JAZZ CHANTS FOR YOUNG LEARNERS (A Case Study in TK Bina Insani Semarang)
Children are thinkers and active learners who construct knowledge and information through active
interaction with the surroundings in various stages of development. Through simple songs and poems, children
can learn and have experience a language, especially a foreign language (English). Jazz Chants is one of them.
Jazz chants is a learning method of English language for a child that was introduced by a jazz artist who is also
an English teacher in New York. In contrast to common nursery rhymes which usually used as media to teach
English for young learners, jazz chants have a combination of simple musicality and vocabulary or expression so
it is easier to understand and play. This study will focus on the effectiveness of teaching English through jazz
chants for young learners.

A Study on Moral Values Represented in Shawshank Redemption Movie
This research analyzed Shawshank Redemption movie, a movie by Frank Darabont. This movie told about the struggling of Andy Dufresne who was accused of the murder of his wife and her affair. This research focused on moral value of the movie. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative method. This study aims to found the moral values of Shawshank Redemption movie. Documentation method was used to collect the data and descriptive analysis technique to analyze the data. The results of this study are the moral values found in the Shawshank Redemption movie; honestly, hard work, unconditional love and kindness, compassion, and co-operation. Then hard work as the most dominant moral value appears in the Shawshank Redemption movie, because this moral value often occurs in this movie.
Improving Students' Reading Comprehension of Descriptive Text by Using Picture and Picture Technique at Junior High School
This study aims to improve students’ reading skills using Picture and Picture Technique. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two classes of pre-test and post-test designs as the research design. The sample consisted of 23 VIII A students and 23 VIII B students from SMP Negeri 2 Tlogowungu in the academic year 2022/2023. The students were divided into two groups: experimental and control. A t-test was used to analyze the collected data. The analysis found that t-test had a greater value that the t table (t count = 10.017, t table = 2.074 at the level significant 5%). The reading skills of both groups has improved, yet there is a significant difference between the two. The average post-test learning result of the experimental class is 79.65, while the average control class is 61.39. As a result, it is possible to conclude that using the Picture and Picture Technique can improve students’ reading skills
Social Inequality in the Movie Fantastic Mr. Fox
This research examined social inequality and the resulting conflicts in the movie "Fantastic Mr. Fox." The objectives were to identify and analyze the portrayal of social inequality within the film using Max Weber’s theory of social stratification. Using descriptive qualitative method, the study involved detailed analysis of the movie script to uncover these themes. The findings revealed that the farmers, representing the upper class, oppress the animal community, which symbolizes the lower class. This dynamic led to various conflicts, highlighting the struggles and resistance of the underprivileged against the powerful. Film analysis demonstrated how animated films can reflect real-world social hierarchies. In conclusion, the research provided a deeper understanding of the use of popular media to comment on societal issues and emphasizes the importance of empathy and collective action to address inequality. This study contributes to the field by showcasing the potential of animated films as tools for social commentary and education. This study highlights the capacity of animated films to serve as effective mediums for social critique, urging viewers to recognize and challenge societal inequalities. Slang Words used in Olivia Rodrigo Song Lyrics in the Album of Sour
This final project is based on the study which attempted to analyze the slang word used in song lyrics by Olivia Rodrigo. The song’s album is called Sour. There were eleven songs in the album but the researcher takes only seven among of them. The songs are Brutal, Traitor, Driver License, Good 4 U, Happier, Jealousy-jealousy, and Hope Ur Ok. The main purpose of this study is were to analyze the types of slang words found in the song lyrics, the meaning of the slang words found in song lyrics, and the dominant slang words found in song lyrics. This research is descriptive-qualitative analysis which analyzed the slang word used in the song lyrics usin Allan and Burridge’s theory (2006). The result of the study was there were 48 data of slag words found in the song lyrics. Those slang words was classified into 4 types of slang words. The types were fresh and creative (41.6%), flippant (27.3%), imitative (12.5%), and clipping (18.5%). From these result it can be concluded that the dominant type of slang word is fresh and creatve

Public speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners. Speaking in front of audience is not an easy task. It needs a good speaking skill. Fear and nervousness become major problem, especially for beginners who have not experienced in public speaking. This also occurs in members of the Muslim Youth Forum Gayamsari (Foksari). Their speaking competence is inadequate. That is why Public Speaking training activity is held. It is expexted to improve their skills. This activity is performed in two stages, namely the delivery of content and practice. Based on the evaluation, the results obtained are very significant. The existence of enthusiastic participants indicates that they are very interested. Besides, there is a seriousness of the participants who attend a series of events organized by the team from beginning to end

Anak-anak pemikir dan pelajar yang aktif membangun pengetahuan dan informasi melalui interaksi aktif dengan lingkungan dalam berbagai tahap pembangunan. Melalui lagu-lagu sederhana dan puisi, anak-anak dapat belajar dan memiliki pengalaman bahasa, terutama bahasa asing Inggris. Jazz Chants adalah salah satu dari mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Data-data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan angket terhadap guru PAUD TK Bina Insani. Selanjutnya, dilakukan triangulasi terhadap data-data hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh. Dengan demikian, data hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dan dideskripsikan akurat/valid. Dengan menggunakan strategi jazz chant, sangat membantu para siswa untuk lebih antusias dalam belajaar bahasa Inggris. Jazz chants membuat siswa TK bisa menghafal materi berbahasa Inggris dengan mudah. Translation Analysis of Cultural Terms Found in the Novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari and The Dancer by Rene T.A Lysloff and its Contribution to Cross Cultural Understanding Teaching
The objectives of the study are (1) To categorize the cultural terms found in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Parukinto The Dancer(2) To describe the techniques implemented in the translation of cultural terms in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Parukinto The Dancer (3) To find out the contribution of novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk and The Dancer to Cross Cultural Understanding teaching.This is a descriptive research with qualitative analysis. The writer used following steps: (a) the writer read the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari and its translation The Dancer by Rene T.A. Lysloff, (b) the writer search the cultural terms in the novel, (c) the writer analyzed the cultural terms found in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk and its translation The Dancer, (d) the writer analyzed the technique of translation, (e) the writer analyzed both of the novel to find out the possible contribution to Cross Cultural Understanding teaching. The result of this research are (1) Categories cultural terms found in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk and The Dancer. There are four categories of cultural terms related to Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk and The Dancer. Those are material culture, social culture, activities and procedures, and then gestures and habits. (2) technique implemneted in the translation of cultural terms in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk into The Dancer. In translation the novel, the translator applied borrowing technique i.e without any change the word of culture. (3) contribution of the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk and The Dancer to Cross Cultural Understanding teaching. The contribution of translation analysis of cultural terms in the novel is giving information and developing the student’s knowledge. It also can be the new media of Cross Cultural Understanding teaching.
