The IVS scheduled a special astrometric VLBI session for the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA09) commemorating 400 years of optical astronomy and 40 years of VLBI. The aim of this study is to extend prior work on the methodological evaluation of the 'state of Canadian management research'. This study clearly demonstrates that university and/or researcher rankings, as measured by journal output, are significantly affected by the constructs used and may or may not reflect accurate portrayals of the research activity being conducted at a given institution

In Africa 83(4) (November 2013), Harri Englund discussed several recent books on Zambia published preceding the country’s fiftieth independence anniversary. His article explored the ways in which recent publications by Zambian and Zambianist authors have launched a fresh research agenda, and he focused in particular on the scholarly engagement with liberalism.
