The purpose of this study was to examine the results of the promotion of sports in Tokusima Prefecture. The number of persons who had insurance for sport accidents, the percentage of persons who played sports, the scores of Japan Sports Festival, the number of sports instructor with license, the number of public sports facilities, and the total budget for sports Promotion were investigated. The results were summarized as follows : 1) On the whole the results of the Promotion of sports in Tokusima Prefecture were on low level. 2) Swimming pools were in short supply. 3)The number of sports instructor with license was small. 4) The total budget for sports promotion was small. 5)The percentage of persons who had insurance for sport accidents was on high level.国立情報学研究所『研究紀要公開支援事業』により電子化

The purpose of this study was to investigate determinants of competition results of high school baseball clubs. The subjects were 191 managers of high school baseball clubs in Japan whole country. The investigations were performed from October to December in 2010. Competition results were made score by results of prefectural preliminary stage of national meet in summer during 2010 after 2006. The subjects were classified under three groups that were high grades, average grades, and low grades. 37 items of investigation that were assumed determinants were selected on grounds of previous researches. Those were composed of 29 items on managerial resources of humans, facilities and funds, 6 items on the situation of practice, and 2 items on the system of admitting students into high schools and universities designated. The data were analyzed by chi−square test, multiple comparisons, simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis, The results of chi−square test and multiple comparisons showed that determinants of competition results were picked out as follows. 1）The total number of club members. 2）The number of members who gained admission into the high school in the school district other than his own. 3）The number of members who were admitted to the high school on the recommendations. 4）The baseball ground reserved only for the clubs. 5）The training field in case of rain. 6）The bus reserved only for the clubs. 7）The number of batting cage. 8）The number of pitching machine. 9）The amount of operating expenses for the year. Multiple regression analysis with quantitative data showed that the total number of club members was first determinants, the number of pitching machine was the second, and the amount of operating expenses for the year was the third. It was estimated by simple regression analysis that 82 club members, 5 pitching machines and operating expenses of 6,260 thousands-yen a year were necessary conditions for getting high grade competition results

The rising health-care expenditure is a serious problem in Japan. A number of papers have suggested that corporations gain significant benefits that are improvement of personal health, an improvement of productivity, a reduction of absenteeism, a lessening of health-care expenditures, and an enhancement of corporate image from the introduction of employee fitness programs. However，there have been relatively few experimental studies to date in Japan. It is guessed that the present situation is causcd by the lack of understanding for worksite health promotion. The purpose of this study are to inquire into worksite health promotion programs in Tokushima and to examine the direction of its programs. A survey was conducted in August 1995，and the questionnaires were mailed to a total of 449 corporations. 209 effective samples were returned，giving a response rate of 46 .5 percent. The major findings are summarized as follows: (1) The worksite health promotion programs were not various. (2) Thc operating organizations of worksite helth promotion lacked the qualified staffs and specialists in the field of health promotion. (3) The health insurance expenditures are increasing in the corporations. These results indicated that worksite health promotion has to recognize as a business strategy instead of the welfare for employee
