    Cognitive problems in working cancer survivors:Evaluation of an internet-based cognitive rehabilitation program

    Chapter 1: Numerous non-central nervous system (CNS) cancer patients experience cancer-related cognitive problems (CRCP) during and after treatment, potentially affecting work functioning. Identifying effective treatments for CRCP is crucial to ensure employability among cancer survivors. Previous studies suggest cognitive strategy training can alleviate self-perceived CRCP, but evidence is inconclusive and little attention has been given to work-related outcomes. This thesis explores CRCP’s impact on work, treatment options, and evaluates the effectiveness of an internet-based cognitive strategy training program “Niet Rennen Maar Plannen – online” (NRMP-online). Chapter 2: Focus groups, including cancer survivors and professionals, were conducted to gather insights on CRCP at work, coping strategies, and needs. Findings revealed significant impacts of CRCP on work functioning. Cancer survivors employed various strategies to manage CRCP, as did professionals in their attempts to support them. Several needs were identified, including the need for supportive care and enhancement of expertise. Chapter 3: Cancer survivors (n=206) who had applied for work disability benefits after two years of sick leave, were followed over two years. Results showed improvements in self-perceived cognitive functioning, but overall cognitive functioning remained clinically concerning. This suggests that CRCP are persistent among cancer survivors on sick leave. Chapter 4: The association between cognitive functioning and work-related outcomes was evaluated in 279 working cancer survivors with self-reported CRCP. Compared to the norm, a higher incidence of low neuropsychological test performance was found among the sample. Work ability and functioning were associated with self-perceived cognitive functioning, while the association with neuropsychological test performance was less pronounced. Chapter 5: Potential transferability of knowledge from vocational interventions for individuals with chronic diseases to vocational cancer rehabilitation, was evaluated. Results suggested that generic elements of these interventions could be transferred to vocational cancer rehabilitation, although this should be done with caution, and long-term symptoms related to cancer specifically should be taken into account. Chapter 6: Cognitive rehabilitation approaches for CRCP, including cognitive strategy training, retraining, physical exercise, and relaxation techniques, were reviewed. The study concluded that successful cognitive rehabilitation has been achieved in both CNS and non-CNS cancer patients. Several methodological considerations for future research were discussed. Chapter 7: The design of the i-WORC study evaluating NRMP-online’s effectiveness was presented, consisting of two intervention groups (i.e., self-help, basic and therapist-guided, extensive versions of NRMP-online) and a waitlist control group. The primary outcome was the attainment of pre-determined work-related goals. Secondary outcomes included subjective cognitive- and work functioning. Chapter 8: A process evaluation conducted alongside the i-WORC study, focusing on recruitment, reach, dosage, implementation, and participant experiences, was presented. Findings indicated successful implementation of both program versions. Participants and therapists reported generally positive experiences with the program. Chapter 9: Results of the i-WORC study indicated that the therapist-guided, extensive version of NRMP-online had positive, clinically relevant, short- and long-term effect (ES = 0.49 and 0.34, respectively) on attainment of work-related goals in cancer survivors with self-perceived cognitive problems at work. Additional positive effects were observed for recovery needs after a working day (ES = 0.21), vitality (ES = 0.20), and physical role functioning (ES = 0.43). In contrast, the self-help, basic version of NRMP-online did not show a statistically significant positive effect on goal attainment. However, among cancer survivors who met criteria for minimal compliance, borderline significant positive short-term effects on goal attainment were observed for the basic program. Chapter 10: We concluded that the therapist-guided, extensive version of NRMP-online is effective for cancer survivors who experience cognitive problems at work. The self-help, basic version of NRMP-online might be a suitable alternative, but only if individuals adhere to the program sufficiently. Methodological considerations and implications were discussed

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan secara empirik tentang: Aspek, teknik dan prosedur penilaian kelas yang dilaksanakan guru pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMP Neg. 4 Kendari. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan model evaluasi formatif yang dikembangkan oleh Scriven yang mencakup aspek penilaian, teknik penilaian, dan prosedur penilaian. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar pengamatan, wawancara, kuesioner (angket) serta dokumentasi. Sumber data penelitian ini yakni guru, siswa, kepala sekolah dan dokumentasi yang dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi partisipatif, kuesioner, wawancara, serta studi dokumentasi. Untuk pengujian data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber data.  Selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: (1) pengumpulan data, (2) reduksi data, (3) display data dan (4) verifikasi dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Aspek penilaian yang telah dilaksanakan guru meliputi aspek kognitif, aspek psikomotorik, dan aspek afektif; (2) Teknik penilaian yang dilaksanakan guru yang sudah dikembangkan adalah tes tertulis, tes praktik, penugasan, dan tes lisan, sedangkan teknik penilaian observasi, potofolio, jurnal, penilaian diri, dan penilaian antarteman belum dikembangkan sebagaimana mestinya.  Prosedur penilaian yang ditempuh guru belum sepenuhnya memenuhi komponen sebagaimana yang terdapat pada buku panduan penilaian mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Kata kunci: Bahasa Indonesia; Evaluasi formatif; Penilaian

