Patients with hypertension need to do regular blood pressure checks at least once a month, and then try to reduce the intake of salt, fat and exercising regularly. To prevent and control hypertension needed family support. This study aims to describe social support for families in hypertensive patients in Puskesmas Kedungwuni I Pekalongan district in 2014. Design correlative descriptive study through a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique in this research is cluster sampling with 30 respondents. Data collection tool using a questionnaire with univariate analysis. The result showed more than half the level of social support for families in the category enough that 17 respondents (56.7%), in either category, namely 10 respondents (33.3%), and in the category of less that 3 respondents (10%). We need a social support system or family who facilitate, motivate and support a healthy lifestyle and activities that are promotive and preventive well

    This study aims to determine the perception of farmers on the role of agricultural extension. Extension roles/duties include education, dissemination of information/innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation, where the sixth in this study into research variables. Likert scale is used to measure the perception of rubber farmers to the overall role of agricultural extension workers. From the results of the research note that the perception of farmers for the role of extension workers in the value is in the category “enough to play'' with the overall average of 3.11. The perception of farmers on the role of agricultural extension in Lada Mandala Jaya Village, Pangkalan Lada Sub-district can be categorized as (a). “role” (mean = 3,69) for sub-variable of Education, (b). “role” (mean = 3,41) for the sub-variable Dissemination, (c). “lacks role'' (average = 2.24) as the Facilitator, (d). “enough role” (average = 3.15) as consultant, (e). “enough role” (average = 2.60) as Supervisor, and (f). “enough role” (average = 2.61) in the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation. It is advisable to extension workers to optimize the role of extension workers, especially in facilitating and supervising the farmers in the development of rubber plantation business

    . Diabetes mellitus is a systemic disease, chronic and multifactorial characterized by hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia. The prevalence rate of diabetes mellitus in the world has reached the number of outbreaks or epidemics. WHO estimates that in developing countries in 2025 will appear 80% of new cases. Diabetics are encouraged not to smoke, because smoking can slow down blood flow in the skin and cause slow in absorbing the insulin into the blood, and make the effectiveness of insulin in the blood itself is reduced. The study aims to determine the incidence of diabetic ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus who smoke in Puskesmas Kedungwuni II Pekalongan. Design This study uses descriptive study with cross-sectional data collection is done at one point in time. The sampling technique in this study using purposive sampling with 40 respondents. Measuring instruments used in this study using a questionnaire as data collection instruments. Diabetes Mellitus Patients analysis results in the category of smoke were 27 patients (67.5%) and patients were not smoking at 13 patients (32.5%). The incidence of Diabetic Ulcers in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus who smoke who have diabetic ulcers by 27 patients (100%). Diabetic Ulcers reduction and prevention should be increased to provide counseling to patients and families about the disease diabetes mellitus, general management, medication, meal planning, healthy lifestyle patterns including quitting smoking

    High nickel deposition at low voltage electroplating process by a combination of anions

    This research has been performed to understand the impact of the combination of nickel anions of sulfate (SO4 2- ), and chloride (Cl- ) in the solution towards nickel deposition. The evaluation was performed for the voltage, weight, and efficiency. The electroplating of nickel was performed by chemical cleaning of the specimen surface, nickel deposition in the nickel solution under specific current density, and post-cleaning to remove the residual solution. The nickel solution was consist of sulfate, and chloride anions compared with nickel sulfate solution only. The result showed that the presence of chloride anions in a sulfate solution lowered the voltage, increased the weight of nickel deposition, and increased efficiency compared with the impact on sulfate solution only. The voltage of a solution consisting of chloride and sulfate decreased by more than 30%, compared with sulfate solution only. The weight of nickel deposited on the specimen surface increased clearly. As the number of chloride anions increased, the nickel deposition increased linearly. Interestingly, the highest nickel weight was achieved at a low chloride anion concentration. The heaviest nickel deposited is 0.7 g was achieved under 0.07 A/cm2 and 15 g/l chloride anions. The nickel deposition efficiency in the combination of sulfate and chloride anions is always higher than 80% compared with nickel sulfate solution only

    Slow pyrolysis of Ulva lactuca (Chlorophyta) for sustainable production of bio-oil and biochar

