Consultancy services for the mid-term evaluation of the mathematical sciences for climate resilience (MS4CR) programme at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)
This final report constitutes the final deliverable in the mid-term evaluation of the AIMS MS4CR programme (hereafter referred to as âthe MTEâ). As per the agreement between IDRC/GAC and the AIMS Secretariat, this external evaluation was commissioned to review and document results from the MS4CR. The evaluation is both summative and formative in nature. It covers the period 2017-2020. The present report follows a data collection phase conducted from March to June 2021. It was drafted based on an extensive desk review, data analysis, bibliometric analysis, interviews with around 40 stakeholders, a peer review of the curricula, and a learning workshop organised September 15th. The evaluation concludes that the AIMS MS4CR programme is highly relevant and is performing satisfactorily. Despite problems at the programmeâs inception, and difficulties associated with COVID 19, most elements of the programme have started and have achieved their first results

âPractical effects strike back!â : Justified or not? Movie fans complain about CGI in contemporary blockbuster-cinema
For some years, sustainable development has imposed itself as a societal value. Enterprises are facing growing expectations and aspirations from their stakeholders. Sustainable development has become both a strategic imperative and a âsource of strategic stakesâ for enterprises, irrespective of their sector of activities. However, the issue relating to the implementation or conversion of such a polysemous, polymorphic and protean concept into clear and relevant management practices remains a deep concern for the enterprises that are willing to integrate sustainable development in their strategies. This work aims at developing a comprehensive approach in line with the implementation of the concept of sustainable development in the framework of voluntarist strategies. To do so, the privileged theoretical standpoint has been the resources and competence model. Such a qualitative research consists in a multiple case study, in a perspective of literal replication. To describe, analyze and understand the implementation of sustainable development, semi-directing interviews have been carried, along with secondary data collection. This research is instrumental in stabilizing and putting in perspective the concept of sustainable development in the field of management science. First of all, it brings into focus four strategic attitudes that are likely to be adopted by enterprises, and then suggests two complementary modalities for implementing the concept of sustainable development. And finally, it offers several implementation approaches - stated in a thematic way- to address the aforementioned concept.

Panafrican Union for Science and Technology (P.U.S.T.). The most cultivated twenty local varieties of Sweet Potato in Ituri District have been put in competition al INERA-NIOKA Research Center in order to compare their performances. Five of them have been eliminated during undergoing trials owing to their low productivity. The Kenya variety with yellowish skin and yellow flesh has proved itself to be resistant to viroses attacks with a produre and a very high number of tubers. Again, given its very short vegetative cycle (about four months) this variety can be used as a witness in further trials with exotic materials
