Child Wellbeing in Two-Parent Families: How Do Characteristics and Relationships Matter?
We use data from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study to examine the role of individual and family characteristics, as well as mother-father and parent-child relationships, with regard to differences in wellbeing for children living with their biological mother and either their biological father or a social father. We find that accounting for these factors produces a large decrease in the association between two-parent family type and cognitive skills, but does little to explain the association between family type and externalizing behavior problems, given suppressor effects of several of the father characteristics and relationship measures. Furthermore, results from Blinder-Oaxaca decompositions suggest that differences in cognitive skills can largely be explained by differences in the characteristics and behaviors of the individuals comprising biological- and social-father families, whereas differences in externalizing behavior problems predominantly reflect differences in returns to (effects of) these characteristics and behaviors for children in the two family types.parents, children, relationships, welfare, wellbeing, martial status

Geometry and Destiny
The recognition that the cosmological constant may be non-zero forces us to
re-evaluate standard notions about the connection between geometry and the fate
of our Universe. An open Universe can recollapse, and a closed Universe can
expand forever. As a corollary, we point out that there is no set of
cosmological observations we can perform that will unambiguously allow us to
determine what the ultimate destiny of the Universe will be.Comment: 7 pages, Gravity Research Foundation Essa
Influence of social and work exchange relationships on organizational citizenship behavior, The
Previous studies explain situational antecedents of OCB using social exchange theory. However, the effects of factors such as perceptions of job characteristics on OCB seem to require a different explanatory mechanism. We propose that these effects can be explained through a new exchange relationship that we call work exchange. We develop a theory for the situational antecedents of OCB that includes economic, work, and social exchange relationships. The theory is tested using structural equations.exchange relationship; organizational citizenship behavior; organizational commitment; perceived organizational support; job characteristics;
Cytotoxicity Study Of Mezzetiaparviflorabecc. Woodbark
The cytotoxic activity of acetone insoluble extract of MezzetiaparvifloraBecc. Wood bark was evaluated on HeLa cell line and it was compared with normal vero cell line to confirming the use of the plant as a traditional medicine for tumor. The experiment with normal vero cell line using MTT assay showed a percentage of cell viability of 96.8% at1000 µg of concentration which was not increase with the increase of concentration of the extract. Whereas, the experiment on HeLa cell line showed a low cytotoxic activity with the viability percentage was found to be 87.4% at1000μg/ml. Therefore the extract was categorized as non-toxic and the next studies is necessary to explore the mechanism liable of the using of the plant extract as anticancer traditional
Probing the Gravitational Wave Signature from Cosmic Phase Transitions at Different Scales
We present a new signature by which to one could potentially discriminate
between a spectrum of gravitational radiation generated by a self-ordering
scalar field vs that of inflation, specifically a comparison of the magnitude
of a flat spectrum at frequencies probed by future direct detection experiments
to the magnitude of a possible polarization signal in the Cosmic Microwave
Background (CMB) radiation. In the process we clarify several issues related to
the proper calculation of such modes, focusing on the effect of
post-horizon-crossing evolution.Comment: 4 pages, Phys. Rev D version (revised in response to referee's

Interpolation of the Josephson interaction in highly anisotropic superconductors from a solution of the two dimensional sine-Gordon equation
In this paper we solve numerically the two dimensional elliptic sine-Gordon
equation with appropriate boundary conditions. These boundary conditions are
chosen to correspond to the Josephson interaction between two adjacent pancakes
belonging to the same flux-line in a highly anisotropic superconductor. An
extrapolation is obtained between the regimes of low and high separation of the
pancakes. The resulting formula is a better candidate for use in numerical
simulations than previously derived formulas.Comment: 18 pages, 9 figure
Molecular Dynamics of pancake vortices with realistic interactions: Observing the vortex lattice melting transition
In this paper we describe a version of London Langevin molecular dynamics
simulations that allows for investigations of the vortex lattice melting
transition in the highly anisotropic high-temperature superconductor material
BiSrCaCuO. We include the full electromagnetic
interaction as well as the Josephson interaction among pancake vortices. We
also implement periodic boundary conditions in all directions, including the
z-axis along which the magnetic field is applied. We show how to implement flux
cutting and reconnection as an analog to permutations in the multilevel Monte
Carlo scheme and demonstrate that this process leads to flux entanglement that
proliferates in the vortex liquid phase. The first-order melting transition of
the vortex lattice is observed to be in excellent agreement with previous
multilevel Monte Carlo simulations.Comment: 4 figure
