Simulation of the passage of ion flows through nanotracks

    Get PDF
A computer model of a cylindrical nanopore created using the classical method of molecular dynamics is described. The essential element of the model is the potential wells of the adsorption centers on the internal surface of nanopore, the depth of which is determined by the coefficient in Hooke's law. The model describes well experimental features of the passage of ion flows in real nanotracks in modern biosensors

Using spreadsheets as learning tools for neural network simulation

The article supports the need for training techniques for neural network computer simulations in a spreadsheet context. Their use in simulating artificial neural networks is systematically reviewed. The authors distinguish between fundamental methods for addressing the issue of network computer simulation training in the spreadsheet environment, joint application of spreadsheets and tools for neural network simulation, application of third-party add-ins to spreadsheets, development of macros using embedded languages of spreadsheets, use of standard spreadsheet add-ins for non-linear optimization, creation of neural networks in the spreadsheet environment without add-ins, and On the article, methods for creating neural network models in Google Sheets, a cloud-based spreadsheet, are discussed. The classification of multidimensional data presented in R. A. Fisher's "The Use of Multiple Measurements in Taxonomic Problems" served as the model's primary inspiration. Discussed are various idiosyncrasies of data selection as well as Edgar Anderson's participation in the 1920s and 1930s data preparation and collection. The approach of multi-dimensional data display in the form of an ideograph, created by Anderson and regarded as one of the first effective methods of data visualization, is discussed here. The article supports the need for training techniques for neural network computer simulations in a spreadsheet context. Assessing lateral thinking: validity, reliability, and universality using a novel verbal test

    Get PDF
Lateral thinking, a key component of creative thinking, is crucial in problem-solving, scientific discovery, and everyday life. However, its assessment remains challenging due to its elusive nature. This study proposes and validates a novel verbal test to objectively measure lateral thinking. The test, consisting of triads of words with subtle associations, requires subjects to find commonalities between seemingly unrelated concepts. The study involves three groups: two student groups and one engineering group. Statistical analysis reveals that the test demonstrates validity, reliability, and representativeness. Notably, the probability distribution of the measured parameter shows low deviations from the normal law, suggesting that lateral thinking, like general intelligence, is a relatively universal personality trait. This work contributes to a deeper understanding of lateral thinking and provides a validated tool for its assessment, promoting creativity in education and various other fields

Conceptual model of learning based on the combined capabilities of augmented and virtual reality technologies with adaptive learning systems

    Get PDF
The article is devoted to actual problem of using modern ICT tools to increase the level of efficiency of the educational process. The current state and relevance of the use of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies as an appropriate means of improving the educational process are considered. In particular, attention is paid to the potential of the combined capabilities of AR and VR technologies with adaptive learning systems. Insufficient elaboration of cross-use opportunities for achieving of efficiency of the educational process in state-of-the-art research has been identified. Based on analysis of latest publications and experience of using of augmented and virtual reality technologies, as well as the concept of adaptive learning, conceptual model of learning based on the combined capabilities of AR and VR technologies with adaptive learning systems has been designed. The use of VR and AR technologies as a special information environment is justified, which is applied in accordance with the identified dominant type of students' thinking. The prospects of using the proposed model in training process at educational institutions for the implementation and support of new teaching and learning strategies, as well as improving learning outcomes are determined by the example of such courses as “Algorithms and data structures”, “Computer graphics and three-dimensional modeling”, “Circuit Engineering”, “Computer Architecture”

The article deals with the actual issue of the specificity and algorithm of the introduction of innovative AR technologies in the process of psychological and pedagogical support of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). An innovative element of theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem and empirical research is the detection of vectors of a constructive combination of traditional psycho-correctional and psycho-diagnostic approaches with modern AR technologies. The analysis of publications on the role and possibilities of using AR technologies in the process of support children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and inclusive environment was generally conducted by surfing on the Internet platforms containing the theoretical bases for data publications of scientific journals and patents. The article also analyzes the priorities and potential outcomes of using AR technologies in psycho-correction and educational work with autistic children. According to the results of the analysis of scientific researches, Unified clinical protocol of primary, secondary (specialized), tertiary (highly specialized) medical care and medical rehabilitation “Autism spectrum disorders (disorders of general development)”, approaches for correction, development and education of children with ASD, AR technologies were selected for further implementation in a comprehensive program of psychological and pedagogical support for children with ASD. The purpose of the empirical study is the search, analysis and implementation of multifunctional AR technologies in the psycho-correctional construct of psychological and pedagogical support of children with ASD. According to the results of the pilot study, the priorities and effectiveness of using AR technologies in the development of communicative, cognitive, emotional-volitional, mnemonic abilities of children and actualization of adaptive potential and adaptive, socially accepted behaviors are made. The possibilities and perspectives of using AR technologies as an element of inclusive environment, with regard to nosology and phenomenology, need further investigation
