A study on the fourth q-Painlev\'e equation
A q-difference analogue of the fourth Painlev\'e equation is proposed. Its
symmetry structure and some particular solutions are investigated.Comment: 18 page
Noncommutative Toda Chains, Hankel Quasideterminants And Painlev'e II Equation
We construct solutions of an infinite Toda system and an analogue of the
Painlev'e II equation over noncommutative differential division rings in terms
of quasideterminants of Hankel matrices.Comment: 16 pp; final revised version, will appear in J.Phys. A, minor changes

Third-order integrable difference equations generated by a pair of second-order equations
We show that the third-order difference equations proposed by Hirota,
Kimura and Yahagi are generated by a pair of second-order difference
equations. In some cases, the pair of the second-order equations are equivalent
to the Quispel-Robert-Thomson(QRT) system, but in the other cases, they are
irrelevant to the QRT system. We also discuss an ultradiscretization of the
equations.Comment: 15 pages, 3 figures; Accepted for Publication in J. Phys.
Bilinearization and Casorati determinant solution to the non-autonomous discrete KdV equation
Casorati determinant solution to the non-autonomous discrete KdV equation is
constructed by using the bilinear formalism. We present three different
bilinear formulations which have different origins
On a q-difference Painlev\'e III equation: I. Derivation, symmetry and Riccati type solutions
A q-difference analogue of the Painlev\'e III equation is considered. Its
derivations, affine Weyl group symmetry, and two kinds of special function type
solutions are discussed.Comment: arxiv version is already officia
Two-dimensional soliton cellular automaton of deautonomized Toda-type
A deautonomized version of the two-dimensional Toda lattice equation is
presented. Its ultra-discrete analogue and soliton solutions are also
discussed.Comment: 11 pages, LaTeX fil
A remark on the Hankel determinant formula for solutions of the Toda equation
We consider the Hankel determinant formula of the functions of the
Toda equation. We present a relationship between the determinant formula and
the auxiliary linear problem, which is characterized by a compact formula for
the functions in the framework of the KP theory. Similar phenomena that
have been observed for the Painlev\'e II and IV equations are recovered. The
case of finite lattice is also discussed.Comment: 14 pages, IOP styl
Nambu-Hamiltonian flows associated with discrete maps
For a differentiable map that has
an inverse, we show that there exists a Nambu-Hamiltonian flow in which one of
the initial value, say , of the map plays the role of time variable while
the others remain fixed. We present various examples which exhibit the map-flow
correspondence.Comment: 19 page
Multivortex Solutions of the Weierstrass Representation
The connection between the complex Sine and Sinh-Gordon equations on the
complex plane associated with a Weierstrass type system and the possibility of
construction of several classes of multivortex solutions is discussed in
detail. We perform the Painlev\'e test and analyse the possibility of deriving
the B\"acklund transformation from the singularity analysis of the complex
Sine-Gordon equation. We make use of the analysis using the known relations for
the Painlev\'{e} equations to construct explicit formulae in terms of the
Umemura polynomials which are -functions for rational solutions of the
third Painlev\'{e} equation. New classes of multivortex solutions of a
Weierstrass system are obtained through the use of this proposed procedure.
Some physical applications are mentioned in the area of the vortex Higgs
model when the complex Sine-Gordon equation is reduced to coupled Riccati
equations.Comment: 27 pages LaTeX2e, 1 encapsulated Postscript figur
