A bibliometric analysis of community dentistry and oral epidemiology: fifty years of publications
Objectives
In celebration of the journal's 50th anniversary, the aim of the study was to review the whole collection of Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology (CDOE) publications from 1973 to 2022 and provide a complete overview of the main publication characteristics.
Methods
The study used bibliometric techniques such as performance and science mapping analysis of 3428 articles extracted from the Scopus database. The data were analysed using the âBibliometrixâ package in R. The journal's scientific production was examined, along with the yearly citation count, the distribution of publications based on authors, the corresponding author's country and affiliation and citation count, citing source and keywords. Bibliometric network maps were constructed to determine the conceptual, intellectual and social collaborative structure over the past 50âyears. The trending research topics and themes were identified.
Results
The total number of articles and average citations has increased over the years. D Locker, AJ Spencer, A Sheiham and WM Thomson were the most frequently published authors, and PE Petersen, GD Slade and AI Ismail published papers with the highest citations. The most published countries were the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil and Canada, frequently engaging in collaborative efforts. The most common keywords used were âdental cariesâ, âoral epidemiologyâ and âoral healthâ. The trending topics were healthcare and health disparities, social determinants of health, systematic review and health inequalities. Epidemiology, oral health and disparities were highly researched areas.
Conclusion
This bibliometric study reviews CDOE's significant contribution to dental public health by identifying key research trends, themes, influential authors and collaborations. The findings provide insights into the need to increase publications from developing countries, improve gender diversity in authorship and broaden the scope of research themes
Parity violating pion electroproduction off the nucleon
Parity violating (PV) contributions due to interference between and
exchange are calculated for pion electroproduction off the nucleon. A
phenomenological model with effective Lagrangians is used to determine the
resulting asymmetry for the energy region between threshold and
resonance. The resonance is treated as a Rarita-Schwinger field with
phenomenological transition currents. The background contributions
are given by the usual Born terms using the pseudovector Lagrangian.

Gender inequities in dental research publications: findings from 20âyears
Background: The first steps towards gender equity in science are measuring the magnitude of inequity and increasing awareness of the problem. Objectives: To describe trends in gender disparities in first and last authorship in the most cited dental publications and general dental literature over a 20-year period. Methods: Articles and bibliometric data were retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 1996 to 2015. Two groups of 1000 articles each were retrieved: a random sample and another sample of top-cited articles for each year. The gender of the first and last author of each publication was manually identified. When this was not possible, we used an online software platform (https://genderize.io/). Descriptive analyses identified the proportion of women first and last authors in both samples, stratifying by dental discipline and geographic region. Trends were ascertained by frequency metrics across years. Gender disparity was observed in both first and last authorship, with a larger gap being observed in the top-cited sample. Results: Women led 28.4% and 20.3% of articles in the random and top-cited samples, respectively. A similar pattern was observed for the last authorship group (22.1% and 16.1%, respectively). An increasing trend in the proportion of articles led by women over time was observed in both samples. This increase was larger in the top-cited sample (from 15.0% in 1996â2000 to 25.1% in 2015) than in the random sample (from 26.3% in 1996â2000 to 33.2% in 2011). Conclusions: Clear gender disparities in dental research publications in the last 20 years were identified in both general and top-cited manuscripts, across dental disciplines, across countries, across first and last authorship, and over time. It is paramount that actions are taken to attract, retain and promote women in science, as well as to monitor and ensure progress towards gender equity
Aspects of Nucleon Compton Scattering
We consider the spin-averaged nucleon forward Compton scattering amplitude in
heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory including all terms to order . The chiral prediction for the spin-averaged forward Compton scattering
amplitude is in good agreement with the data for photon energies MeV. We also evaluate the nucleon electric and magnetic Compton
polarizabilities to this order and discuss the uncertainties of the various

Standard Model baryogenesis through four-fermion operators in braneworlds
We study a new baryogenesis scenario in a class of braneworld models with low
fundamental scale, which typically have difficulty with baryogenesis. The
scenario is characterized by its minimal nature: the field content is that of
the Standard Model and all interactions consistent with the gauge symmetry are
admitted. Baryon number is violated via a dimension-6 proton decay operator,
suppressed today by the mechanism of quark-lepton separation in extra
dimensions; we assume that this operator was unsuppressed in the early Universe
due to a time-dependent quark-lepton separation. The source of CP violation is
the CKM matrix, in combination with the dimension-6 operators. We find that
almost independently of cosmology, sufficient baryogenesis is nearly impossible
in such a scenario if the fundamental scale is above 100 TeV, as required by an
unsuppressed neutron-antineutron oscillation operator. The only exception
producing sufficient baryon asymmetry is a scenario involving

Effective Lagrangian Approach to the Theory of Eta Photoproduction in the Region
We investigate eta photoproduction in the resonance region
within the effective Lagrangian approach (ELA), wherein leading contributions
to the amplitude at the tree level are taken into account. These include the
nucleon Born terms and the leading -channel vector meson exchanges as the
non-resonant pieces. In addition, we consider five resonance contributions in
the - and - channel; besides the dominant , these are:
and . The amplitudes for the
and the photoproduction near threshold have significant
differences, even as they share common contributions, such as those of the
nucleon Born terms. Among these differences, the contribution to the
photoproduction of the -channel excitation of the is the most
significant. We find the off-shell properties of the spin-3/2 resonances to be
important in determining the background contributions. Fitting our effective
amplitude to the available data base allows us to extract the quantity
, characteristic of the
photoexcitation of the resonance and its decay into the
-nucleon channel, of interest to precise tests of hadron models. At the
photon point, we determine it to be from
the old data base, and from a
combination of old data base and new Bates data. We obtain the helicity
amplitude for to be from the old data base, and from the combination of the old data base and new Bates
data, compared with the results of the analysis of pion photoproduction

Vector meson production and nucleon resonance analysis in a coupled-channel approach for energies m_N < sqrt(s) < 2 GeV I: pion-induced results and hadronic parameters
We present a nucleon resonance analysis by simultaneously considering all
pion- and photon-induced experimental data on the final states gamma N, pi N, 2
pi N, eta N, K Lambda, K Sigma, and omega N for energies from the nucleon mass
up to sqrt(s) = 2 GeV. In this analysis we find strong evidence for the
resonances P_{31}(1750), P_{13}(1900), P_{33}(1920), and D_{13}(1950). The
omega N production mechanism is dominated by large P_{11}(1710) and
P_{13}(1900) contributions. In this first part, we present the results of the
pion-induced reactions and the extracted resonance and background properties

Proton-proton bremsstrahlung below and above pion-threshold: the influence of the -isobar
The proton-proton bremsstrahlung is investigated within a coupled-channel
model with the degree of freedom. The model is consistent with the
scattering up to 1 GeV and the vertex determined in the
study of pion photoproduction reactions. It is found that the
excitation can significantly improve the agreements with the at MeV. Predictions at and MeV are

Slepton and Neutralino/Chargino Coannihilations in MSSM
Within the low-energy effective Minimal Supersymmetric extension of Standard
Model (effMSSM) we calculated the neutralino relic density taking into account
slepton-neutralino and neutralino-chargino/neutralino coannihilation channels.
We performed comparative study of these channels and obtained that both of them
give sizable contributions to the reduction of the relic density. Due to these
coannihilation processes some models (mostly with large neutralino masses)
enter into the cosmologically interesting region for relic density, but other
models leave this region. Nevertheless, in general, the predictions for direct
and indirect dark matter detection rates are not strongly affected by these
coannihilation channels in the effMSSM.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures, revte
Reaction and Axial Vector Coupling
The reaction is studied in the region of low
to investigate the effect of deuteron structure and width of the
resonance on the differential cross section. The results are used to extract
the axial vector coupling from the experimental data on
this reaction. The possibility to determine this coupling from electroweak
