¿Es eficaz la disciplina contra la conducta fraudulenta en el trabajo? Una aproximación desde los paradigmas básicos que explican “la mala conducta” en las organizaciones

El presente trabajo discute la eficacia de la estrategia coercitiva en prevenir, disuadir y corregir el “mal comportamiento” en el trabajo. Se discuten los pa-radigmas que sustentan los mecanismos que explican la aparición de la “mala conducta” en las organizaciones, los cuales son usados como pauta de trabajo para calibrar la eficacia de la disciplina. Las conclusiones del presente estudio sugieren una limitada, aunque existente, teórica utilidad de la disciplina para controlar “la mala conducta” en las organizaciones.This paper discusses the effectiveness of coercive strategy to prevent, deter and amend the “bad behavior” at work. Paradigms underlying mechanisms that explain the emergence of misbehavior in working organizations are discussed as a guideline to gauge the effectiveness of the discipline at work. Escherichia coli EHEC Germany outbreak preliminary functional annotation using BG7 system

We have annotated the European outbreak E. coli EHEC genome sequenced by BGI (6-2-2011) and assembled with MIRA by Nick Loman (6-2-2011 ). Our system BG7, Bacterial Genome annotation of Era7 Bioinformatics, predicts ORFs and annotates them based on fragments of similarity with Uniprot proteins. We have predicted 6327 genes, 6156 encoding proteins y 171 corresponding to ribosomal and tRNA. Based on the preliminary results of our semi-automated method of annotation we have selected some predicted proteins with potential implications in pathogenicity and virulence.
There are 33 predicted genes annotated as toxins and we have found three putative hemolysins: Hemolysin E, a putative hemolysin expression modulating protein and a channel protein, hemolysin III family. We have found 31 predicted genes that could be related to specific antibiotic resistance: beta-lactamic, aminoglycoside, macrolide, polymyxin, tetracycline, fosfomycin and deoxycholate, novobiocin, chloramphenicol, bicyclomycin, norfloxacin and enoxacin and 6-mercaptopurine. This strain is rich in adhesion, secretion systems, pathogenicity and virulence related proteins. It seems to have a restriction-modification system, many proteins involved in Fe transport and utilization (siderophores as aerobactin and enterobactin), lysozyme, one inhibitor of pancreatic serine proteases, proteins involved in anaerobic respiration, antimicrobial peptides, and proteins involved in quorum sensing and biofilm formation that could confer competitive advantage to this strain

New species and new records of Lygistorrhina Skuse from Mexico (Diptera: Lygistorrhinidae)

Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) acahuizotla sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on adults from the locality of Acahuizotla in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The species is related to Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) alexi Huerta & Ibáñez-Bernal. The male is distinguished mainly from other congeneric species by the presence of a pair of preapical setae on the mediotergite, pale-yellow fore coxa, with brown pigmentation medially, and “U-shaped” tegmen. New records of Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) alexi Huerta & Ibáñez-Bernal from Tecpan de Galeana, in the state of Guerrero and from Biology Station of Chamela, in the state of Jalisco, both in west Mexico, are added. A key to the species of Lygistorrhina from Mexico is provided.Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) acahuizotla sp. nov., es descrita e ilustrada basada en adultos procedentes de la localidad de Acahuizotla, en el estado de Guerrero, México. Nuevos registros de Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) alexi Huerta & Ibáñez-Bernal de Tecpan de Galeana, para el estado de Guerrero y para la Estación Biológica de Chamela, en el estado de Jalisco, ambos registros son incluidos al occidente de México. Estudio del impacto de las dismetrías leves en las presiones plantares y variables oscilométricas en niños y adolescentes de la Comunidad de Madrid

La diferencia de longitud de las extremidades, o anisomelia, se define como una condición en la que alguno de los miembros, bien superior o inferior, es notablemente desigual frente al otro. Cuando esta diferencia se detecta en las extremidades inferiores, se conoce como discrepancia en la longitud de las extremidades inferiores (DLEEII, en inglés: LLD, “Leg Length Discrepancy” o LLI, “Leg Length Inequality”) o también dismetría de piernas o del miembro inferior (DM). Las DLEEII son bastante frecuentes en la población adulta, con una prevalencia que se encuentra entre el 40% y el 70% y una magnitud media de desigualdad anatómica mayor de 2 cm en aproximadamente un 0,1% de la misma. Si bien diversas teorías establecen que una DLEEII altera la postura corporal de una persona afectando a determinadas actividades de la vida diaria y pueden ser causa de trastornos del aparato locomotor, no existe un criterio unánime sobre la magnitud de DLEEII necesaria para inducir una respuesta en la postura, así como suponer un impacto clínico. Por otro lado existen estudios que sugieren que la edad de inicio puede ser un factor determinante y que los niños pueden compensar una DLEEII más fácilmente que los adultos que han experimentado su repentina aparición..

