Identified Hadrons and Jet Chemistry for p+p and Au+Au Collisions at RHIC
The study of hadron spectra at high in p+p collisions provides a good
test of perturbative quantum chromo-dynamic calculations (pQCD) and baseline
for measurements of nuclear modification factors in Au+Au collisions. Using
events triggered by the Barrel Electro-Magnetic Calorimeter, identified charged
hadron transverse momentum () spectra are measured up to 15 GeV/ at
mid-rapidity ( 0.5) and neutral kaon spectra up to 12
GeV/ in p + p collisions at = 200 GeV. The particle ratios
of , and / in p + p
collisions are shown and compared with next-to-leading order pQCD calculations.
In central Au+Au collisions, we report nuclear modification factors ()
for pion, kaon, proton and and discuss several model calculations:
color-charge dependence of jet quenching and jet conversion. Finally,
centrality dependence of at high ( 5.5 GeV/c) for kaon are

A Multiphase Strategy for Realizing Green Cathodoluminescence in 12CaO·7Al2O3–CaCeAl3O7:Ce3+,Tb3+ Conductive Phosphor
A multiphase strategy is proposed and successfully applied to make the insulating green phosphor CaCeAl3O7:Tb3+ conductive in the form of 12CaO·7Al2O3–CaCeAl3O7:Ce3+,Tb3+. The phosphor shows bright green-light emission with a short lifetime (2.51 ms) under low-voltage electron beam excitation (3 kV). The green photo- and cathodoluminescence from 5D4–7FJ (J = 6, 5, 4, 3) transitions of Tb3+ are significantly enhanced in comparison with pure C12A7:Tb3+. It was confirmed that this enhancement is the consequence of the joint effects of energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ and broadening of the absorption spectrum of Ce3+ due to the existence of multiple phases. In particular, under 800 V electron beam excitation, cathodoluminescence is improved by the modified electrical conductivity of the phosphor. When compared to the commercial Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ with a long luminescence lifetime of 11.9 ms, this conductive green phosphor has greater advantage for fast displays
H2A ubiquitination is essential for Polycomb Repressive Complex 1-mediated gene regulation in Marchantia polymorpha
Background Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) and PRC2 are chromatin regulators maintaining transcriptional repression. The deposition of H3 lysine 27 tri-methylation (H3K27me3) by PRC2 is known to be required for transcriptional repression, whereas the contribution of H2A ubiquitination (H2Aub) in the Polycomb repressive system remains unclear in plants. Results We directly test the requirement of H2Aub for gene regulation in Marchantia polymorpha by generating point mutations in H2A that prevent ubiquitination by PRC1. These mutants show reduced H3K27me3 levels on the same target sites as mutants defective in PRC1 subunits MpBMI1 and the homolog MpBMI1L, revealing that PRC1-catalyzed H2Aub is essential for Polycomb system function. Furthermore, by comparing transcriptome data between mutants in MpH2A and MpBMI1/1L, we demonstrate that H2Aub contributes to the PRC1-mediated transcriptional level of genes and transposable elements. Conclusion Together, our data demonstrates that H2Aub plays a direct role in H3K27me3 deposition and is required for PRC1-mediated transcriptional changes in both genes and transposable elements in Marchantia
FIMO: A Challenge Formal Dataset for Automated Theorem Proving
We present FIMO, an innovative dataset comprising formal mathematical problem
statements sourced from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)
Shortlisted Problems. Designed to facilitate advanced automated theorem proving
at the IMO level, FIMO is currently tailored for the Lean formal language. It
comprises 149 formal problem statements, accompanied by both informal problem
descriptions and their corresponding LaTeX-based informal proofs. Through
initial experiments involving GPT-4, our findings underscore the existing
limitations in current methodologies, indicating a substantial journey ahead
before achieving satisfactory IMO-level automated theorem proving outcomes
