ADS-B Crowd-Sensor Network and Two-Step Kalman Filter for GNSS and ADS-B Cyber-Attack Detection
Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast is an Air Traffic Control system in which aircraft transmit their own information (identity, position, velocity, etc.) to ground sensors for surveillance purposes. This system has many advantages compared to the classical surveillance radars: easy and low-cost implementation, high accuracy of data, and low renewal time, but also limitations: dependency on the Global Navigation Satellite System, a simple unencrypted and unauthenticated protocol. For these reasons, the system is exposed to attacks like jamming/spoofing of the on-board GNSS receiver or false ADS-B messages' injection. After a mathematical model derivation of different types of attacks, we propose the use of a crowd sensor network capable of estimating the Time Difference Of Arrival of the ADS-B messages together with a two-step Kalman filter to detect these attacks (on-board GNSS/ADS-B tampering, false ADS-B message injection, GNSS Spoofing/Jamming). Tests with real data and simulations showed that the algorithm can detect all these attacks with a very high probability of detection and low probability of false alarm
Fully Autonomous Orbit Determination and Synchronization for Satellite Navigation and Communication Systems in Halo Orbits
This paper presents a solution for autonomous orbit determination and time synchronization of spacecraft in Halo orbits around Lagrange points using inter-satellite links. Lagrange points are stable positions in the gravitational field of two large bodies that allow for a sustained presence of a spacecraft in a specific region. However, a challenge in operating at these points is the lack of fixed landmarks for orbit determination. The proposed solution involves using inter-satellite links to perform range and range-rate measurements, allowing for accurate computation of the spacecraft's orbit parameters without the need for any facilities on Earth. Simulations using a fleet of three satellites in Near Rectilinear Halo Orbits around the Earth-Moon Lagrange point, proposed for the Lunar Gateway stations, were conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the approach. The results show that inter-satellite links can provide reliable and accurate solutions for orbit determination with a DRMS error lower than one meter (90th percentile) and synchronization errors of around one nanosecond. This solution paves the way for a fully autonomous fleet of spacecraft that can be used for observation, telecommunication, and navigation missions
On Expectations-Driven Business Cycles in Economies with Production Externalities: A Comment
Eusepi (2009, International Journal of Economic Theory 5, pp. 9-23) analytically finds that a one-sector real business cycle model may exhibit positive co-movement between consumption and investment when the equilibrium wage-hours locus is positively-sloped and steeper than the household's labor supply curve. However, we show that this condition does not imply expectations-driven business cycles will emerge in Eusepi's model. Specifically, a positive news shock about future productivity improvement leads to an aggregate recession whereby output, employment, consumption and investment all fall in the announcement period.Expectations-Driven Business Cycles; Production Externalities.
THE INFLUENCE OF FOLIAR FERTILIZATION WITH HUMIC ACIDS ON THE PRODUCTION OF WHITE CABBAGE
The main purpose of the study was to test the effect of some fertilizers based on humic acids on autumn cabbage,Bucharest F1 in the ecological conditions of the South-West of Romania. The foliar products applied were formulated and obtained by ICPA Bucharest. The biological material was represented by the Bucharest F1 hybrid. The experience included three variants: V1-untreated, V2-foliar fertilization with Deceneu and V3 foliar fertilization with Humifert Plus. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, biometric determinations have been carried out on the eatable organs: height and diameter of the head, the shape index and the degree of stuffi,but also the quantity and quality of the cabbage production. BiDAl: Big Data Analyzer for Cluster Traces
Modern data centers that provide Internet-scale services are stadium-size structures housing tens of thousands of heterogeneous devices (server clusters, networking equipment, power and cooling infrastructures) that must operate continuously and reliably. As part of their operation, these devices produce large amounts of data in the form of event and error logs that are essential not only for identifying problems but also for improving data center efficiency and management. These activities employ data analytics and often exploit hidden statistical patterns and correlations among different factors present in the data. Uncovering these patterns and correlations is challenging due to the sheer volume of data to be analyzed. This paper presents BiDAl, a prototype “log-data analysis framework” that incorporates various Big Data technologies to simplify the analysis of data traces from large clusters. BiDAl is written in Java with a modular and extensible architecture so that different storage backends (currently, HDFS and SQLite are supported), as well as different analysis languages (current implementation supports SQL, R and Hadoop MapReduce) can be easily selected as appropriate. We present the design of BiDAl and describe our experience using it to analyze several public traces of Google data clusters for building a simulation model capable of reproducing observed behavior
Nonlinear transport in NaVO
Transport properties of the charge ordering compound
NaVO are studied in the temperature range from 30 K to
300 K using current driven DC conductivity experiments. It is found that below
the metal-insulator transition temperature (T = 136 K) this material
shows a typical nonlinear charge density wave behavior. The observed

The anatomy of a horizontally impacted maxillary wisdom tooth
A completely horizontally impacted upper third molar was revealed after routine
dissection of a 62-year-old human cadaver of a Caucasian male. The molar
was penetrating into the maxillary sinus and there was antral dehiscence of its
bony alveolus. The bony alveolus was immediately in front of the greater palatine
canal contents, and the bottom of the alveolus was dehiscent towards
the greater palatine foramen. Within the greater palatine canal and foramen
the greater palatine artery was duplicated and the nerve was found. Such antral
relations of an impacted upper third molar predispose to oroantral communications
if extraction is performed, while the close neurovascular relations
represent a risk factor for postextractional haemorrhage and neurosensory disturbances
and must be borne in mind when deciding on or performing the

Heavy noble gas (Kr, Xe) irradiated (111)InP nanoporous honeycomb membranes with enhanced ultrafast all-optical terahertz emission
Nanoporous honeycomb membranes on InP (111) surfaces emit ultrafast coherent terahertz pulses under near-infrared optical excitation. Irradiating the membranes with heavy noble gas Kr or Xe ions enhances the terahertz emission. The emission does not vary with in-plane magnetic field rotation and exhibits three-cycle dependence on azimuthal-angle rotation. Both suggest the terahertz source is not transient currents but optical rectification enhanced by the heavy-ion irradiation