Gastos en defensa y seguridad y gasto en educación básica en Colombia (1998-2010)

Esta investigación sobre el Gasto en Defensa y Seguridad (GDS) , y el Gasto en Educación Básica, en Colombia, entre los años 1998 a 2010, utiliza la teoría del Capital Humano. Abarca tres períodos presidenciales sucesivos, y combina el análisis de cifras estadísticas, con la revisión de documentos de variados, que han tratado este tema en años recientes, buscando obtener una revisión de cómo se destinaron los recursos del Presupuesto Nacional a dichos rubros. Se revisa el uso eficaz de estos recursos, y si dichos gastos han incidido en el desarrollo económico y humano. También, se examina si el enorme crecimiento del GDS restringió los aportes del erario requeridos para mejorar el acceso y la calidad de la educación básica de los colombianos

Influencia de la imagen corporativa en la eficiencia de los servicios públicos: un análisis empírico

The paper aims to deal with the problems of efficiency measurement of organisations managing state social services from the perspective of the corporate image they project to different social collectives, and particularly, users. Taking the initial hypothesis that management of state services in charge of social services pursues as a priority the satisfaction of citizens using the services, we consider extremely suggestive the specific experience in the Social Security Office of Las Palmas, Gran Canaries, where, surprisingly, we have witnessed scant acceptance of practical improvements in perceived public opinion. The reason, apparently, resides in the obstacle represented by the prevailing overall image of the institution, which we could almost say renders efforts at other levels useless. If these conclusions extracted from the aforementioned paper are verifiable it may be that social security services systems throughout Spanish territory should seriously consider the need of including in their plans an improvement in their management quality, efficient attention to their corporate image and communication strategy. Coupled path and motion planning for a rover-manipulator system

This paper introduces a motion planning strategy aimed at the coordination of a rover and manipulator. The main purpose is to fetch samples of scientific interest that could be placed on difficult locations, requiring to maximize the workspace of the combined system. In order to validate this strategy, a simulation environment has been built, based on the VORTEX Studio platform. A virtual model of the ExoTer rover prototype, owned by the European Space Agency, has been used together with the same robot control software. Finally, we show in this paper the benefits of validating the proposed strategy on simulation, prior to its future use on the real experimental rover.Universidad de Málaga. Arquitectura Deportiva como Alternativa de Vida, Bogotá, Colombia

El presente proyecto de grado es un centro deportivo de alto rendimiento ubicado en la cuidad de Bogotá, que busca responder a un déficit de equipamientos con la adecuación necesaria para la realización de deportes de alto rendimiento y escenarios de esparcimiento, con un énfasis arquitectónico, donde a partir de una configuración de espacios se logre tener una conexión inmediata con el espacio público, teniendo una articulación entre el proyecto y su contexto inmediato. Debido a la falta de interés por parte de la población, en su mayoría adolescentes, siendo más de un 80% los jóvenes quienes no tienen ningún tipo de actividad física, el enfoque principal es aumentar un porcentaje considerable en la participación de la población para lograr una reducción del sedentarismo de la comunidad juvenil y de la población mayor, de manera que tengan un espacio con las adecuaciones necesarias que les permita y les facilite la realización de deportes. El deporte y la recreación son de vital importancia para el desarrollo físico y mental de la población. El deporte también cumple un papel importante para disminución del riesgo de hasta 13 tipos de cáncer. Teniendo en cuenta esa medida es necesario abarcar el tema de instalaciones que cumplan con los parámetros para la realización de su práctica, formando así una estrecha relación que contribuye a su desarrollo deportivo.This degree project is a high-performance sports center located in the city of Bogota, with a city-wide coverage (Bogota) that seeks to respond to a deficit of equipment with the necessary adequacy for the realization of high-performance sports and recreational scenarios, with an architectural emphasis, where from a configuration of spaces we achieve an immediate connection with the public space, having an articulation between the project and its immediate context. Due to the lack of interest on the part of the population, mostly teenagers, being more than 80% of young people who do not have any type of physical activity, the main focus is to increase a considerable percentage of participation of the population, to achieve a reduction of the sedentary lifestyle of the youth community and the older population so that they have a space or scenario with the necessary adaptations that allow them and facilitate the realization of sports. Sports and recreation play an important role every day in the development of society and in good physical and health conditioning. Sport also plays an important role in reducing the risk of up to 13 types of cancer. Taking into account this measure it is necessary to cover the issue of facilities that meet the parameters for the realization of its practice, thus forming a close relationship that contributes to its sporting development
