Investigating Job Mismatch in Software Industry through News Big Data
The purpose of this study is to identify issues related to software manpower, which became more important in the era of the Fourth
Industrial Revolution in Korea. The results of this study can provide guidelines for those who establish software manpower training policies for solving the software industryās human resource paradox. As for the research method, the quantitative text network and qualitative analyses from industry experts were used to interpret the results. A total of 14,752 news data mentioning software manpower were extracted, and data pre-processing for the synonyms and negative words were performed. The network was non-directional and consisted of 14,074 words (nodes) and 1,542,383 word combinations (edges). In addition, the network was clustered based on Modularity, and the degree of connection and eigenvector centrality were used to determine the importance of nodes. The analysis of the results showed that the governmentās efforts through the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT were vital in creating jobs that fueled software innovation growth, and that software education was actively promoted to develop software talent. This study had the following implications. It was confirmed that software is making a high contribution to the expansion of business opportunities and job creation in the fields of new technology and software convergence technology. To resolve the software manpower supply-demand mismatch, it is necessary to cultivate high-quality software talent and provide mid- to long-term activities to attract competent human resources. In addition, it is necessary to develop and expand programs that link education and recruitment in terms of public-private cooperation along with government-led investment to strengthen national software competitiveness
Rationale of decreasing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol below 70 mg/dL in patients with coronary artery disease: A retrospective virtual histology-intravascular ultrasound study
Background: The associations between statin and coronary plaque compositional changes were reĀported according to the use of high dose or not. An evaluation of the impact of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) < 70 mg/dL by using real world dosages of statin on coronary plaque composition was undertaken.
Methods: The study subjects consisted of 61 patients (mean 59.9 years old, 45 males) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention, baseline and follow-up (F/U; mean 8.4 months) virtual histology- -intravascular ultrasound (VH-IVUS) examination. Change of plaque composition at peri-stent area, which was selected in order to measure the identical site at F/U study, was compared according to the F/U LDL-C level.
Results: Body mass index, prevalence of dyslipidemia, baseline total cholesterol and baseline LDL-C were significantly lower in F/U LDL-C < 70 mg/dL group (14 segments in 10 patients) than F/U LDL-C ā„ 70 mg/dL group (79 segments in 51 patients). F/U high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C, OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.00ā1.11, p = 0.054) and F/U LDL-C < 70 mg/dL (OR 3.43, 95% CI 0.97ā12.17, p = 0.056) showed strong tendency of regression of necrotic core volume (NCV) ā„ 10%. In multivariable logisĀtic regression analysis, F/U HDL-C (OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.01ā1.14, p = 0.020) and F/U LDL-C < 70 mg/dL (OR 8.02, 95% CI 1.58ā40.68, p = 0.012) were the independent factors for regression of NCV ā„ 10%.
Conclusions: Follow-up LDL-C level < 70 mg/dL with any types of statins and increase of HDL-C were associated with regression of NCV ā„ 10% in patients with coronary artery disease
A Case of More Abundant and Dysplastic Adenomas in the Interposed Colon than in the Native Colon
We report a 60-year-old woman with intramucosal adenocarcinoma arising in the interposed colon, 40 years after the esophageal reconstruction for lye induced esophageal stricture. Although synchronous adenomas were also found in the native colon where the graft was taken, the number of adenomas was greater in the interposed colon and more dysplastic, even progressed to adenocarcinoma, than that of the native colon. The microsatellite instability-testing performed in the intramucosal carcinoma from interposed colon showed absence of microsatellite instability. Changing of location and functional deman]d of colonic segment, and the exposure to different intraluminal contents might have facilitated the adenomacarcinoma transformation in the interposed colon
Acute perimyocarditis mimicking acute myocardial infarction in a 12-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Differential diagnosis of chest pain in the pediatric population is important but can be challenging. A 12-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy presented with chest pain, cardiac enzyme elevation, and convex ST elevations in the inferior leads with reciprocal ST depression in the anterior leads on electrocardiogram. Echocardiography on admission revealed normal left ventricular function. Suspecting acute myocardial infarction, we performed invasive coronary angiography, which revealed normal coronary arteries. A follow-up electrocardiogram showed an acute pericarditis pattern with concave ST elevations in most leads and PR depression, and follow-up echocardiography revealed global left ventricular dysfunction, suggestive of acute perimyocarditis. Ibuprofen was administered for acute pericarditis, and a continuous milrinone infusion was commenced for myocardial dysfunction. The chest pain improved by the next day, and the ST segment elevations normalized on day 4. Echocardiography on day 9 revealed improved left ventricular function. The patient was discharged on day 11, and he is doing well without chest pain through 12 months of follow-up. The last electrocardiogram showed normal sinus rhythm without ST change. Differential diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and acute perimyocarditis is important for proper treatment strategies and the different prognoses of these two conditions
A New Onset of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Developed After Bee Venom Therapy
Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease of an unknown origin, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can be triggered by numerous stimuli. Bee venom therapy is an alternative therapy that is believed to be effective for various kinds of arthritis. We present here a case of a 49-year-old female who experienced a new onset lupus after undergoing bee venom therapy, and this looked like a case of angioedema. The patient was successfully treated with high dose steroids and antimalarial drugs. We discuss the possibility of bee venom contributing to the development of SLE, and we suggest that such treatment should be avoided in patients with lupus
