    This study aims to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of school children snacks before and after counseling related to the empowerment of cadres in schools at Muhammadiyah Lubuk Pakam Elementary School. This research method is a correlative study using a cross-sectional design. The results of the static test show that the value of p = 0.00 <0.05 means that there are significant differences between the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of Muhammadiyah students' snacks in choosing healthy meals and snacks that contain hazardous ingredients after empowerment by young cadres, In conclusion, the counseling method is very influential in significantly increasing the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of school children at SD Muhammadiyah Lubuk Pakam.   Keywords: Snack for School Children, Young Cadres, Knowledge, Behavior, Attitud

    The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the training in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of elementary school students as a cadre of school hawker supervisors in Lubuk Pakam. The method in this study uses the action research method, using the student facilitator and explaining the training model. The results of the empowerment research with the student facilitator and teaching training model can improve the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of the young cadres, there are significant differences in the values of knowledge, attitudes and activities based on cycle I namely (p = 0.001, p = 0.001, and p = 0.001), and in the second cycle (p = 0.001, p = 0.001, and p = 0.001). In conclusion, the training carried out on Muhammadiyah elementary school students is useful as a cadre of child food supervisors of school snacks.   Keywords: Snacks for School Children, Young Cadres, Knowledge, Behavior, Attitude

    Stunting di Indonesia: Tantangan dan Solusi di Era Modern

    This research aims to investigate the problem of stunting in Indonesia and analyze the relevant challenges and solutions in dealing with this problem in the new era. Stunting, which is defined as stunted growth in children under the age of five, has become a serious problem in Indonesia with long-term adverse effects on children's health and development. The method used is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the stunting rate in Indonesia is still high, even though there has been a decline in recent years. The challenges faced in efforts to reduce stunting include long-term malnutrition, ineffective parenting styles, inadequate knowledge about balanced nutritional diets, lack of postpartum care, persistent infectious diseases in children, and poor sanitation. In facing this challenge, comprehensive and integrated solutions are needed, including specific and sensitive interventions, cross-sectoral approaches, empowering women, and making policies and programs that support stunting prevention. In conclusion, stunting in Indonesia remains a complex problem that requires coordinated cross-sector collaboration. In addressing this challenge in the modern era, a holistic and sustainable intervention strategy is needed to reduce the prevalence of stunting and ensure optimal growth and development of children in Indonesia.   Keywords: Toddlers, Nutrition, Prevalence, Solutions, Stunting, Challenge

    This study aimed to determine the effect of maternal empowerment on improving fish consumption patterns to increase protein intake, calcium, zinc, and Z-score height by age when stunting children. The type of this research is Quasi-Experimental with pre and post-test control group design. The results showed an increase in maternal knowledge, increased intake of protein, calcium, and zinc as well as an increase in TB scores / After the intervention in the case group, compared to the control group, there were no differences in protein, calcium intake and Z-score TB / U, an increase in maternal empowerment increased intake of children stunting and the same as intake of children not stunting. Conclusion There is a significant difference in the average value of protein intake, calcium, zinc, and Z-score before and after providing maternal empowerment interventions to improve fish consumption patterns in children aged 13-36 months.   Keywords: Intake, Calcium, Maternal Empowerment, Protein, Zinc, Stunting, Z-Score TB /

    This study aims to determine the effect of giving shredded eel on the intake of protein, Fe and hemoglobin levels of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with one group pre and post-test design. The research sample was taken using a total sampling technique. The results showed that the average intake of protein, Fe and Hb levels after administration of shredded eel obtained a p-value of 0.000 and the significance value of each intake level was 0.000, 0.000, 0.001. In conclusion, there is a significant effect between the provision of shredded eel on the intake of protein, Fe and hemoglobin levels in patients with pulmonary TB.     Pengetahuan dan Sikap Anak tentang Makanan Jajanan Sehat melalui Permainan Ular Tangga