    Ulva Lactuca is a fast-growing algae that can be utilized as a bioenergy source. However, the direct utilization of U. lactuca for energy applications still remains challenging due to its high moisture and inorganics content. Therefore, thermochemical processing such as slow pyrolysis to produce valuable added products, namely bio-oil and biochar, is needed. This study aims to conduct a thorough investigation of bio-oil and biochar production from U. lactuca to provide valuable data for its further valorization. A slow pyrolysis of U. lactuca was conducted in a batch-type reactor at a temperature range of 400–600 °C and times of 10–50 min. The results showed that significant compounds obtained in U. lactuca’s bio-oil are carboxylic acids (22.63–35.28%), phenolics (9.73–31.89%), amines/amides (15.33–23.31%), and N-aromatic compounds (14.04–15.68%). The ultimate analysis revealed that biochar’s H/C and O/C atomic ratios were lower than feedstock, confirming that dehydration and decarboxylation reactions occurred throughout the pyrolysis. Additionally, biochar exhibited calorific values in the range of 19.94–21.61 MJ kg−1, which is potential to be used as a solid renewable fuel. The surface morphological analysis by scanning electron microscope (SEM) showed a larger surface area in U. lactuca’s biochar than in the algal feedstock. Overall, this finding provides insight on the valorization of U. lactuca for value-added chemicals, i.e., biofuels and biochar, which can be further utilized for other applications

    Industrial employee recently faced outsourcing system, a process transfering bisnis activity to the third parties. This system will give an impact to job satisfaction of the employee if they feel unfairly treated such as no fringe benefit and discriminated salary. This comparative research design compared between 45 permanent employee and 75 outsourcing employee at PT. PLN (PERSERO) UPJ Baleendah. Instrument used is job satisfaction scales from Herzberg. Statistical analysis used U Mann Whitney to test hypothesis proposed. Result using 95% trusted degree (α = 0,05) found p > α. It is concluded that Ho is accepted and H1 is not. Therefore, there is no significant differences between  outsourcing employee and permanent employee at di PT. PLN (PERSERO)

    Pertambahan Bobot Badan Dan Feed Conversion Rate Ayam Broiler Yang Dipelihara Menggunakan Desinfektan Herbal

    Senyawa aktif dalam daun babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides) diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibakterial khususnya untuk menghambat perkembangan bakteri patogen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan desinfektan herbal berbahan dasar ekstrak daun babadotan (Ageratium conyzoides) terhadap produktivitas ayam broiler yang diketahui berdasarkan pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH) dan FCR (Feed Convertion Rate). Penelitian ini menggunakan desinfektan herbal daun babadotan konsentrasi 1% dan 1,5%, serta desinfektan sintetis komersian 1,5% sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBBH ayam broiler yang dipelihara dengan menggunakan desinfektan herbal dan sintetis tidak berbeda (P>0,05). Nilai PBBH desinfektan herbal 1% dan 1,5% adalah 35,11 dan 33,69 g/ekor/hari, sedangkan desinfektan sintetis 32,75 g/ekor/hari. Nilai FCR ayam pada pemeliharaan menggunakan desinfektan herbal juga menunjukkan hasil yang sama (P>0,05) dengan desinfektan sintetis. Nilai FCR desinfektan herbal 1% dan 1,5% adalah 1,6 dan 1,67. Sedangkan FCR desinfektan sintetis sebesar 1,63. Berdasarkan data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa desinfektan herbal ekstrak daun babadotan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam kegiatan biosecurity di peternakan ayam broiler

    The Development of Modular and Re-Usable Face Shields for COVID- 19 Prevention in Clinics

    COVID-19 continues to cause a high fatality rate - especially in health workers. Safety protocols in nearly all aspects of our lives were announced to minimize the spread of the disease. A common personal protection equipment (PPE) that is used as a safety precaution is the face shield, a portable barrier to protect human to human transmission. Unfortunately, this simple, mass-produced device has not been made in a standardized way. This study aimed to create a standard modular and ergonomic face shield that can be dispatched, recleaning, sterilized, and partially renewed. Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polylactide (PLA) filaments were selected as the materials to be used. PETs with 0.3 mm thickness were used for the visor. The headband was designed in AutoCAD 2019 then produced by a Flashforge 3D printer. Nurses’ anthropometric measurement was used as guidance in formulating the size of the head band. 60 head bands were produced in 2 months of 5 working days (80 minutes for each headband). This device was given to non-government clinics that have short PPE supplies and was evaluated according to their reliability and comfort. We concluded that this new PPE had minimum visual distortion, was easy to dismount, and easy to replace, except for the headband. Keywords: covid-19, face shield, preventio
