Problemer ved at oversætte Bibelen til dansk på ny

    Get PDF
In November 1989 the last issues of a trial translation to a forthcoming authorized Danish Bible version were released. The author, one of the editors of the translation, describes some of the problems connected to translating a text which already has a history in Danish language and literature and at the same time is dear to many people. A short introduction to the history of Bible translation in Denmark is given. The transmission of the text and the relation to the classic versions are touched upon, and finally some examples of changes from older translations to the new are discussed

Om Bibelen som en samling skriftruller, før de indgik i en bog. Sammenhængen har været løsere end den nukendte, klassiske tredeling i Loven, Profeterne og Skrifterne. Måske har der tidligere været en todeling: Moses- delen og David-dele

    The Psalter in the Canon

The Psalter, read as a coherent book instead of being read as 150 independent poems, reveals some patterns and a continuum of ideas, which might not express the editors’ original intention, but support the readers’ understanding of this canonical book. The article suggests that, even if the majority of texts are laments, the Psalter is a book of praise, underlined for instance by the endings of the Psalter’s five books. The five books relate the Psalter to the Pentateuch, and a form of competition between David and Moses is found (see esp Book 4), of which David was the winner. This is one of the reasons why the Christians were able to read the Psalter as a Christian book.Spine cut of Journal binding and pages scanned on flatbed EPSON Expression 10000 XL; 400dpi; text/lineart - black and white - stored to Tiff Derivation: Abbyy Fine Reader v.9 work with PNG-format (black and white); Photoshop CS3; Adobe Acrobat v.9 Web display format PDFhttp://explore.up.ac.za/record=b100134

Justice with mercy: About a contemporary Palestinian theology

Arab Christianity has a long history, longer than the history Christianity has in many European countries, a fact we seem to have forgotten in the west. According to Acts 2:11, some Arabs together with several other people of different nationalities were present when Peter gave his address to the crowd on the first Pentecost day after the ascension of Christ. Even if this piece of information is not historically true, there is no doubt that Christianity spread to the Arab world fairly early, probably in the beginning with some Judaeo-Christians, who moved to Arabia, and later on as a result of a mission to the gentiles. Already in antiquity the Bible was translated from the Greek Septuagint into Arabic
