The LQR Control Active of Smart Plate Based on the Finite Element Method

    Get PDF
This paper presents a numerical study pertaining to on the active vibration control (AVC) of the 3-D rectangle simply supported plate bonded of the piezoelectric sensor/ actuator pairs. AVC is a large area of interest either in all sections of industry or in research. One way to control the vibration of dynamic systems is by using piezoelectric materials. A finite element method (FEM) analysis is used to model the dynamic behavior of the system. The frequencies of the isotropic pate and a smart structure are verified by the comparison between the analytical calculations and simulation. A LQR controller is designed based on the independent mode space control techniques to stifle the vibration of the system. The change in the sizes of the patches was a clear impact on the control results, and also in the values of the voltage in actuator. The results were established by simulating in ANSYS and MATLAB

Numerical simulation of the flow rate effect on the evolution of a negatively buoyant water jet

A numerical simulation study was done on a penetrating pure water jet injected into another surrounding salt water miscible with negative buoyancy conditions. For the incompressible filtered Navier-Stokes equations and the sum of the fluid model volume, we used a transient Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solver (VOF model). A finite volume discretization method using Open Source code given in Open Foam 2.3.0. was used to solve these equations. The flow has a significant impact in the laminar system on the evolution of the jet in terms of subsequent permanent phase as well as the transient regime

Lipid Components Of Olive Oil From Tadla Azilal Area Of Morocco: Characterization and authenticity

This work was carried out on the characterization of virgin olive oils from the Moroccan picholine, the main variety cultivated in this country. The picholine samples were obtained from five different locations in Tadla Azilal area (Moroccan centre): Ksiba (KS), Bradia (BR), Beni Mellal (BM), Souk Sebt (SS) and Fkih Bensalah (FBS). They were analyzed for their composition in fatty-acids, triglycerides and sterols during the crop years 2010/1011. The sterols profile of Tadla azilal virgin olive oils produced by Moroccan picholine cultivar was established by gas chromatography using a flame ionization detector. More than ten compounds were identified and characterized. As expected for virgin olive oil, the main sterols found in all olive oil zones were ?-sitosterol, ?5-avenasterol, campesterol and stigmasterol. Cholesterol, campestanol, ?7-stigmastenol and ?7-avenasterol were also found in all samples, but in lower amounts. Most of these compounds are significantly affected by the geographical origin. For the fatty acids composition, many of them were detected in the virgin olive oils of the studied zones. Indeed, the five olive oils analyzed have shown a fatty acid composition close to the EEC established limits (EEC, 2003). However, the Variations in linoleic acid contents were observed in olive oil samples of other varieties. Keywords: Tadla azilal area, Virgin Olive Oil, Moroccan Picholine, Sterols, fatty acids
