    Towards a common architecture to interconnect heterogeneous overlay networks

    ICPADS Workshop sessionInternational audienceThis paper presents a novel overlay architecture to allow the design and development of distributed applications based on multiple interconnected overlay networks. Message routing between overlays is achieved via co-located nodes, i.e. nodes that are part of multiple overlay networks at the same time. Co-located nodes, playing the role of distributed gateways, allow a message to reach a wider set of peers while overlay maintenance remains localized to individual overlays of smaller size. To increase robustness, gateway nodes route messages in an unstructured fashion, and can discover each other by analyzing the overlay traffic. The approach is able to work in both "collaborative" scenarios, where overlay protocol messages can be modified to include additional inter-routing information, or non-collaborative ones. This allows for the interaction with existing overlay protocols already deployed

    Relevance feedback is an eective approach to bridge the gap between low-level featureextraction and high-level semantic concept in content-based image retrieval (CBIR). In this paper,we further improve the use of users feedback with multi-feature query and the Choquet integral.Taking into account the interaction among feature sets, feedback information are used to adjust thefeature's relevance weights that are considered as the fuzzy density values in the Choquet integralto dene the overall similarity measure between two images. The feature weight adjustment andintegration aims at minimizing the dierence between users desire and outcome of the retrieval system.Experimental results on several benchmark datasets have shown the eectiveness of the proposedmethod in improving the quality of CBIR systems

    Backward-Compatible Cooperation of Heterogeneous P2P Systems

    International audiencePeer-to-peer (P2P) systems are used by millions of users everyday. In many scenarios, it is desirable for the users from different P2P systems to communicate and exchange content resources with each other. This requires co-operation between the P2P systems, which is often difficult or impossible, due to the two following reasons. First, we have the lack of a dedicated routing infrastructure throughout these systems, caused by the incompatibilities in overlay networks on top of which they are built. Second, there are incompatibilities in the application protocols of these systems. In this paper, we introduce a new model for backward-compatible co-operation between heterogeneous P2P systems. The routing across systems is enabled by introducing a super-overlay formed by a small subset of peers from every system, which run an overlay protocol called OGP (Overlay Gateway Protocol). The incompatibilities in the application protocols of P2P systems are solved by a co-operation application, running on top of OGP, bridging these systems at interface level. As a real application, we present a protocol named Inter-network File-sharing Protocol (IFP), running on top of OGP, aimed at co-operation of P2P file-sharing networks. The experimental results performed on the large-scale Grid5000 platform show our model to be efficient and scalable

    Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), seen as foundation for overall grid modernization, is an integration of many technologies providing an intelligent connection between consumers and system operators. One of the biggest challenges that AMI faces is to gather and process huge amounts of metering data. This requires a scalable communication architecture which provides adequate aggregation bandwidth while allowing to efficiently process metering data. In this paper, we introduce a novel communication architecture for AMI in which metering data is aggregated and processed in a tree-like topology. Through analysis we show that the architecture is scalable and resilient in presence of failure and partly self-organization. The experiments performed in large scale French Grid5000 platform also show the efficiency of communication of the proposed architecture

    An Extension and Cooperation Mechanism for Heterogeneous Overlay Networks

    Part 1: Future Heterogeneous NetworkInternational audienceIn real-world peer-to-peer applications, the scalability of data lookup is heavily affected by network artifacts. A common solution to improve scalability, robustness and security is to increase the local properties of nodes, by clustering them together. This paper presents a framework which allows for the development of distributed applications on top of interconnected overlay network. Here, message routing between overlays is accomplished by using co-located nodes, i.e. nodes belonging to more than one overlay network at the same time. These co-located nodes serve as distributed gateways, enabling the routing of requests across overlays, while keeping overlay maintenance operations local. The protocol has been evaluated via simulations and client deployment, showing that the ability, of reaching the totality of the overlays in a federated configuration can be preserved even with the simplest routing, proving the feasibility of federated overlay configurations

    Factors Affecting Intention to Purchase Voluntary Pension Insurance in Vietnam

    The research was carried out with the aim to identify factors affecting the intention to purchase voluntary pension insurance in Vietnam. With data collected from 334 subjects across the country, mainly in Hanoi, the results showed that attitude towards risk, subjective norms, percieved behavioral control, past experiences and corporate branding have positive influences on the central factor, which is intent. After quantitative analysis, the study proposes recommendations for businesses to improve their services as well as methods of distribution to meet the needs of potential customers to save in pension funds. Additionally, the study will provide the basis for regulators to come up with measures to promote the retirement insurance market and at the same time, raise public awareness about social security.     A Backward-Compatible Protocol for Inter-routing over Heterogeneous Overlay Networks

    Short paper + posterInternational audienceOverlay networks are logical networks running on the highest level of the OSI stack: they are applicative networks used by millions of users everyday. In many scenarios, it would be desirable for peers belonging to overlays running different protocols to communicate with each other and exchange certain information. However, due to differences in their respective protocols, this communication is often difficult or even impossible to be achieved efficiently, even if the overlays are sharing common objectives and functionalities. In this paper, we address this problem by presenting a new overlay protocol, called OGP (Overlay Gateway Protocol), allowing different existing networks to route messages between each other in a backward-compatible fashion, by making use of specialized peers joined together into a super-overlay. Experimental results on a large scale Grid5000 infrastructure show that having only a small number of nodes running the OGP protocol is sufficient for achieving efficient routing between heterogeneous overlay networks

    FIRST RECORD OF CANTHARELLUS MINOR IN VIETNAM

    This species of mushroom with orange fruiting bodies and yellow flesh grows in clumps on the forest land in the coordinates 11o56'34.45" N, 108o28'33.56" E in the pine (Pinus kesiya) forest, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. The results of analysis on the morphology, both macro- and micro-morphological characteristics of this mushroom showed that, pileus: 5-15 mm wide, infundibuliform; yellowish to orange; margin incurred, wavy-liked margin, non-striate; Pileus surface: smooth, scaleless, yellowish; Lamellae: distant, decurrent, not intervenose, concolorous to pileus; Context: concolourous to the pileus, slight sweetness, aromatic flavor; Stipe: cylindrical shape, surface smooth, concolourous to pileus, 1-2 mm diameter, 20-50 mm length; Basidiospores: 6-11.5 x 4-6.5 μm, ovoid-ellipsoid with smooth surface; Basidia: 65 x 10 μm, cornuted 4-6 spores per basidium. Phylogenetic analysis of nrLSU sequence yielded consistent topology in different taxa of Cantharellus. The phylogenetic position of XC02 was obtained and accepted at sub-generic level: subgenus Parvocantharellus. This clade was suggested to be monophyletic, and separated from other sub-generic levels. Morphologically phylogenetically distinct from the other species of clade 4, such as C. appalachiensis, C. tabernensis, C. aff. Congolensis. The highly supported monophyletic group with referent Cantharellus minor was obtained with the bootstrap value of 99, indicated that XC02 was significant closely to Cantharellus minor. Phylogenetic of nrLSU analysis revealed clades with statistical support corresponding to morphological observation, thus, XC2 was concluded as Cantharellus minor

    EFFECT OF POLYCAPROLACTONE ON CHARACTERISTICS AND MORPHOLOGY OF ALGINATE/CHITOSAN/LOVASTATINE COMPOSITE FILMS

    In this work, alginate (AG)/chitosan (CS)/lovastatine (LS) AG/CS/PCL/LS composite films using polycaprolactone (PCL)  are prepared by solution method with the ratio of AG/CS and LS content fixed at 4/1 and 10 wt.% (in comparison with the total weight of CS and AG), respectively.  The PCL content is used at 3, 5 and 10 wt.% (in compared with total weight of AG, CS and LS). The role of PCL as a compatibilizer in AG)/CS)/LS composites is considered by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Differential Scanning Calorimetric (DSC) methods. Based on the change in FTIR spectra, morphology and thermal parameters of AG/CS/PCL/LS composites, it can be seen that PCL has effectiveness of compatibility for AG, CS, and LS as well as plasticity for the composites. Besides, the influence of PCL content on the swelling degree of the composites is also investigated.
