokça analiz edilen vampir Dracula figürünü nasıl yerelleştirdiğini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Ali Rıza Seyfi’nin milliyetçiliğin “ölmeyen” korkularını Batı’dan ödünç aldığı popüler vampir figürü ve edebî kalıplar aracılığıyla tersine bir ideolojiyle işleyişi gösterilmiştir

According to the conclusion of the poll, which has been carried out with all the employees in the corporation, which operates through the automotive sector, a significant correlation is found between the job satisfaction and organizational commitment.An increase of the inner satisfaction, outer satisfaction and general satisfaction, which are the sub-dimensions of the job satisfaction is detected, as the emotional commitment, continuance commitment and total organizational commitment,which are the sub-dimensions of the organizational commitment, increase.
