The student government as an educational method. Rich past and poor present

    Get PDF
Democratic and governmental transformations require students to develop numerous civic skills that will allow them to fully participate in adult life and enjoy all civil rights. They constitute a very important link in the school education cycle, but above all, in civic education. The student government creates one of the most important forms of social activity available to students, which allows them to develop, among others, organizational skills. It also furthers the child’s development. Active participation in the student government is an indicator of students’ self-awareness and development; it directs their activities towards cooperation and readiness to carry out tasks for the benefit of the school community. However, despite numerous educational aspects, creating optimal conditions for the functioning of the student government is the most difficult task of a modern school (Sowisło, 1996, p. 7).Democratic and governmental transformations require students to develop numerous civic skills that will allow them to fully participate in adult life and enjoy all civil rights. The bachelor thesis deals with the design of the mobile pumping module for pumping the urea solution according to the specified parameters. In the introductory part of the bachelor thesis are described basic information about urea, urea solution, pumps and elements of the proposed circuit. The second part of the bachelor thesis deals with a wider choice of elements that are available on the market. In the next sections, the most appropriate elements for building the system are selected. Drawing of the pump module assembly is enclosed in the bachelor thesis attachment.338 - Katedra hydromechaniky a hydraulických zařízenívelmi dobř

Social orphanhood – towards learning and understanding to bring help

The goal of the article is to describes the impact of parental behaviour on children’s lives. The main body discusses the neglect of parental duties and the misguided attitude towards raising children exhibited by some parents. Additionally, the article describes the phenomenon of orphanhood and its connection with the problems that some parents are unable to cope with. The second part focuses on the most harmful consequences of certain negative behaviours exhibited by some parents. The final part of the article is a list of personality disorders and the other problems that children suffering from social orphanhood may experience. The goal of the article is to describes the impact of parental behaviour on children’s lives. Phototauntomerism of o-nitrobenzyl compounds: o-quinonoid aci-nitro species studied by matrix isolation and DFT calculations

Photolyses of 2-nitrobenzyl methyl ether and 2-nitrotoluene with 254 nm light have been investigated in Ar and N2 matrices at 12 K, and have been found to give o-quinonoid aci-nitro species as the primary photoproducts, along with other products. The o-quinonoid species have UV absorptions at relatively long wavelengths (λmax at 385–430 nm) and undergo facile secondary photolysis when irradiated in these absorption bands. By means of this selective photolysis, fairly complete IR spectra of the o-quinonoids have been obtained. Comparison of the matrix IR spectra of these species with simulated spectra computed using density functional theory (DFT) has confirmed the identity of these reactive intermediates. Moreover, detailed analysis of the fit between the computed and experimental IR spectra has allowed the specific stereoisomers generated to be identified with reasonable confidence. Computations have also been made of the relative energies of the starting compounds, intermediate o-quinonoid isomers and the possible secondary products, together with the transition states connecting them. The results of these computations indicate that the observed stereoisomer of each of the o-quinonoid species cannot arise by photoinduced H-atom transfer followed by isomerizations on the electronic ground-state surfaces, since the energy barriers for reversion to starting compounds are substantially lower than those for the necessary isomerizations. It is therefore concluded that H-atom transfer and conformational interconversion occur in an electronic excited state

What do German bank customers want? The importance of customer expectations and the failure of the integral customer advisory service

    Get PDF
Banks and financial service providers are currently facing numerous challenges due to the ongoing cheap money policy of the European Central Bank, an increasingly regulated market environment and a rapidly progressive digitization. The ongoing decline in interest income and the stagnating of a banks commission income are currently leading to a reduction of a banks total income. In addition, there is digitization that brings numerous new competitors into the market and changes the core business models of banks. As a result, the general conditions in the financial sector change fundamentally and continue to do so in the near future. Moreover, the behaviour and expectations of bank customers have changed in a way that factors such as “convenience”, “flexibility” and “speed” have become increasingly important for them. For this reason, we will start with a theoretical overview of the status quo and the current challenges banks are facing and then present the results of our customer survey to highlight the current expectations of bank customers. Based on this, we formulate recommendations for banks on how to meet their customers’ expectations

Unilateral optic disc swelling as a first sign of optic nerve sheath meningioma — a case report

    Get PDF
Optic nerve sheath meningiomas (ONSM) are rare, slow-growing, benign tumours, which constitute approximately 2% of all orbital tumours of the anterior visual pathway (or orbital or anterior visual pathway) and 1–2% of all meningiomas. Middle-aged females are primarily affected. Untreated ONSMs usually lead to progressive visual decline, colour blindness, and finally complete loss of vision. Surgical excision may result in blindness in the affected eye. Stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy has recently shown effectiveness in improving or stabilising remaining visual function with minimal procedural morbidity in patients with ONSM. We present a case of a 59-year-old female with unilateral optic nerve sheath meningioma treated with stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy. During eight months of follow-up we observed persistent oedema of the right optic disc and full visual acuity. Optical coherence tomography showed decreased peripapillary nerve fibre layer
