    A SCALABLE SEARCH ENGINE AGGREGATOR

    Get PDF
The ability to display different media sources in an appropriate way is an integral part of search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing, as well as social networking sites like Facebook, etc. This project explores and implements various media-updating features of the open source search engine Yioop [1]. These include news aggregation, video conversion and email distribution. An older, preexisting news update feature of Yioop was modified and scaled so that it can work on many machines. We redesigned and modified the user interface associated with a distributed news updater feature in Yioop. This project also introduced a video updater feature for Yioop. This feature converts uploaded video into formats that are compatible with all browsers. It can quickly convert lengthy videos by splitting and converting them in a parallel fashion. It then merges them back into a single video. In this report, we discuss a solution to off- load the task of sending emails from the Yioop web application to the Yioop media updater by aggregating emails over a period of time. We conclude this report by describing experiments with these developed features on a cluster setup on an AWS platform

Successful detection of an incidental sigmoid injury during laparoscopic surgery by air saline test in a patient of endometrial carcinoma

Laparoscopy has many advantages over open surgery including less post-operative pain, earlier return of normal bowel function, shorter hospital stay, and earlier recovery. Bowel injury is a serious complication of gynecological laparoscopy. The most common site of bowel injury is the small bowel, followed by the large bowel and stomach. This is in agreement with a recent systematic review which has shown that the incidence of bowel injury in gynecologic laparoscopy is 1 in 769.3. Air saline test performed to check bowel integrity by inserting the rectal probe and filling the cavity with normal saline. After performing total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salphingoopherectomy with retroperitoneal lymphnode dissection done initially after pushing air from rectal probe into the bowel, no bubble was noted but after pushing sigmoid into the pool of saline, escape of air was seen. After suction, a 2Ă—2 cm incidental sigmoidal injury was detected. Bowel injury is a serious complication in laparoscopic surgeries and routine intraoperative checking of bowel integrity by air saline test with the help of rectal probe is a useful modality of intraoperative bowel repair

Single Mothers: Strategies of Family Management and Support Systems in Relation to Health

    Get PDF
The status of women in contemporary society is a vital aspect of debates concerning gender inequality, women’s subordination, violence against women, and women’s empowerment. The responses of women to these problems vary across different social and spatial categories. One of the significant responses is the change in the family structure that leads to the emergence of single-parent families, particularly single-mother families. Few studies in the Indian context deal with the causes of rising numbers of single-mother families. Furthermore, there are no significant studies concerning the issues single mothers face. Being single and a mother is a significant challenge for a woman in Indian society. A divorced single mother faces various constraints and challenges while leading a household after the marital disruption. Single mothers face many physical and psychological problems, including taking care of herself and children in matters of health and well-being. The present study investigates the constraints of divorced single mothers concerning their social support systems and family management strategies as they influence mental and physical health. The study is an outcome of twenty-five case studies of divorced single mothers residing in Hyderabad, India. The results are drawn using interpretive phenomenological analysis

Background: This study was performed to prospectively investigate the diagnostic reliability of the daily use of ACR-TIRADS classification system, in differentiating between a benign and a malignant lesion. Methods: In this prospective observational study, 50 patients with thyroid nodules underwent ultrasound examination and fine needle aspiration. The ultrasound studies were evaluated according to the ACR-TIRADS greyscale characteristics of composition, echogenicity, margins, shape, and echogenic foci. Each feature in a particular USG characteristic was scored and ACR-TIRADS categorization done from 1 to 5. This was compared to FNAC/histopathology findings and risk of malignancy was calculated for each feature and ACR-TIRADS category. Results: Of the 50 nodules included in the study, 38 were found to be benign and 12 were found to be malignant. Risk of malignancy for all ultrasound features showed an increasing trend with higher scored feature. Risk of malignancy for various features were as follows: Composition-cystic (0%), spongiform (0%), solid-cystic (0%) and solid (36%); echogenicity-anechoic(0%), hyperechoic (4%), isoechoic (11%), hypoechoic (47%) and markedly hypoechoic (100%); shape-wider-than-tall (21%) and taller-than-wide (66%); margins-smooth (18%), illdefined (0%), lobulated/irregular (38%) and extrathyroid extension (100%); echogenic foci-none (13%), large comet-tail artefacts (0%), macrocalcification (42%), rim calcification (50%) and punctate echogenic foci (50%). Amongst ACR-TIRADS(TR) categories TR1, TR2 and TR3 had 0% risk while TR4 had 30% and TR5 had 56% risk of malignancy with p value of 0.001.Conclusions: ACR-TIRADS is a high specific, accurate classification system for categorizing the thyroid nodules based on ultrasound features, for assessing the risk of malignancy

Malware is one of the most terrible and major security threats facing the Internet today. It has been surveyed that around 71% of attacks are done using Trojan horses and DOS attacks. So, Trojan horses and DOS attacks are the main focus of the system. Trojan horse are the most dangerous malwares, it never shows their presence on the pc or laptop it works at the back end and provides all the credentials and sensitive information to the attacker, it also opens door for other malwares like, viruses, worms, spyware, adware etc. Report informs about currently working software in market and comparison between new system developed and current systems and describes how newly developed system is better than current systems. This report gives best option for real time network security analyzing

Applicability and Realization of Security in Leach Protocol in WSNs

    Get PDF
WSN is a collaborative network of a large number of loosely connected nodes. The intense deployment of such networks over varied topographic regions ranging from a few meters to several hundreds of kilometres is feasible by setting up small, low cost devices which are capable of monitoring the physical world around them by collecting status information and then converting this into radio signals. These signals are then transmitted to a local sink. Keywords: WSNs, Leach, Noad etc
