Differential Pulse Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetric Determination of Benzocaine and Butacaine with Nafion Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

    Get PDF
A sensitive, simple and accurate differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetric (DPAdSV) method for determination of benzocaine (BZE) and butacaine (BTE) using a nafion modified glassy carbon electrode (NMGCE) is described. NMGCE exhibited significantly increased sensitivity and selectivity for BZE and BTE compared to the bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Factors affecting peak currents, such as accumulation potential, accumulation time, presence of surfactants, buffer pH, etc. for the determination of BZE and BTE, were studied using DPAdSV. The modified electrode was less susceptible to peak depression than the bare electrode in the presence of surfactants and ascorbic acid. Peak currents showed a linear response in the concentration range 3.2 x 10–9 to 4.5 x 10–7 mol dm–3 for BZE and 4.2 x 10–9 to 3.6 x 10–7 mol dm–3 for BTE, with the respective limits of detection (LOD) of 2.4 x 10–9 mol dm–3 and 3.6 x 10–9 mol dm–3 at NMGCE. The method has been successfully applied for the determination of BZE and BTE in a spiked human urine sample. Repeatability and reproducibility of the proposed method were also studied

Efficient and high-yielding protocol for the synthesis of nitriles from aldehydes

    Get PDF
An operationally simple and high-yielding procedure was developed for the conversion of aryl aldehydes into the corresponding nitriles using p-toluenesulfonic acid as a mild catalyst under microwave irradn. The products were characterized by IR spectral anal. and by comparison of the melting and b.ps. with the reported values

Synthesis, characterization and in vitro biological evaluation of some new 1,3,5-triazine-bis-azomethine hybrid molecules as potential antitubercular agents

    Get PDF
A series of 1,3,5-triazine-bis-azomethinehybrid molecules (4a-p and 5a-p) were synthesized and tested against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain. Preparation of the titled compounds was achieved by reaction of N-(4-aminobenzylidene)-4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-amine (3) with aromatic/heteroaromatic aldehydes (4a-p)and ketones (5a-p). Among the compounds tested, (4d) was identified as the most active in vitro with MIC value 3.125 µg/mL against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv

A versatile and an efficient synthesis of 5-substituted-1H-tetrazoles

    Get PDF
A simple, efficient and a versatile method for the synthesis of 5-substituted-1H-tetrazoles by a [3+2]-cycloaddn. reaction of aryl nitriles with sodium azide in DMF using ZrOCl2·8 H2O as catalyst has been developed. The reactions work well at 100°C and give the desired products in excellent yield. The examples studied include arom. nitriles having electron donating as well as electron releasing groups on the arene nucleus

Impact of Nanosilica in Ordinary Portland Cement over Its Durability and Properties

    Get PDF
The present examination illustrates the impact on the hardened and fresh cement mortar and cement with the inclusion of nanosilica of size 40 nm in various environmental conditions (UltraTech, India). It is quite notified that an elevation in compressive strength as well as flexural strength along with an improvisation in the performance and life span of cement mortar. The samples of M5 grade blended with a ninety percentage of concrete and remaining with nanosilica was identified to have a finer working elevation in as well as in standards when collated with the conventional cement mortar. The corollary of hardened and fresh cement, strength parameters were looked upon with the aid of XRD (X-ray Diffraction). Also, the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) test holds a predominant role in analysis

Study of Dengue virus E proteingene of clinical isolates of Andhra Pradesh: in the contest to Epidemiological features

    Get PDF
In this current article, we showed the dengue virus serotype 2 protein E gene from the clinical samples of Andhra Pradesh in an acute phase infection. The models showed positive for the protein E gene with RT-PCR techniques and cellular isolates. Two unique sequences are identified with new substrains, which are similar to the hermits of the earlier reports. This study provided the epidemiology insight of the isolated strain through the phylogenetic analyses
