Nowadays, the principal theories that deal with the emotions is doing their researches into two main factors: the physiological and the cognitive. Surprisingly, despite the temporal distance and technological differences regarding the Middle Ages, there is an incredible coincidence in their approach. These two aspects−with different nomenclature, pathos and soma− are the common approach undertaken by philosophers both Christians and Muslims and also Jews. Through an Spanish-Jewish funerary inscription written in the Thirteenth Century we will try to shed light on some emotions arising from the particular phenomenon of death: specifically, parental pain and insanity caused by the loss of his beloved son
Preventing Procrastination Behaviours: Teaching Styles and Competence in University Students
Based on the self-determination theory, this study examines the relationship between students' perceptions of their teachers' teaching styles, satisfaction of the need for competence, and procrastination behaviours in university students. The sample was composed of 675 university students (442 men, 279 women; 4 did not indicate gender, Mage = 19.81 ± 2.26 years old), who completed the questionnaires assessing the variables of interest. The perception of an autonomy-supportive teaching style was positively associated with the satisfaction of the need for competence, in contrast to the perception of a controlling style. Satisfaction of the need for competence was also negatively related to procrastination behaviours. Likewise, the perception of a controlling teaching style was indirectly and positively associated through competence need satisfaction with procrastination; in addition, the perception of an autonomy supportive teaching style was negatively associated with procrastination. The model tested defends the importance of perceiving a high autonomy-supportive teaching style and a low controlling teaching style to avoid procrastination behaviours, with these relationships being mediated by the satisfaction of the student's need for competence

In the present TFG is the reform of a commercial premises to store clothes and showroom in a Coruña.
The creation of this store mission is to satisfy needs of persons with sumidoras of new trends in brands and high-quality apparel and accessories.
As a starting point in any business aimed at selling clothes we must be very clear how we want, or rather, how we want our customers to interact with our space and our pro-ducts. the reason? most of feelings generated by our customer will have as a source here.
There is an extremely important aspect in the interior design of a space devoted to fashion, that is, without a doubt, the same lighting.
As justification of all carried out in this work include a plan of nebusiness as convinced of the feasibility of the creation of this reform to undertake this new business, which will increase supply at fashion in the city and opportunities for new professionals in this field.
The work consists of three volumes:
VOLUME I: Memory, which includes a brief introduction, descriptive and constructive memory. compliance with the CTE and other regulations is justified. Finally I include in annexes all the calculations and specifications necessary facilities, structure, control plan, waste management and the basic study of safety and health.
VOLUME II: Complementary to the previous volume, included the statement of conditions, measurements and budget, a brief business plan, all documentary sources consulted during the creation of the same and, finally, thanks to all those who have supported me.
VOLUME III: Attaches all the graphic documentation in accordance with the documentation included in the two previous volumes.Traballo fin de grao (UDC.EUAT). Arquitectura técnica. Curso 2013/201
Extending AuToBI to prominence detection in European Portuguese
This paper describes our exploratory work in applying the Automatic ToBI annotation system (AuToBI), originally developed for Standard American English, to European Portuguese. This work is motivated by the current availability of large amounts of (highly spontaneous) transcribed data and the need to further enrich those transcripts with prosodic information. Manual prosodic annotation, however, is almost impractical for extensive data sets. For that reason, automatic systems such as AuToBi stand as an alternate solution. We have started by applying the AuToBI prosodic event detection system using the existing English models to the prediction of prominent prosodic events (accents) in European Portuguese. This approach achieved an overall accuracy of 74% for prominence detection, similar to state-of-the-art results for other languages. Later, we have trained new models using prepared and spontaneous Portuguese data, achieving a considerable improvement of about 6% accuracy (absolute) over the existing English models. The achieved results are quite encouraging and provide a starting point for automatically predicting prominent events in European Portuguese.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Cross-domain analysis of discourse markers in European Portuguese
This paper presents an analysis of discourse markers in two spontaneous speech corpora for European Portuguese - university lectures and map-task dialogues - and also in a collection of tweets, aiming at contributing to their categorization, scarcely existent for European Portuguese. Our results show that the selection of discourse markers is domain and speaker dependent. We also found that the most frequent discourse markers are similar in all three corpora, despite tweets containing discourse markers not found in the other two corpora. In this multidisciplinary study, comprising both a linguistic perspective and a computational approach, discourse markers are also automatically discriminated from other structural metadata events, namely sentence-like units and disfluencies. Our results show that discourse markers and disfluencies tend to co-occur in the dialogue corpus, but have a complementary distribution in the university lectures. We used three acoustic-prosodic feature sets and machine learning to automatically distinguish between discourse markers, disfluencies and sentence-like units. Our in-domain experiments achieved an accuracy of about 87% in university lectures and 84% in dialogues, in line with our previous results. The eGeMAPS features, commonly used for other paralinguistic tasks, achieved a considerable performance on our data, especially considering the small size of the feature set. Our results suggest that turn-initial discourse markers are usually easier to classify than disfluencies, a result also previously reported in the literature. We conducted a cross-domain evaluation in order to evaluate the robustness of the models across domains. The results achieved are about 11%-12% lower, but we conclude that data from one domain can still be used to classify the same events in the other. Overall, despite the complexity of this task, these are very encouraging state-of-the-art results. Ultimately, using exclusively acoustic-prosodic cues, discourse markers can be fairly discriminated from disfluencies and SUs. In order to better understand the contribution of each feature, we have also reported the impact of the features in both the dialogues and the university lectures. Pitch features are the most relevant ones for the distinction between discourse markers and disfluencies, namely pitch slopes. These features are in line with the wide pitch range of discourse markers, in a continuum from a very compressed pitch range to a very wide one, expressed by total deaccented material or H+L* L* contours, with upstep H tones
