State-Level Wage AGI Gap for tax years 2000-2002
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), under contract with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Research, undertook an update of BEA’s state-level wage reconciliation for 2000 between BEA wages and salaries and IRS wages and salaries in Adjusted Gross Income. The initial reconciliation for the year 2000 was documented in the BEA Working Paper, The Feasibility of Producing Personal Income to Adjusted Gross Income (PI-AGI) Reconciliations by State. This study updates state estimates of the reconciliation of BEA and IRS wages and salaries for 2001 and 2002.
Photometry of the comet 2060 Chiron
The comet 2060 Chiron has proven to be an interesting and enigmatic object. Situated between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, it was originally classified as the most distant asteroid. It began to show cometary behavior in 1987 by increasing a full magnitude in brightness and developing a coma; there is evidence also for similar earlier outbursts. A thorough study of Chiron is important for two reasons: (1) it is a transition object defining the relationship between comets, asteroids, and meteorites; and (2) a full description of its changes in brightness - particularly on time scale of hours - will provide an empirical foundation for understanding the physical mechanisms (including outgassing, sublimation of volatiles, and even significant mass ejections) driving the evolution of comets. Short term outbursts were observed in early 1989, and a rapid decrease in brightness of Chiron's coma was observed in 1990 in the V and R filters. Also, a rotational lightcurve was detected of the nucleus with an amplitude only 1/4 that observed in its quiescent state: this fact indicates the increased importance of the optically thin coma to the observed brightness
Ion-Cyclotron Double Resonance
A charged particle in a uniform moving magnetic field H describes a circular orbit in a plance perpendicular to H with an angular frequency or "cyclotron frequency" omagae. When an alternating electric field E(t) is applied normal to H at omegae, the ions absorb energy from the alternating electric field, and are accelerated to larger velocities and orbital radii. [1] The absorption of energy from E(t) at the cyclotron resonance frequency can be conveniently detected using a marginal oscillator detector. When the ions accelerated by E(t) collide with other particles, they lose some of their excess energy. A mixture of ions and neutral molecules in the presence of H and E(t) then reaches a steady-state condition in which the energy gained by the ions from E(t) between collisions is lost to the neutral molecules in collisions
One-Loop Self-Dual and N=4 Super Yang-Mills
We conjecture a simple relationship between the one-loop maximally helicity
violating gluon amplitudes of ordinary QCD (all helicities identical) and those
of N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills (all but two helicities identical). Because
the amplitudes in self-dual Yang Mills have been shown to be the same as the
maximally helicity violating ones in QCD, this conjecture implies that they are
also related to the maximally helicity violating ones of N=4 supersymmetric
Yang-Mills. We have an explicit proof of the relation up to the six-point
amplitude; for amplitudes with more external legs, it remains a conjecture. A
similar conjecture relates amplitudes in self-dual gravity to maximally

EFFICIENT ANALYTIC COMPUTATION OF HIGHER-ORDER QCD AMPLITUDES
We review techniques simplifying the analytic calculation of one-loop QCD
amplitudes with many external legs, for use in next-to-leading-order
corrections to multi-jet processes. Particularly useful are the constraints
imposed by perturbative unitarity, collinear singularities and a
supersymmetry-inspired organization of helicity amplitudes. Certain sequences
of one-loop helicity amplitudes with an arbitrary number of external gluons

Panel summary of recommendations
The following Space Station internal contamination topics were addressed: past flight experience (Skylab and Spacelab missions); present flight activities (Spacelabs and Soviet Space Station Mir); future activities (materials science and life science experiments); Space Station capabilities (PPMS, FMS, ECLSS, and U.S. Laboratory overview); manned systems/crew safety; internal contamination detection; contamination control - stowage and handling; and contamination control - waste gas processing. Space Station design assumptions are discussed. Issues and concerns are discussed as they relate to (1) policy and management, (2) subsystem design, (3) experiment design, and (4) internal contamination detection and control. The recommendations generated are summarized
Observation of enhanced transmission for s-polarized light through a subwavelength slit
Enhanced optical transmission (EOT) through subwavelength apertures is
usually obtained for p-polarized light. The present study experimentally
investigates EOT for s-polarized light. A subwavelength slit surrounded on each
side by periodic grooves has been fabricated in a gold film and covered by a
thin dielectric layer. The excitation of s-polarized dielectric waveguide modes
inside the dielectric film strongly increases the s-polarized transmission.
Transmission measurements are compared with a coupled mode model and show good
qualitative agreement. Adding a waveguide can improve light transmission
through subwavelength apertures, as both s and p-polarization can be

Gossip on Weighted Networks
We investigate how suitable a weighted network is for gossip spreading. The
proposed model is based on the gossip spreading model introduced by Lind et.al.
on unweighted networks. Weight represents "friendship." Potential spreader
prefers not to spread if the victim of gossip is a "close friend". Gossip
spreading is related to the triangles and cascades of triangles. It gives more
insight about the structure of a network.
We analyze gossip spreading on real weighted networks of human interactions.
6 co-occurrence and 7 social pattern networks are investigated. Gossip
propagation is found to be a good parameter to distinguish co-occurrence and
social pattern networks. As a comparison some miscellaneous networks and
computer generated networks based on ER, BA, WS models are also investigated.
