    Sequence-dependent histone variant positioning signatures

    Get PDF
Background: Nucleosome, the fundamental unit of chromatin, is formed by wrapping nearly 147bp of DNA around an octamer of histone proteins. This histone core has many variants that are different from each other by their biochemical compositions as well as biological functions. Although the deposition of histone variants onto chromatin has been implicated in many important biological processes, such as transcription and replication, themechanisms of how they are deposited on target sites are still obscure. Results: By analyzing genomic sequences of nucleosomes bearing different histone variants from human, including H2A.Z, H3.3 and both (H3.3/H2A.Z, so-called double variant histones), we found that genomic sequencecontributes in part to determining target sites for different histone variants. Moreover, dinucleotides CA/TG are remarkably important in distinguishing target sites of H2A.Z-only nucleosomes with those of H3.3-containing (both H3.3-only and double variant) nucleosomes. Conclusions: There exists a DNA-related mechanism regulating the deposition of different histone variants onto chromatin and biological outcomes thereof. This provides additional insights into epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of many important cellular processes

This paperĀ presentsĀ someĀ results onĀ the survey of the impact of silica and black carbide on theĀ mechanical ā€“ physical properties and vibration resistance of the rubber blended on natural rubber (NR) and synthetic styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), for application in manufacturing dieselĀ engine mounts.Ā Based on this research, the article also introduces some results in building up anti-vibration rubber and the process of diesel engine mounts manufacture. Development of the method to test the vibration resistance of the dieselĀ engine mounts has initially resulted in some good results such as the natural frequencies are lower than 20 Hz and the damping factor is higher than 10

EFFECT OF Ag NANOPARTICLE ON THE PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF TIO2 NANOTUBES

The TiO2 nanotubes were fabricated by the hydrothermal method. Then, Ag nanoparticles with the varying ratio were attached on the TiO2 nanotubes by photoreduction. The characteristics of structure, morphology, chemical composition and of TiO2 nanotubes modified Ag (Ag-TNTs) was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and the absorption spectral of Methylene blue (MB) solution. The results showed that Ag-TNTs have fairly uniform length with Ag particles immobilized on the tube. The photocatalysis TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) is higher than Ag-TNTs in UV range and lower than Ag-TNTs in the visible light. And the photocatalytic activity of Ag-TNTs with 5 wt.% Ag is highest in the visible range

    Organizational Commitment of Tour Guides

The commitment of employees to the organization receives special attention from managers. This is because when employees are closely attached to the organization, the efficiency of work is improved, enhancing the organizationā€™s innovation and creativity, and aiming for sustainable development. This study was conducted to demonstrate the factors influencing the commitment to the organization of tour guides. Research data was collected from a survey of 305 tour guides working in travel companies in Vietnam. Using quantitative research methods, the study has shown that the organizational commitment of tour guides is influenced by 8 factors, including job nature, work environment, training and promotion, income and benefits, leadership style, relationships with colleagues, rewards and recognition, and empowerment. Among them, empowerment is identified as the most significant factor, with the strongest influence on the organizational commitment of tour guides. Finally, the study has proposed some managerial implications to enhance the commitment to the organization of tour guides

The Impact of Corporate Governance on the Quality of Accounting Information: Research Based on Listed Companies on Vietnam's Stock Exchange

    Get PDF
Purpose: This research aims to evaluate the impact of corporate governance on the quality of accounting information in listed companies on the Vietnamese stock exchange. Ā  Theoretical framework:Ā Corporate governance focuses on the structure of ownership, the characteristics of director and supervisory boards. The quality of accounting information is evaluated under the perspectives of information users and information auditors. Ā  Design/methodology/approach: This research analyzes primary and secondary data from 193 listed companies as of 2021 and uses both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Ā  Findings:Ā The results show that the factors affecting corporate governance that have a proportional impact on the quality of accounting information include: Government ownership, Supervisory Board ownership, major shareholders ownership, number of board members, professional qualifications of the association board of directors, and that have an inverse impact is the duality between the Board of directors and the managing directors, and that have no impact are the number of members in the supervisory Board and professional qualifications of the supervisory board. Ā  Research, Practical & Social implications:Ā From the research results, the authors propose recommendations to improve the quality of accounting information through corporate governance. Ā  Originality/value: The value of the study is pointing out the impact of corporate governance on the quality of accounting information in listed companies on the Vietnamese stock exchange meaningful in creating trust among users to attract investment domestically and internationally

Differentiation-oriented physical education (PE) helps learners participate in learning activities with content and forms suitable to their personal characteristics. Through researching documents, interviews, and pedagogical observations, the project explores the current status of teaching physical education to 7th graders in Thai Nguyen City from the perspective of division in education. The results of this research are an important practical basis to propose measures to organize teaching physical education in a differentiated direction for 7th graders in Thai Nguyen City.Ā  Article visualizations

LG-Hand: Advancing 3D Hand Pose Estimation with Locally and Globally Kinematic Knowledge

3D hand pose estimation from RGB images suffers from the difficulty of obtaining the depth information. Therefore, a great deal of attention has been spent on estimating 3D hand pose from 2D hand joints. In this paper, we leverage the advantage of spatial-temporal Graph Convolutional Neural Networks and propose LG-Hand, a powerful method for 3D hand pose estimation. Our method incorporates both spatial and temporal dependencies into a single process. We argue that kinematic information plays an important role, contributing to the performance of 3D hand pose estimation. We thereby introduce two new objective functions, Angle and Direction loss, to take the hand structure into account. While Angle loss covers locally kinematic information, Direction loss handles globally kinematic one. Our LG-Hand achieves promising results on the First-Person Hand Action Benchmark (FPHAB) dataset. We also perform an ablation study to show the efficacy of the two proposed objective functions

Gender and vulnerable employment in the developing world: Evidence from global microdata

    Get PDF
This paper investigates gender inequality in vulnerable employment: forms of employment typically featuring high precariousness, inadequate earnings, and lack of decent working conditions. Using a large collection of harmonized household surveys from developing countries, we measure long-term trends, describe geographical patterns, and estimate correlates of gender inequalities in vulnerable employment. Conditional on individual and household characteristics, women are 7 percentage points more likely to be in vulnerable employment than men. The experiences of marriage and parenthood are important drivers of this gender gap. Across countries, the gender gap is smaller in richer countries, with lower fertility rates, and more gender-egalitarian laws, particularly those laws regulating marriage, parenthood, access to assets, and access to entrepreneurship. Since the 1990s, rising levels of female education and rapidly falling fertility have pulled women away from vulnerable employment at a faster rate than men. However, that process is largely exhausted, with current levels of the gender gap in vulnerable employment being almost entirely unexplained by standard labour supply factors