    The Moste-Završnica dam system along with the adjoining reservoir and its ability of rapid\ud integration into the electrical power system provides a large part of the necessary reserve\ud power; however, by keeping large amounts of water behind the dam, it presents a significant\ud risk for the downstream area.\ud The first part of the thesis presents the current status of the water potential available in\ud Slovenia, a short overview of the literature on the topic of ensuring dam safety, and the laws\ud on dam engineering. It also offers some insight into the history and the technical\ud characteristics of the HPP Moste and HPP Završnica dams.\ud The second part of the thesis explains the VOPREG methodology and the collapse risk\ud assessment based on the said methodology. The risk assessment of the HPP Moste and\ud HPP Završnica along with their influence on the population and environment has been\ud established with the help of the record sheets created as part of the VOPREG project,\ud consultation visits at the Savske elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o. headquarters in Medvode, the\ud acquisition of the required documents, and the in situ observations of both dams. The\ud obtained information led to the conclusion that the dams present a high risk, which can be\ud regulated with proper management and maintenance, and can thus ensure a high degree of\ud security for these facilities

    PENGARUH KEBIASAAN MENONTON FILM, KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF, DAN PENGUASAAN GAYA BAHASA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERITA PENDEK (Penelitian Analisis Jalur Pada SMA Negeri 5 Kendari)

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kebiasaan menonton film terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek, pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek, dan pengaruh penguasaan gaya bahasa terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif berjenis survey dengan menggunakan teknik analisis jalur. Populasi penelitin ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Neg. 5 Kendari. Selanjutnya, penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 36 siswa SMA Neg. 5 Kendari Kelas XI IPA 1. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan angket. Hasil analisis data penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif langsung antara kebiasaan menonton film terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek, terdapat pengaruh positif langsung kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek dan terdapat pengaruh langsung positif penguasaan gaya bahasa terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita pendek. Besar kontribusi pengaruh kebiasaan menonton film, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan penguasaan gaya bahasa tersebut yaitu sebesar 75,90% dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian ini.************** This study aims to analyze the effect of movie watching habits on the ability to write short stories, the effect of the ability to think creatively on the ability to write short stories, and also the effect on mastery of language style on the ability to write short stories. The research method used is a quantitative type of survey approach using path analysis techniques. The population of this research is all students of class XI Science in State High School 5 Kendari. Next, the determination of the sample is by using simple random sampling technique, so that a sample of 36 students is obtained from the State High School 5 Kendari Grade XI Science 1. Data collection techniques are carried out using tests and questionnaires. The results of the data analysis of this study indicate that there is a direct positive effect between the habit of watching films, the ability to think creatively and also the mastery of language style on the ability to write short stories. The amount of contribution of the influence of movie watching habits, creative thinking ability, and mastery of language style on the ability to write short stories is 75.90% and the rest is influenced by other factors outside this study

    Local community participation and volunteerism in wildfire area management: A systematic review

    Wildfires have caused considerable economic, ecological, and social damage in recent years. For this reason, decision-makers in wildfire management (WFM) have face increasingly difficult challenges. While decision support systems help decision-makers, it is clear that some deficiencies still persist. In this context, it is thought that the active role of local people involved in wildfire management can eliminate these deficiencies because they have experience and direct knowledge about fighting wildfires in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas. Hence, their expertise can be utilized in future wildfire containment efforts. In this study, the author presents some general information about WUI, public participation, and the decision-making process and its relation to wildfires. In addition, the author will also examine previous studies on the participation of local people in wildfire management and investigate the decision-making processes regarding this issue by using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) technique. The results of this study suggest that there should be a widespread adoption of the community-based integrated fire management (CBIFM) approach, instead of the top-down management approach commonly employed in wildfire management. The results strongly suggest that decision-makers should reach a consensus as to how the principle of participation in fire management should work by reviewing the socio-economic interests of the local community

    Watershed Management Performance Assessment Based on Land Condition Indicators (Laeya Watershed Case, Southeast Sulawesi Province

    Laeya Watershed is one of the three Priority Watersheds in Southeast Sulawesi. Therefore, monitoring and evaluating watershed performance is very important to ensure that watershed management is sustainable. This study aims to assess the performance of watershed management based on indicators of land conditions in the Laeya Watershed, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The method used is a survey with a scoring technique using the parameters index of the percentage of critical land, vegetation cover, and erosion index to determine the carrying capacity of the watershed. The results showed that the carrying capacity of the Laeya Watershed was classified as very good with a score of 35 (<70), with each sub-criterion of critical land classified as very low with a score of 0.5, sub-criteria for vegetation cover classified as good with a score of 0.75 and sub-criteria the erosion index criteria are classified as very high with a score of 0.75. It can be concluded that the management performance of the Laeya watershed is very good