    This study aimed to determine the knowledge and attitudes of healthy snack children through snake and ladder games in Lubuk Pakam sub-district. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design of two groups of the pretest-posttest system. The results showed that by using the statistical test, the value of p = 0.000 <0.05. Based on the pretest and post-test results on 54 students, the average change in knowledge before the intervention was 12.8, and the closest intervention was 15.5. The shift in attitude before the intervention was 10.2, and after the intervention was 12.8. In conclusion, there is the influence of snake and ladder game counseling on healthy snack foods on elementary school children's knowledge and attitudes.   Keywords: Healthy Snacks, Knowledge, Attitudes, Snakes, and ladder

    Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak yang di hasilkan aikbat mengkonsumsi junkfood secara berlebihan pada anak-anak dan remaja. Sebagaimana dketahui junkfood yang miskin akan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan tubuh dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada kesehatan seperti keracunan makanan, infeksi, penyakit diabetes, darah tinggi dan obesitas. Mengkonsumsi junkfood  yang tinggi kadar lemak dan gula seperti burger, fried chicken, french fries, hot dog, popcorn, pizza, biscuit, muffin, minuman berkarbonasi dan lain sebagainya  sudah menjadi bagian gaya hidup pada anak anak dan remaja terutamanya yang berada di kota besar. Mereka lebih sering mengkonsumsi makanan tersebut dibandingkan memakan sayur atau buah yang jelas lebih kaya gizi. Menurut Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia konsumsi junkfood secara berlebihan telah memberi kontribusi yang signifikan pada tingginya angka obesitas di seluruh dunia. Bimbingan mengenai pentingnya diet seimbang dan efek berbahaya dari junk food akan membantu  para anak-anak dan remaja mengurangi kecanduan mereka akan junkfood dan membantu mereka untuk memperbaiki status gizinya.

    Training of Lemuru Fish Nuggets Processing for Stunting Children’s Mothers In Pantai Labu Sub-District Deli Serdang Regency

    Failure of stunting in children will produce human resources that cannot compete in the era of globalization, affect work productivity, increase the risk of obesity, and lead to metabolic syndrome. Indonesia has a high incidence of stunting among children under five and school children, including North Sumatra with a prevalence of 42.3%, ranked fourth in the province with a high stunting prevalence. The prevalence of stunting in children aged 5-12 years increases every year. During the growth of very high bone mineralization, low intake of protein, calcium, and zinc influences linear growth. Aged 5-12 years is an opportunity to catch up and improve height. In terms of overcoming the lack of protein, calcium, and zinc intake as well as spurring the growth of schoolchildren, it can be done by giving Lemuru fish nuggets. Fish nugget processing is a simple processing method and has a long shelf life, with storage life in the freezer was 2 weeks. From the results of conseling and training conducted an initial and final knowledge assessment, it is known that initial knowledge is still lacking with an average value of 64.69 after the activity has increased to 83.95. Participants better understand the benefits of local food such as lemuru fish to cope with the stunting situation experienced by their child

    Training on Making Nugget from Lemuru Fish with the Addition of Durian Seed Flour for Stunting Students Mother

    Fish has been widely known for its usage in increasing the growth of children, due to its nutritional contents, such as protein and zinc that can accelerate the increase of children’s heights and weights in the growth period. This community service activity aims to increase fish consumption in elementary school students, especially those suffering from stunting through processing fish into nugget products. The activity carried out was in the form of training on processing fish nuggets using lemuru fish with the addition of durian seed flour to mothers with stunting children at SDN 104255 Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency. This activity then was continued by offering the students to consume nuggets of lemuru fish durian seeds flour. As a result, the nuggets were considered favorable by the students. The post test involving questions about stunting was conducted to measure the knowledge of each parent in this case. The data showed that parents had high enthusiasm in solving stunting issues due to the increase on average of post test points (8.03), which was two times higher than before (4.81). The outcome of this training was to gain new skills and knowledge to students’ mothers in decreasing stunting cases by serving affordable nutrient-rich food to their children

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak menkonsumsi makanan organik dalam meningkatkan gizi masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makanan organik memang lebih sehat dalam cara pola tanamnya dan dari penelitian terbatas didapatkan bahwa makanan organik memang memiliki kandungan gizi yang lebih tinggi
