    Characterization and Evaluation of Papayas Genetically Transformed with the Coat Protein Gene of Papaya Ringspot Virus

    Genetically engineered papayas (Carica papaya L.) transformed with the coat protein gene of papaya ringspot virus (PRV) were characterized for morphology, fertility, transgene expression and evaluated for viral disease resistance. Among the R0 plants examined were 18 lines produced by means of particle bombardment and 4 lines produced by Agrobacterium transformation. Most of the plant lines appeared to be normal in morphology and fertility, except for a few that showed either a certain level of sterility or polyploidy. Selected R1 progenies resulting either from self-pollinations of R0 plants or from crosses with non-transgenic plants, were evaluated in the greenhouse. Progeny analyses showed that most transgenes segregated in a simple Mendelian fashion. Progeny derived from R0 line 55-1 showed a high level of protection against PRV infection, while other R1 progenies showed variable responses, from delay of symptoms to complete susceptibility to the virus. Two R0 lines and three of the coat protein positive (CP+) R1 lines were evaluated in the field for resistance to PRV. CP+ R0 line 55-1 and its subsequent R1 progeny showed a very good level of resistance to PRV, while other lines tested were either susceptible or showed only delayed symptoms following inoculation by the virus. The resistant line 55-1 showed vigorous growth with normal morphology and acceptable fruit quality under field conditions

    Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui jalur distribusi pemasaran, Margin keuntungan tiap lembaga pemasaran dan nilai efisensi pemasaran sapi potong dimasa pandemi covid-19. Penelitain ini di laksanakan di Kecamatan Asparaga, Tolangohula, Boliyohuto, Mootilango, dan di Kecamatan Pulubala, pada bulan September-November 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jalur distribusi pemasaran pada masa pandemi terdapat 2 (Dua) jalur distribusi pemasaran yang secara langsung dan 3 (Tiga) jalur distribusi yang tidak secara langsung. Margin pada masa pandemi yaitu jalur distribusi I Rp.0, jalur distribusi II Rp. 3.000.000, jalur distribusi III Rp. 6.000.000, jalur distribusi IV Rp. 4.000.000, jalur distribusi V Rp. 4.000.000. Tingkat efisiensi pemasaran pada masa pandemi jalur distribusi pemasaran  yang  paling efisien adalah jalur distribusi pemasaran tipe I yakni  0,5%, dan jalur distribusi pemasaran V yakni 0,05%,  dan lainnya tidak efisien. Terdapat 2 jalur pemasaran di masa pandemic Covid yakni jalur pemasaran langsung dan tidak langsung, dan jalur pemasaran lansung memiliki tingkat efisen yang baik, sedangkan yang lainnya tidak efisien

    Improving the Customer Support Process for a Software Product: A Holistic View

    A ship spends most of its life cycle during its service phase. This includes customer support for onboard software systems advising the crew on optimal vessel operation. To improve the relationships between the customers and the case company, this thesis investigates how can the customer support process for a software product be improved at the case company. First in this study, a literature review was conducted on software customer support frameworks to understand the existing methodologies and their strengths and weaknesses. Then, an empirical study at the case company was conducted by interviewing both the support engineers and a customer organisation of the system. The research found out that while the internal customer support process was well defined, some customers had problems with consistent communication from the case company. Also, issues with knowledge management were found which are tied to internal documentation and reporting practices. The supporting systems of the customer support, such as the ticketing and monitoring systems, had great usability and technical issues. Adopting process models from either CMMI, a maturity model for services, or ITIL, an IT service management framework, could improve the quality of the customer support. In addition, service design can help find future improvements for the service system

    The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of scout extracurricular activities on student discipline. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was 30 students who took part in scout extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 13 Padang, and a sample was taken as much as the existing population. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and documentation and using literature from various media. While the data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that scout extracurricular activities have a positive influence on the learning discipline that exists in students. This proves from simple linear regression that a significant value is found of 0.04 < than a constant value of 0.05%, this value indicates that Ha is accepted or has a positive influence. So there is an influence between scout extracurricular activities on the discipline of students at SMA Negeri 13 Padang
