    Ditengah pergulatan pendidikan Islam dan dunia modern yang menurut Rahman terdapat dikotomi, maka ia mencoba menyatukanya demi menemukan esensi pendidikan Islam yang sesuai dengan tuntutan zaman. Harapanya adalah dengan dipadukanya pendidikan modern dan Islam maka kelak akan muncul tokoh-tokoh muslim yang tidak hanya memiliki pengetahuan agama yang luas tapi juga mampu berdialektika dengan realitas kehidupan sosial. Gagasan pemikiran pendidikan Fazlur Rahman berawal dari kegelisahanya akan anggapan bahwa pendidikan Islam ketinggalan jauh dibandingkan dengan Barat. Sampai pada batas tertentu, pandangan seperti ini dapat dibenarkan, ketika pendidikan itu dipandang dari sudut kemajuan di dunia ini saja Pendidikan Islam bagi Rahman adalah suatu yang integral dan saling terkait, baik itu ilmu keduniaan (sains) dan ilmu agama atau keahiratan. Berdasarkan pada pandangan Fazlur Rahman tentang pendidikan, setidaknya terdapat dua model pendidikan yang berasal dari gagasanya. Yang pertama adalah pendidikan Islam yang kritis dan kreatif dan selanjutnya pendidikan Islam yang menjunjung moralitas yang tinggi

    In this paper we present a survey of work that has been done in the project ldquo;Unsupervised Adaptive P300 BCI in the framework of chaotic theory and stochastic theoryrdquo;we summarised the following papers, (Mohammed J Alhaddad amp; 2011), (Mohammed J. Alhaddad amp; Kamel M, 2012), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, amp; Al-Otaibi, 2013), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, amp; Bakheet, 2013), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, amp; Al-Otaibi, 2014), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, amp; Bakheet, 2014), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, amp; Kadah, 2014), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Kamel, Makary, Hargas, amp; Kadah, 2014), (Mohammed J Alhaddad, Mohammed, Kamel, amp; Hagras, 2015).We developed a new pre-processing method for denoising P300-based brain-computer interface data that allows better performance with lower number of channels and blocks. The new denoising technique is based on a modified version of the spectral subtraction denoising and works on each temporal signal channel independently thus offering seamless integration with existing pre-processing and allowing low channel counts to be used. We also developed a novel approach for brain-computer interface data that requires no prior training. The proposed approach is based on interval type-2 fuzzy logic based classifier which is able to handle the usersrsquo; uncertainties to produce better prediction accuracies than other competing classifiers such as BLDA or RFLDA. In addition, the generated type-2 fuzzy classifier is learnt from data via genetic algorithms to produce a small number of rules with a rule length of only one antecedent to maximize the transparency and interpretability for the normal clinician. We also employ a feature selection system based on an ensemble neural networks recursive feature selection which is able to find the effective time instances within the effective sensors in relation to given P300 event. The basic principle of this new class of techniques is that the trial with true activation signal within each block has to be different from the rest of the trials within that block. Hence, a measure that is sensitive to this dissimilarity can be used to make a decision based on a single block without any prior training. The new methods were verified using various experiments which were performed on standard data sets and using real-data sets obtained from real subjects experiments performed in the BCI lab in King Abdulaziz University. The results were compared to the classification results of the same data using previous methods. Enhanced performance in different experiments as quantitatively assessed using classification block accuracy as well as bit rate estimates was confirmed. It will be shown that the produced type-2 fuzzy logic based classifier will learn simple rules which are easy to understand explaining the events in question. In addition, the produced type-2 fuzzy logic classifier will be able to give better accuracies when compared to BLDA or RFLDA on various human subjects on the standard and real-world data sets

    A Review: Impact of Static and Impact Load on the Mechanical Properties of Plastic Concrete

    This review search seeks to know how the replacement effect on concrete is by replacing aggregate (coarse or fine) with plastic granules. Plastic does not dissolve in the climate and provides an early warning for collapses when mixed with concrete to give it more flexibility, making it more crucial to resist tensile stresses, increasing its strength, and seeking to make it more durable. The use of plastic is expanding day by day because of the rapid population increase and their constant demand. Every day, this causes a considerable amount of rubbish, which is harmful and causes pollution and plastic materials to take hundreds of years to dissolve. Solid waste management is currently a difficulty in any country, and the large-scale depletion of resources is causing environmental issues. For the concrete business, an alternative or alternative product must be produced. Plastic waste is the most challenging problem in solid waste management globally. In many countries, concrete has been one of the most excellent solutions for construction materials. It has hastened the pollution of the environment. It would be worthwhile to use plastic waste in concrete to solve the dual problems of a lack of raw materials and the safe disposal of plastic trash.     Effect of real time aging and cyclic fatigue on fused and cemented machined veneers to Y-TZP zirconia

    OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this study was to determine the differences in failure load between cemented and fused machined veneers to zirconia while observing the effects of real time aging on failure load between cemented and fused machined veneers to zirconia. The study was to examine the differences in aging and fatigue resistance amongst a machined glass-ceramic veneer and a machined feldspathic porcelain veneer. MATERIALS AND METHODS: VITA In Ceram YZ zirconia blocks were used as a substructure framework for the three unit fixed partial denture. The veneering material was either milled IPS e.max CAD (glass-ceramic) or milled VITABLOCS Triluxe Forte (feldspathic porcelain). The types of linking material between the substructures and veneering material were either fusing or cementation. Observations were compared between aged and non-aged specimens divided into two main groups; (a) non-aged group (b) aged for three years at room temperature. Each group has two subgroups; fused and cemented which are further divided into static and cyclic fatigue at 20K, 60K and 80K. Specimens were subjected to load to failure test using universal test machine. 40% of failure load was calculated for the cyclic fatigue subgroups. In order to examine the difference in failure load between the static and fatigued specimens, the Tukey-Kramer HSD test was used to analyze the data. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: The VITABLOCS Triluxe Forte (feldspathic porcelain) fused to YZ zirconia showed significantly lower failure load values compared to all the other groups (p˂0.05). The non-aged VITABLOCS Triluxe Forte cemented to YZ zirconia (static and cyclic) showed significantly higher load to failure than the aged cemented Triluxe fatigued groups (p˂0.05). There is no significant difference in failure load between IPS e.max CAD fused and IPS e.max CAD cemented to YZ zirconia framework (p˃0.05). The aged IPS e.max CAD fatigued (20K, 60K and 80K cycles) cemented to YZ zirconia showed lower significant difference in failure load among all the other IPS e.max groups. (p˂0.05)

    Pembentukan Karakter; (Studi Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Uin Sunan Kalijaga YOGYAKARTA)

    Latar belakang masalah yang mendorong penelitian ini adalah realitas bahwa mahasiswa yang menjadi generasi bangsa masih cenderung melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilarang oleh agama seperti melakukan kerusakan, pakaian yang tidak sopan, dan sebagainya. Tanpa disadari, unit kegiatan mahasiswa telah membantu Universitas untuk menjadikan mahasiswa berkarakter melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilakukan secara terus-menerus. Dengan alasan inilah penulis meneliti lebih jauh tentang pembentukan karakter di Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) Mengetahui pembentukan karakter di Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. (2) Untuk Mengetahui efektifitas pembentukan karakter di Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. (3) Untuk mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pembentukan karakter di Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian Kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pendekatan yang digunakan berupa pendekatan Fenomenologi. Maksudnya dalam penelitian Kualitatif, data yang dikumpulkan bukan berupa angka-angka melainkan data tersebut berasal dari hasil wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan atau catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembentukan karakter di Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta meliputi strategi knowing the good, strategi loving and feeling the good, strategi action the good, keteladanan, dan taubat. Strategi di atas di integrasikan dengan program kegiatan yang telah membentuk mahasiswa mempunyai karakter religius, ikhlas, tanggungjawab, percaya diri, disiplin, kepemimpinan, kreatif, kerja keras, komunikatif, peduli sosial, dan peduli lingkungan. Setelah melakukan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentsi di lapangan bahwa dapat disimpulkan kegiatan-kegiatan yang telah dilakasanakan oleh Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa efektif untuk membentuk karakter mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Sedangkan dalam membentuk karakter mahasiswa melalui Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa pasti ada faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat proses tersebut, penulis menggunakan analisis SWOT dalam melihat kedua faktor di atas yang meliputi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman. Namun semua faktor itu tidak menghambat jika mahasiswa melakukan program kegiatan dengan konsisten dan penuh tanggunjawab
