Is Energy Storage an Economic Opportunity for the Eco-Neighborhood?

    Get PDF
International audienceIn this article, we consider houses belonging to an eco-neighborhood in which inhabitants have the capacity to optimize dynamically the energy demand and the energy storage level so as to maximize their utility. The inhabitants' preferences are characterized by their sensitivity toward comfort versus price, the optimal expected temperature in the house, thermal loss and heating efficiency of their house. At his level, the eco-neighborhood manager shares the resource produced by the eco-neighborhood according to two schemes: an equal allocation between the houses and a priority based one. The problem is modeled as a stochastic game and solved using stochastic dynamic programming. We simulate the energy consumption of the eco-neighborhood under various pricing mechanisms: flat rate, peak and off-peak hour, blue/white/red day, peak day clearing and a dynamic update of the price based on the consumption of the eco-neighborhood. We observe that economic incentives for houses to store energy depend deeply on the implemented pricing mechanism and on the homogeneity in the houses' characteristics. Furthermore, when prices are based on the consumption of the eco-neighborhood, storage appears as a compensation for the errors made by the service provider in the prediction of the consumption of the eco-neighborhood

Advancement in the understanding of multifragmentation and phase transition for hot nuclei

    Get PDF
Recent advancement on the knowledge of multifragmentation and phase transition for hot nuclei is reported. It concerns i) the influence of radial collective energy on fragment partitions and the derivation of general properties of partitions in presence of such a collective energy, ii) a better knowledge of freeze-out properties obtained by means of a simulation based on all the available experimental information and iii) the quantitative study of the bimodal behaviour of the heaviest fragment charge distribution for fragmenting hot heavy quasi-projectiles which allows, for the first time, to estimate the latent heat of the phase transition.Comment: 9 pages, Proceedings of IWM09, November 4-7, Catania (Italy

A structured annotation frame for the transposable phages: A new proposed family “Saltoviridae” within the Caudovirales

AbstractEnterobacteriophage Mu is the best studied and paradigm member of the transposable phages. Mu-encoded proteins have been annotated in detail in UniProtKB and linked to a controlled vocabulary describing the various steps involved in the phage lytic and lysogenic cycles.Transposable phages are ubiquitous temperate bacterial viruses with a dsDNA linear genome. Twenty-six of them, that infect α, ÎČ and Îł-proteobacteria, have been sequenced. Their conserved properties are described. Based on these characteristics, we propose a reorganization of the Caudovirales, to allow for the inclusion of a “Saltoviridae” family and two newly proposed subfamilies, the “Myosaltovirinae” and “Siphosaltovirinae”. The latter could temporarily be included in the existing Myoviridae and Siphoviridae families

The title compound, octaaqua(hydrogenfluorido)dicopper(II) hexafluoridoferrate(III) dihydrate, was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The Cu atom is coordinated by one F and five O atoms within a highly distorted octahedron, forming dimeric [Cu2(H2O)8HF2]3+ units by edge sharing. These units are hydrogen bonded to [FeF6]3− anions and to an interstitial water molecule. The former feature Fe3+ on a special position (). The dimeric copper units are linked to adjacent dimers by F—H⋯F hydrogen bonds. Additional O—H⋯O and O—H⋯F hydrogen bonds help to consolidate the crystal packing

ContrĂŽle de la morphologie des poudres par l'ajout de fondants : Application Ă  un luminophore

    Get PDF
