Selected bioelements in bark and wood of native tree species from Central-Amazonian inundation forests

Foliar nutrient levels of native tree species from Central Amazonia. I. Inundation forests

The study of the leaf size spectra and foliar concentrations of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na of 52 species sampled in three Central-Amazon inundation forests (2 várzea sites, 1 igapó site) yielded signifìcant differences between várzea and igapó forests. The várzea foliage consists of larger and less heavy leaves with elemental concentrations being high even by tropical standards. The igapó foliage consists of relatively small leaves which are heavier, but much lower in the studied elements. The igapó leaves are supposed to be sclerophyllous and evergreen

Interkulturelles Training mit synthetischen Kulturen:Konzeption und Evaluation einer multimedialen Lernsoftware zur interkulturellen Sensibilisierung

Die Dissertation beschreibt die Entwicklung und Evaluation einer Lernsoftware zur interkulturellen Sensibilisierung. Grundlage des methodischen Designs bildet der Experiential Learning Cycle von Kolb. Das Programm besteht aus zwei Teilen: Ein videobasiertes Modul veranlasst zur Auseinandersetzung mit synthetischen Kulturen; Ein weiterer Teil vermittelt Wissen über interkulturelle Kommunikation. Die Entwicklung wurde von drei Evaluationsstudien zur Wirkungs- und Akzeptanzanalyse begleitet. Zunächst wurde das videobasierte Modul mit einem interkulturellen Simulationsspiel verglichen. Eine zweite formative Laboruntersuchung überprüfte, ob das gesamte Programm wirksamer ist als seine einzelnen Teile. Im Rahmen einer Auslandsvorbereitung von Studierenden erfolgte eine summative Feldevaluation. Die Ergebnisse zeigen große Effektstärken: Das Training steigert das interkulturelle Bewusstsein und Interesse sowie die interkulturelle Perspektivenübernahme und stößt bei den Anwendern auf hohe Akzeptanz

A quadratic stability result for singular switched systems with application to anti-windup control
