Phase diagram and critical properties of the frustrated Kondo necklace model in a magnetic field

The critical properties of the frustrated Kondo necklace model with a half saturation magnetization (m=1/2m=1/2) have been studied by means of an exact-diagonalization method. It is shown from bosonization technique that the model can be effectively expressed as a quantum sine-Gordom model. Thus it may show three (dimer plateau, N{\'e}el plateau and Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid) phases due to competitions among the Ising anisotropy Δ\Delta, and the nearest- and next-nearest-neighbor exchange interactions J1J_1 and J2J_2. The boundary lines on the ΔJ2/J1\Delta-J_2/J_1 phase diagram separating the three phases are determined by the method of level spectroscopy based on the conformal field theory.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure

    Search for Λ6^6_\LambdaH hypernucleus by the 6^6Li(π,K+)(\pi^-,K^+) reaction at pπp_{\pi^-} = 1.2 GeV/cc

We have carried out an experiment to search for a neutron-rich hypernucleus, Λ6^6_{\Lambda}H, by the 6^6Li(π,K+\pi^-,K^+) reaction at pπp_{\pi^-} =1.2 GeV/cc. The obtained missing mass spectrum with an estimated energy resolution of 3.2 MeV (FWHM) showed no peak structure corresponding to the Λ6^6_{\Lambda}H hypernucleus neither below nor above the Λ4^4_{\Lambda}H+2n+2n particle decay threshold. An upper limit of the production cross section for the bound Λ6^6_{\Lambda}H hypernucleus was estimated to be 1.2 nb/sr at 90% confidence level.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, published versio

The Θ+\Theta^+ pentaquark baryon was searched for via the πpKX\pi^-p\to K^-X reaction in a missing-mass resolution of 1.4 MeV/c2c^2(FWHM) at J-PARC. π\pi^- meson beams were incident on the liquid hydrogen target with the beam momentum of 1.92 GeV/cc. No peak structure corresponding to the Θ+\Theta^+ mass was observed. The upper limit of the production cross section averaged over the scattering angle of 2^{\circ} to 15^{\circ} in the laboratory frame was obtained to be 0.26 μ\mub/sr in the mass region of 1.51-1.55 GeV/c2c^2.The upper limit of the Θ+\Theta^+ decay width using the effective Lagrangian approach was obtained to be 0.72 MeV/c2c^2 and 3.1 MeV/c2c^2 for JΘP=1/2+J^P_{\Theta}=1/2^+ and JΘP=1/2J^P_{\Theta}=1/2^-, respectively.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, 1 tabl

Evidence for Direct CP Violation in B0 -> K+- pi-+ Decays

We report evidence for direct CP violation in the decay B0 -> K+-pi-+ with 253/fb of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. Using 275 million B B_bar pairs we observe a B -> K+-pi-+ signal with 2140+-53 events. The measured CP violating asymmetry is Acp(K+-pi-+) = -0.101+-0.025 (stat)+-0.005 (syst), corresponding to a significance of 3.9 sigma including systematics. We also search for CP violation in the decays B+- -> K+-pi0 and B+- -> pi+-pi0. The measured CP violating asymmetries are Acp(K+-pi0) = 0.04+-0.05(stat)+-0.02(syst) and Acp(pi+-pi0) = -0.02+-0.10(stat)+-0.01(syst), corresponding to the intervals -0.05 < Acp(K+-pi0) < 0.13 and -0.18<Acp(pi+-pi0)<0.14 at 90% confidence level.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures. submitted to Physical Review Letter

We report the first observation of the B --> Dbar DsJ(2317) and B --> Dbar DsJ(2457) decays based on 123.8 10^6 BBar events collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. We observe the DsJ(2317) decay to Ds pi0 and DsJ(2457) decay to the Ds* pi0 and Ds gamma final states. We also set 90% CL upper limits for the decays DsJ(2317) --> Ds* gamma, DsJ(2457) --> Ds* gamma, DsJ(2457) --> Ds pi0 and DsJ(2457) --> Ds pi+ pi-.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures. Measurement of Time-Dependent CP-Violating Asymmetries in B0 --> phi Ks0, K+ K- Ks0, and eta' Ks0 Decays

We present an improved measurement of CP-violation parameters in B0 --> phi Ks0, K+ K- Ks0, and eta' Ks0 decays based on a 140 fb-1 data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. One neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in one of the specified decay channels, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. CP-violation parameters for each of the three modes are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays. We find that the observed CP asymmetry in the B0 --> phi Ks0 decay differs from the standard model (SM) expectation by 3.5 standard deviations, while the other cases are consistent with the SM.Comment: 10 pages, 4 postscript figures, submitted to Physical Review Letters, also contributed to the XXI International Symposium on Lepton and Photon Interactions at High Energies, Aug 11-16, 2003, Fermilab, Illinois US

Search for Charmless Two-body Baryonic Decays of B Mesons

    Get PDF
We report the results of a search for the rare baryonic decays B0ppˉB^0 \to p\bar{p}, ΛΛˉ\Lambda\bar{\Lambda}, and B+pΛˉB^+ \to p\bar{\Lambda}. The analysis is based on a data set of 31.7×106BBˉ31.7\times 10^6 B\bar{B} events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ee^+e^- collider. No statistically significant signals are found, and we set branching fraction upper limits B(B0ppˉ)<1.2×106{\mathcal B}(B^0 \to p\bar{p}) < 1.2 \times 10^{-6}, B(B0ΛΛˉ)<1.0×106{\mathcal B}(B^0 \to \Lambda\bar{\Lambda}) < 1.0 \times 10^{-6}, and B(B+pΛˉ)<2.2×106{\mathcal B}(B^+ \to p\bar{\Lambda}) < 2.2 \times 10^{-6} at the 90% confidence level.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures and 1 table. We report the first observation of chi_c2 production in B-meson decays. We find an inclusive B -> chi_c2 X branching fraction of (1.80^{+0.23}_{-0.28}+/- 0.26) 10^-3. The data set, collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+e^- collider, consists of 31.9 million B\bar B events. We also present branching fractions and momentum spectra for both chi_c1 and chi_c2 production.Comment: 5 pages with 2 figure

Study of B meson decays to three-body charmless hadronic final states

We report results of a study of charmless B meson decays to three-body KPiPi, KKPi and KKK final states. Measurements of branching fractions for B decays to K+0Pi+Pi-, K+K+K-, K0K+K-, KsKsK+ and KsKsKs final states are presented. The decays B0=>K0K+K-, B+=>KsKsK+ and B0=>KsKsKs are observed for the first time. We also report evidence for B+=>K+K-Pi+ decay. For the three-body final states K0K+K-, KsKsPi+, K+K+Pi- and K-Pi+Pi+ 90% confidence level upper limits are reported. Finally, we discuss the possibility of using the three-body B0=>KsK+K- decay for CP violation studies. The results are obtained with a 78 fb^-1 data sample collected at the Y(4S) resonance by the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures.
