Relaxor ferroelectricity induced by electron correlations in a molecular dimer Mott insulator
We have investigated the dielectric response in an antiferromagnetic
dimer-Mott insulator beta'-(BEDT-TTF)2ICl2 with square lattice, compared to a
spin liquid candidate kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu2(CN)3. Temperature dependence of the
dielectric constant shows a peak structure obeying Curie-Weiss law with strong
frequency dependence. We found an anisotropic ferroelectricity by pyrocurrent
measurements, which suggests the charge disproportionation in a dimer. The
ferroelectric actual charge freezing temperature is related to the
antiferromagnetic interaction, which is expected to the charge-spin coupled
degrees of freedom in the system.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, to be published in Phys. Rev.
Partial and macroscopic phase coherences in underdoped BiSrCaCuO thin film
A combined study with use of time-domain pump-probe spectroscopy and
time-domain terahertz transmission spectroscopy have been carried out on an
underdoped BiSrCaCuO thin film. It was observed that
the low energy multi-excitation states were decomposed into superconducting gap
and pseudogap. The pseudogap locally opens below K
simultaneously with the appearance of the high-frequency partial pairs around
1.3 THz. With decreasing temperature, the number of the local domains with the
partial phase coherence increased and saturated near 100 K, and the macroscopic
superconductivity appeared below 76 K through the superconductivity fluctuation
state below 100 K. These experimental results indicate that the pseudogap makes
an important role for realization of the superconductivity as a precursor to
switch from the partial to the macroscopic phase coherence.Comment: Revtex4, 4 pages, 4 figure
Classical no-cloning theorem under Liouville dynamics by non-Csisz\'ar f-divergence
The Csisz\'ar f-divergence, which is a class of information distances, is
known to offer a useful tool for analysing the classical counterpart of the
cloning operations that are quantum mechanically impossible for the factorized
and marginality classical probability distributions under Liouville dynamics.
We show that a class of information distances that does not belong to this
divergence class also allows for the formulation of a classical analogue of the
quantum no-cloning theorem. We address a family of nonlinear Liouville-like
equations, and generic distances, to obtain constraints on the corresponding
functional forms, associated with the formulation of classical analogue of the
no-cloning principle.Comment: 6 pages, revised, published versio
The thermodynamic limit for fractional exclusion statistics
I discuss Haldane's concept of generalised exclusion statistics (Phys. Rev.
Lett. {\bf 67}, 937, 1991) and I show that it leads to inconsistencies in the
calculation of the particle distribution that maximizes the partition function.
These inconsistencies appear when mutual exclusion statistics is manifested
between different subspecies of particles in the system. In order to eliminate
these inconsistencies, I introduce new mutual exclusion statistics parameters,
which are proportional to the dimension of the Hilbert sub-space on which they
act. These new definitions lead to properly defined particle distributions and
thermodynamic properties. In another paper (arXiv:0710.0728) I show that
fractional exclusion statistics manifested in general systems with interaction
have these, physically consistent, statistics parameters.Comment: 8 page
Magneto-optics induced by the spin chirality in itinerant ferromagnet NdMoO
It is demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally that the spin
chirality associated with a noncoplanar spin configuration produces a
magneto-optical effect. Numerical study of the two-band Hubbard model on a
triangle cluster shows that the optical Hall conductivity
is proportional to the spin chirality. The detailed comparative experiments on
pyrochlore-type molybdates MoO with Nd (Ising-like moments)
and Gd (Heisenberg-like ones) clearly distinguishes the two mechanisms,
i.e., spin chirality and spin-orbit interactions. It is concluded that for
=Nd, is dominated by the spin chirality for the dc
() and the incoherent intraband optical transitions between
Mo atoms.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures. submitted to Phys. Rev.
Onset of inflation in inhomogeneous cosmology
We study how the initial inhomogeneities of the universe affect the onset of
inflation in the closed universe. We consider the model of a chaotic inflation
which is driven by a massive scalar field. In order to construct an
inhomogeneous universe model, we use the long wavelength approximation ( the
gradient expansion method ). We show the condition of the inhomogeneities for
the universe to enter the inflationary phase.Comment: 22 pages including 12 eps figures, RevTe
The Black Di-Ring: An Inverse Scattering Construction
We use the inverse scattering method (ISM) to derive concentric
non-supersymmetric black rings. The approach used here is fully
five-dimensional, and has the modest advantage that it generalizes readily to
the construction of more general axi-symmetric solutions.Comment: v3: 2 subsections added, typos fixed, more refs, journal version. v4:
