Some new directions in infinite-combinatorial topology
We give a light introduction to selection principles in topology, a young
subfield of infinite-combinatorial topology. Emphasis is put on the modern
approach to the problems it deals with. Recent results are described, and open
problems are stated. Some results which do not appear elsewhere are also

The combinatorics of the Baer-Specker group
Denote the integers by Z and the positive integers by N.
The groups Z^k (k a natural number) are discrete, and the classification up
to isomorphism of their (topological) subgroups is trivial. But already for the
countably infinite power Z^N of Z, the situation is different. Here the product
topology is nontrivial, and the subgroups of Z^N make a rich source of examples
of non-isomorphic topological groups. Z^N is the Baer-Specker group.
We study subgroups of the Baer-Specker group which possess group theoretic
properties analogous to properties introduced by Menger (1924), Hurewicz
(1925), Rothberger (1938), and Scheepers (1996). The studied properties were
introduced independently by Ko\v{c}inac and Okunev. We obtain purely
combinatorial characterizations of these properties, and combine them with
other techniques to solve several questions of Babinkostova, Ko\v{c}inac, and

Development and Implementation of an Autonomy Supportive Training Program among Youth Sport Coaches
Studying perceived autonomy support, a basic tenet of self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000), provides some understanding as to how coaches can more positively influence youth athletes to enjoy and persist in youth sport. Borrowing insights from success in physical education and coaching-oriented interventions, the purpose of this paper was to highlight positive aspects and challenges of an innovative youth sport autonomy supportive training program for coaches. Positives included the initial training session and the use of an online training component. Challenges were the structure of the season, other coaches, and possibly the age of the athletes. Future training programs in youth sport coaching should increase in duration, provide specific examples of how to implement autonomy supportive coaching behaviors, as well as address solutions to the time constraints of the youth sport setting
Evaluation of an exercise programme for post-bariatric surgery patients: views of participants
Objective: Exercise programmes typically are evaluated with fitness assessments and psychological survey measures but seldom include participants\u27 insights. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the benefits, facilitators and barriers of a 12âweek exercise programme for postâbariatric surgery patients from the participants\u27 perspective.
Method: Over a 2âyear period, 20 patients recently having undergone bariatric surgery completed a 12âweek programme that included participation in structured exercise and in focus groups designed to supplement standard evaluation data and provide insight into participants\u27 views.
Results: Participants were highly adherent to the programme, and focus group results reflected a clear positive evaluations. Benefits included helpful information, developing commitment, physical fitness and social support; notably, weight was seldom mentioned. Participants cited structure, accountability and group support as facilitators of exercise. Participants cited few barriers, although very few had set plans for continuing exercise after programme completion.
Conclusion: Participants saw many benefits to the exercise programme, and those benefits reflected lifestyle changes rather than a focus on weight. Programme structure, accountability and the support of the group were facilitators to exercise. Participants cited few barriers. However, the lack of plans for continued exercise suggested the need for a transition phase to help participants continue an active lifestyle after the 12âweek structured programme
