Development and construct validation of a Spanish version of an Academic Self-Concept scale for middle school Hispanic students from families of low socioeconomic levels
For a sample of 305 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, of whom 95% was from economically disadvantaged Hispanic families and for whom English was their second language, evidence was sought regarding the reliability and construct validity of scores on a Spanish version of an academic self-concept measure entitled Dimensions of Self-Concept (DOSC), comprising five subscales bearing the same names as those of the five hypothesized constructs that they were intended to operationalize: Level of Aspiration, Anxiety, Academic Interest and Satisfaction, Leadership and Initiative, and Identification versus Alienation. Reliability estimates varying between .72 and .80 were judged to be reasonably satisfactory. Results from oblique factor analysis lent empirical support for the hypothesized constructs of Anxiety, Leadership and Initiative, and Identification versus Alienation. Scores associated with the subscales of Level of Aspiration and Academic Interest and Satisfaction generated a factor interpreted as a fusion of the two constructs of Level of Aspiration and Academic Interest and Satisfaction
The development and construct validation of a Spanish version of an academic self-concept scale for middle school hispanic students from families of low socioeconomic levels
Microcontroller based car usage authentication and activity monitoring with the use of driver\u27s license and finger print matching
Innovations on cars never stop. Continuously, innovators are being more and more creative with their ideas in improving certain systems in automobiles. Monitoring a car\u27s activities may seem not that important for most people but when it comes to the industry where a lot of cars are being used, monitoring them would prove quite a challenge these goes to car rental businesses, taxi companies and etc.
The Philippine driver\u27s license that people use today looks simple and most people do not know that their license may be scanned or read electronically. But in contrast to its appearance, it has advanced technology regarding data gathering through its innovative barcode symbology. These technology embedded in the Philippine driver\u27s license have limitless potential. By just simply reading the barcode, valuable data can be gathered instantly from the card holder\u27s name down to its expiry date.
The data gathered can be used in many different ways. Together with the monitoring issue the group found a way to make these things helpful to people in such a way of unlocking further potentials for automobile add ons
