Development of an Integrated Evaluation System for a Stretchable Strain Sensor
Recently, much research has been focused on stretchable or flexible electronic sensors for the measurement of strain or deformation on movable and variably shaped objects. In this research, to evaluate the performance of stretchable strain sensors, we have designed an integrated evaluation system capable of simultaneously measuring the change in stress and conductance of a strain sensor. Using the designed system, we have successfully evaluated the deformation characteristics, sensing range and sensing sensitivity of a stretchable strain sensor. Chondrosarcoma: With Updates on Molecular Genetics
Chondrosarcoma (CHS) is a malignant cartilage-forming tumor and usually occurs within the medullary canal of long bones and pelvic bones. Based on the morphologic feature alone, a correct diangosis of CHS may be difficult, Therefore, correlation of radiological and clinicopathological features is mandatory in the diagnosis of CHS. The prognosis of CHS is closely related to histologic grading, however, histologic grading may be subjective with high inter-observer variability. In this paper, we present histologic grading system and clinicopathological and radiological findings of conventional CHS. Subtypes of CHSs, such as dedifferentiated, mesenchymal, and clear cell CHSs are also presented. In addition, we introduce updated cytogenetic and molecular genetic findings to expand our understanding of CHS biology. New markers of cell differentiation, proliferation, and cell signaling might offer important therapeutic and prognostic information in near future
The Eruption from a Sigmoidal Solar Active Region on 2005 May 13
This paper presents a multiwavelength study of the M8.0 flare and its
associated fast halo CME that originated from a bipolar active region NOAA
10759 on 2005 May 13. The source active region has a conspicuous sigmoid
structure at TRACE 171 A channel as well as in the SXI soft X-ray images, and
we mainly concern ourselves with the detailed process of the sigmoid eruption
as evidenced by the multiwavelength data ranging from Halpha, WL, EUV/UV,
radio, and hard X-rays (HXRs). The most important finding is that the flare
brightening starts in the core of the active region earlier than that of the
rising motion of the flux rope. This timing clearly addresses one of the main
issues in the magnetic eruption onset of sigmoid, namely, whether the eruption
is initiated by an internal tether-cutting to allow the flux rope to rise
upward or a flux rope rises due to a loss of equilibrium to later induce tether
cutting below it. Our high time cadence SXI and Halpha data shows that the
first scenario is relevant to this eruption. As other major findings, we have
the RHESSI HXR images showing a change of the HXR source from a confined
footpoint structure to an elongated ribbon-like structure after the flare
maximum, which we relate to the sigmoid-to-arcade evolution. Radio dynamic
spectrum shows a type II precursor that occurred at the time of expansion of
the sigmoid and a drifting pulsating structure in the flare rising phase in
HXR. Finally type II and III bursts are seen at the time of maximum HXR
emission, simultaneous with the maximum reconnection rate derived from the
flare ribbon motion in UV. We interpret these various observed properties with

Abelian Chern-Simons field theory and anyon equation on a torus
We quantize the abelian Chern-Simons theory coupled to non-relativistic
matter field on a torus without invoking the flux quantization. Through a
series of canonical transformations which is equivalent to solving the Gauss
constraint, we obtain an effective hamiltonian density with periodic matter
field. We also obtain the many-anyon Schr\"odinger equation with periodic
Aharonov-Bohm potentials and analyze the periodic property of the wavefunction.
Some comments are given on the different features of our approach from the

Trolling in asynchronous computer-mediated communication: From user discussions to academic definitions
Whilst computer-mediated communication (CMC) can benefit users by providing quick and easy communication between those separated by time and space, it can also provide varying degrees of anonymity that may encourage a sense of impunity and freedom from being held accountable for
inappropriate online behaviour. As such, CMC is a fertile ground for studying impoliteness, whether it occurs in response to perceived threat (flaming), or as an end in its own right (trolling). Currently, first and secondorder
definitions of terms such as im/politeness (Brown and Levinson 1987; Bousfield 2008; Culpeper 2008; Terkourafi 2008), in-civility (Lakoff 2005), rudeness (Beebe 1995, Kienpointner 1997, 2008), and etiquette (Coulmas 1992), are subject to much discussion and debate, yet the CMC
phenomenon of trolling is not adequately captured by any of these terms. Following Bousfield (in press), Culpeper (2010) and others, this paper suggests that a definition of trolling should be informed first and foremost
by user discussions. Taking examples from a 172-million-word, asynchronous CMC corpus, four interrelated conditions of aggression, deception, disruption, and success are discussed. Finally, a working definition of trolling

The forb-flex method for odd coloring and proper conflict-free coloring of planar graphs
We introduce a new tool useful for greedy coloring, which we call the
forb-flex method, and apply it to odd coloring and proper conflict-free
coloring of planar graphs. The odd chromatic number, denoted
, is the smallest number of colors needed to properly
color such that every non-isolated vertex of has a color appearing an
odd number of times in its neighborhood. The proper conflict-free chromatic
number, denoted , is the smallest number of colors
needed to properly color such that every non-isolated vertex of has a
color appearing uniquely in its neighborhood. Our new tool works by carefully
counting the structures in the neighborhood of a vertex and determining if a
neighbor of a vertex can be recolored at the end of a greedy coloring process
to avoid conflicts. Combining this with the discharging method allows us to
prove for planar graphs of girth at least 11,
and for planar graphs of girth at least 10. These

Deformed Algebras from Inverse Schwinger Method
We consider a problem which may be viewed as an inverse one to the Schwinger
realization of Lie algebra, and suggest a procedure of deforming the
so-obtained algebra. We illustrate the method through a few simple examples
extending Schwinger's construction. As results, various q-deformed
algebras are (re-)produced as well as their undeformed counterparts. Some

Crystals springing into action : metal–organic framework CUK-1 as a pressure-driven molecular spring
Mercury porosimetry and in situ high pressure single crystal X-ray diffraction revealed the wine-rack CUK-1 MOF as a unique crystalline material capable of a fully reversible mechanical pressure-triggered structural contraction. The near-absence of hysteresis upon cycling exhibited by this robust MOF, akin to an ideal molecular spring, is associated with a constant work energy storage capacity of 40 J g(-1). Molecular simulations were further deployed to uncover the free-energy landscape behind this unprecedented pressure-responsive phenomenon in the area of compliant hybrid porous materials. Safety and Toxicity of Catheter Gene Delivery to the Pulmonary Vasculature in a Patient with Metastatic Melanoma
Overview summary Transcatheter delivery of HLA-B7 DNA and cationic liposomes into a segment of a pulmonary artery was safely performed in 1 patient with tumor nodules in the lung. No immunologic or organ toxicities were observed. Percutaneous catheter gene delivery has been performed in humans.
