Meson Decay Constants from Isospin Mass Splittings in the Quark Model
Decay constants of and mesons are estimated within the framework of a
heavy-quark approach using measured isospin mass splittings in the , ,
and states to isolate the electromagnetic hyperfine interaction between
quarks. The values MeV and MeV are
obtained. Only experimental errors are given; possible theoretical ambiguities,
and suggestions for reducing them, are noted.Comment: 7 pages, LaTeX, EFI-92-3
Radiative decay of Upsilon(nS) into S-wave sbottomonium
A calculation is presented of the radiative decay of the Upsilon(nS) into a
bound state of bottom squarks. Predictions are provided of the branching
fraction as a function of the masses of the bottom squark and the gluino.
Branching fractions as large as several times 10^{-4} are obtained for
supersymmetric particle masses in the range suggested by the analysis of
bottom-quark production cross sections. Data are shown that limit the range of
allowed masses. Forthcoming high-statistics data from the CLEO Collaboration
offer possibilities of discovery or significant new bounds on the existence and
masses of supersymmetric particles.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figs, normalizations in Eqs. (12) & (13) corrected, figs.

Measurement of the K_L \to \pi\mu\nu form factor parameters with the KLOE detector
Using 328 pb^{-1}of data collected at DAFNE corresponding to 1.8
million decays, we have measured the form factor
parameters. The structure of the vector-current provides information
about the dynamics of the strong interaction; its knowledge is necessary for
evaluation of the phase-space integral required for measuring the CKM matrix
element and for testing lepton universality in kaon decays. Using a
new parametrization for the vector and scalar form factors, we find
=\pt(25.7\pm 0.6),-3, and =\pt(14.0\pm 2.1),-3,. Our
result for , together with recent lattice calculations of ,

Precision measurement of and determination of the contribution to the muon anomaly with the KLOE detector
We have measured the ratio
, with the KLOE detector at DANE for a total integrated
luminosity of 240 pb. From this ratio we obtain the cross section
. From the cross section we determine the
pion form factor and the two-pion contribution to the muon anomaly
for GeV, = . This result confirms the
current discrepancy between the Standard Model calculation and the experimental
measurement of the muon anomaly.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figures, minor text corrections, one table added, version

Measurement of {\eta} meson production in {\gamma}{\gamma} interactions and {\Gamma}({\eta}-->{\gamma}{\gamma}) with the KLOE detector
We present a measurement of {\eta} meson production in photon-photon
interactions produced by electron-positron beams colliding with \sqrt{s}=1 GeV.
The measurement is done with the KLOE detector at the \phi-factory DA{\Phi}NE
with an integrated luminosity of 0.24 fb^{-1}. The e^+e^- --> e^+e^-{\eta}
cross section is measured without detecting the outgoing electron and positron,
selecting the decays {\eta}-->{\pi}^+{\pi}^-{\pi}^0 and
{\eta}-->{\pi}^0{\pi}^0{\pi}^0. The most relevant background is due to e^+e^-
--> {\eta}{\gamma} when the monochromatic photon escapes detection. The cross
section for this process is measured as {\sigma}(e^+e^- -->{\eta}{\gamma}) =
(856 \pm 8_{stat} \pm 16_{syst}) pb. The combined result for the e^+e^-
-->e^+e^-{\eta} cross section is {\sigma}(e^+e^- -->e^+e^-{\eta}) = (32.72 \pm
1.27_{stat} \pm 0.70_{syst}) pb. From this we derive the partial width
{\Gamma}({\eta}-->{\gamma}{\gamma}) = (520 \pm 20_{stat} \pm 13_{syst}) eV.
This is in agreement with the world average and is the most precise measurement
to date.Comment: Version accepted by JHE
Signals for CPT and Lorentz Violation in Neutral-Meson Oscillations
Experimental signals for indirect CPT violation in the neutral-meson systems
are studied in the context of a general CPT- and Lorentz-violating
standard-model extension. In this explicit theory, some CPT observables depend
on the meson momentum and exhibit diurnal variations. The consequences for CPT
tests vary significantly with the specific experimental scenario. The wide
range of possible effects is illustrated for two types of CPT experiment
presently underway, one involving boosted uncorrelated kaons and the other
involving unboosted correlated kaon pairs.Comment: Accepted in Physical Review D, scheduled for December 1999 issu
Measurement of the branching fraction for the decay KS --> pi e nu
We present a measurement of the branching ratio BR(KS --> pi e nu) performed
using the KLOE detector. KS mesons are produced in the reaction e+ e- --> phi
--> KS KL at the DAFNE collider. In a sample of about 5 million KS-tagged
events we find 624 +- 30 semileptonic KS decays. Normalizing to the KS --> pi+
pi- count in the same data sample, we obtain BR(KS --> pi e nu) = (6.91 +-
0.37) 10^-4, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation.Comment: 9 pages, 5 Encapsulated Postscript figures. Submitted to Phys. Lett.
A new limit on the CP violating decay KS -> 3pi0 with the KLOE experiment
We have carried out a new direct search for the CP violating decay KS -> 3pi0
with 1.7 fb^-1 of e+e- collisions collected by the KLOE detector at the
phi-factory DAFNE. We have searched for this decay in a sample of about 5.9 x
10^8 KS KL events tagging the KS by means of the KL interaction in the
calorimeter and requiring six prompt photons. With respect to our previous
search, the analysis has been improved by increasing of a factor four the
tagged sample and by a more effective background rejection of fake KS tags and
spurious clusters. We find no candidates in data and simulated background
samples, while we expect 0.12 standard model events. Normalizing to the number
of KS -> 2pi0 events in the same sample, we set the upper limit on BR(KS ->
3pi0 < 2.6 x 10^-8 at 90% C.L., five times lower than the previous limit. We
also set the upper limit on the eta_000 parameter, |eta_000 | < 0.0088 at 90%
C.L., improving by a factor two the latest direct measurement.Comment: Accepted for publication in Physics Letters B (15 pages, 13 figures
Study of the a_0(980) meson via the radiative decay phi->eta pi^0 gamma with the KLOE detector
We have studied the phi->a_0(980) gamma process with the KLOE detector at the
Frascati phi-factory DAPhNE by detecting the phi->eta pi^0 gamma decays in the
final states with eta->gamma gamma and eta->pi^+ pi^- pi^0. We have measured
the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi->eta pi^0 gamma)=(7.01 +/-
0.10 +/- 0.20)x10^-5 and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22)x10^-5 respectively. We have
also extracted the a_0(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi^0, K^+ K^-, and to
the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi^0 invariant mass distributions using
different phenomenological models.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B. Corrected typos

Vus and lepton universality from kaon decays with the KLOE detector
KLOE has measured most decay branching ratios of Ks, Kl and K+/- mesons. It
has also measured the Kl and the K+- lifetime and determined the shape of the
form factors involved in kaon semileptonic decays. We present in the following
a description of the above measurements and a well organized compendium of all
of our data, with particular attention to correlations. These data provide the
basis for the determination of the CKM parameter Vus and a test of the
unitarity of the quark flavor mixing matrix. We also test lepton universality
and place bounds on new physics using measurements of Vus from Kl2 and Kl3
decays.Comment: 23 pages, 12 figures. Submitted to JHE
