A novel approach for Software Clone detection using Data Mining in Software

    Get PDF
The Similar Program structures which recur in variant forms in software systems are code clones. Many techniques are proposed in order to detect similar code fragments in software. The software maintenance is generally helped by maintenance is generally helped by the identification and subsequent unification. When the patterns of simple clones reoccur, it is an indication for the presence of interesting higher-level similarities. They are called as Structural Clones. The structural clones when compared to simple clones show a bigger picture of similarities. The problem of huge number of clones is alleviated by the structural clones, which are part of logical groups of simple clones. In order to understand the design of the system for better maintenance and reengineering for reuse, detection of structural clones is essential. In this paper, a technique which is useful to detect some useful types of structural clones is proposed. The novelty of the present approach comprises the formulation of the structural clone concept and the application of data mining techniques. A novel approach is useful for implementation of the proposed technique is described

Environment-induced corrections to the spin Hamiltonian as dynamic frequency shifts in nuclear magnetic resonance

We derive an expression for the correction to the spin-system Hamiltonian that arises due to the system-bath interaction, starting both from the standard master equation for the spin density matrix and a perturbative diagonalization of the system-bath Hamiltonian to the second order in the interaction. We show that the dynamic frequency shifts observed in the evolution of the nuclear spin coherences are a result of these Hamiltonian corrections. We present a systematic decomposition of the relaxation superoperator into Hermitian and anti-Hermitian parts as opposed to the usual practice of partitioning it into real and imaginary parts. We point out that the relaxation-induced corrections to the coherent motion arise exclusively from the anti-Hermitian part and the dissipative effects, from the Hermitian part, both, in general, being complex. However, the secular terms of this correction are found to depend only on the imaginary and the real parts, respectively

Gamma Radiation Induced Effects in TeO2 Thin Films

Gamma radiation induced effects on electrical and optical properties of thin films of tellurium dioxide (TeO2), a wide band gap semiconductor material, of different thicknesses prepared by thermal evaporation method have been studied in detail. The current-voltage characteristics for the thin films before and after gamma irradiation were analysed to obtain normalised current versus gamma dose plots at different applied voltages. The plots obtained clearly show that the normalised current increases almost linearly with the radiation dose up to certain limit and this limit is found to be dependent on thickness of the thin film. Beyond this limit the current is found to decrease. For gamma sources emitting higher gamma energy, this linear behaviour extends to higher radiation doses. The optical characterization of the as-deposited thin films as well as gamma irradiated thin films clearly shows that the optical band gap decreases with increase in the gamma radiation dose up to a certain limit. However, the optical band gap has been found to increase beyond this limit. The observed changes in electrical and optical properties clearly indicate the possibility of using TeO2 thin film as a gamma radiation dosimeter. Electron-photon scattering mediated by localized plasmons: A quantitative analysis by eigen-response theory

    Get PDF
We show that the scattering interaction between a high energy electron and a photon can be strongly enhanced by different types of localized plasmons in a non-trivial way. The scattering interaction is predicted by an eigen-response theory, numerically verified by finite-difference-time-domain simulation, and experimentally verified by cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. We find that the scattering interaction associated with dark plasmons can be as strong as that of bright plasmons. Such a strong interaction may offer new opportunities to improve single-plasmon detection and high-resolution characterization techniques for high quality plasmonic materials.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures (excluding Supporting Information

An extensive research survey on data integrity and deduplication towards privacy in cloud storage

    Get PDF
Owing to the highly distributed nature of the cloud storage system, it is one of the challenging tasks to incorporate a higher degree of security towards the vulnerable data. Apart from various security concerns, data privacy is still one of the unsolved problems in this regards. The prime reason is that existing approaches of data privacy doesn't offer data integrity and secure data deduplication process at the same time, which is highly essential to ensure a higher degree of resistance against all form of dynamic threats over cloud and internet systems. Therefore, data integrity, as well as data deduplication is such associated phenomena which influence data privacy. Therefore, this manuscript discusses the explicit research contribution toward data integrity, data privacy, and data deduplication. The manuscript also contributes towards highlighting the potential open research issues followed by a discussion of the possible future direction of work towards addressing the existing problems
